   my newest poem

I look at him,
And a smile grows in my face.
Just to remember the times,
When he could've been mine.

As he gives me a hug,
While he puts his arms around me.
I remember what I would've gave
To only have a chance with him.

But now I see him,
In a different light.
Yes, he still means the world to me,
But now its a different way.

His friendship means a lot to me,
Although we never had much anything else.
Now I see why God doesn't answer all prayers,
Because some things are left better untouched.

Out of the Blue: by Stormlight: Chapter One
"Aaaiiieee I'm late! Why doesn't anybody ever wake me up?!"

The shrill yell shattered the peaceful morning stillness of a neighborhood lying just inside the city of Tokyo. A peacefully-slumbering man two blocks away grumbled and turned over as his wife insisted that he go out there and shoot whatever mangy cat was wailing outside the window.
In the Tsukino's house, meanwhile, the true source of the noise was up and moving at warp speed to get ready for school and eat breakfast at the same time. After managing to bolt down five pancakes in as many minutes, Serena blew her parents a kiss, smacked Sammy on the back of his head for his remark about his sister the "bottomless stomach", and bolted for the door, grabbing her lunch and school bag on the way out. "Serena, take an umbrella with you!" her mother called after her.
"Can'tnotimetostop!" Serena yelled back as she slammed the door behind her. From the bedroom window, Luna the cat watched as Serena raced down the street, then heaved an exasperated sigh, shaking her head sadly.
"That girl will never learn," she sighed.

Almost there, Serena thought as she sprinted down the street. Whew! All this running! I should join the Olympics! I'd probably win; I get enough practice at it! She slowed to turn a corner, but the leg suddenly appearing around the other side of it gave her warning that someone was there. With a startled squawk, she veered left…and managed to run right into a stop sign. Only by grabbing hold of it with both arms did she manage to keep from flying into the street, and it was a good thing, too, because at that moment a bus roared past…mere inches from her nose.
She stood there, hugging the sign, gasping for breath, her eyes wide with shock. That…that could have been me out there… she thought dazedly. Out loud, she gasped, "Whoa! That was close!"
"I'll say it was! Look what you made me do, you Meatball Head!" came a highly annoyed voice from directly behind her.
She stiffened. Darien. It just had to be Darien… Not that that was anything unusual. Lately, it seemed like it was always Darien!
"Well, Meatball Head, once you're done hugging the pole, why don't you make yourself useful and help me gather these papers you made me drop," he said arrogantly. "Thanks to you, I'm gonna be late to class!"
Serena straightened proudly, swinging around to glare at him. He was kneeling on the sidewalk, hurriedly gathering scattered papers. A report, by the looks of the typed pages, and a big one judging by the amount of them. He saw her standing there watching him, and straightened, clutching a fistful of papers. "Well? Are ya gonna stand there all day?" he snapped. "I worked on this report for weeks, and if I lose it, I'll hold you responsible!" Her eyes widened and she stared at him. She had nearly been killed, and all he could worry about was a stupid report?! Anger simmered inside her, and she bit her lip against the tears that filled her eyes at his unfeeling remarks. There was no time for a tantrum.
"Well, gee, Darien! I'm so sorry! I tried to avoid you—nearly got flattened by a bus in the process—but hey, what does that matter? It's your stupid papers that are more important!" She snatched up a handful and shoved them at his chest. "Pick the rest up yourself! I wouldn't want to be accused of wrinkling them!" With that, she turned on her heel and raced away again, her hair streaming like two golden ribbons, leaving a stunned Darien to stare after her.

   ROSES
so here's my paper that i had to do 4 miss haynie. tell me what u think of it guys

Love is like a rose, as it grows more and more beautiful and never grows old. But also, in the beginning as it starts out young and cannot find the beauty within the rose.
Love is like this because in the beginning of a relationship or even a friendship that later turns into a relationship they never know that there would be love in it and there-fore be blind to it. People never know that they are meant to be together. And when it is too late it withers away into nothingness. I have a summary that as I know is the way it is always happening; here is a script that will prove my theory.
He flirts with every girl trying to find the one who'll make him the happiest man in the world...the one who'll show him how to live to the fullest. He tries, but can't find her. Couldn't see in front of him the girl that’s been waiting...waiting for him to notice her.
He was blind to the adoration in her eyes, deaf to the love that was singing from her heart, and was paralyzed because he did not feel her presence that’s been there for a lifetime and more. But wait... what is that light he sees, what is that sound he hears, what is this...this feeling.
He has found her, the girl who’ll make his life full of love. But he is too late, for she is with someone. Sure she still loves the guy, but he has taken to long looking for her that she has given up hoping that he would ever think of her as more than a friend.
This is what I mean about love, people don’t realize these things until it is too late they find someone else and sometimes they are happy with that person and sometimes they aren’t. Just like a rose, a rose will sometimes not like the way it looks and sometimes it will.

found it and thought u guys would like it
Her hair was like strands of spun gold, glistening in the sunlight.

It was such a cliché and overused saying, exactly like something one might hear in one of those cheesy, unrealistic chick flicks that he detested so much. The kind of movie that she probably loved, and would sit and squeal over for hours on end with one of her many friends. He knew this, because he'd witnessed the squealing first hand on more than one occasion.

Wasn't there some fairy tale or other about a princess having to spin straw into gold in order to prove herself to the fairy queen and thus win the hand of her prince? He imagined that her hair was what that gold would have looked like; long, glistening ropes as soft to the touch as velvet or silk, scented and fragrant with the enticing hints of lilies and rosemary. The kind of hair every little girl dreams of possessing, to make her into the perfect princess of little girl dreams.

Mamoru blinked, coming out of his daze, and glanced at his empty coffee cup suspiciously. Exactly how much caffeine had he consumed today, anyway?

He glanced back to the table where the object of his current fixation was supposed to be sitting, gossiping with her gaggle of friends and whining about how much homework she had to complete today (even though he doubted that she ever did any of it anyway). To his surprise, a pair of suspicious blue eyes were staring back at him, exactly the color of blue crystals held up to the light...

Gaah ! Stop that, Chiba!

They stared at each other for a long, appraising moment, dark cerulean holding crystal blue, before Mamoru allowed a faint smile to quirk his lips, raising his empty cup to her in a mock salute. That action appeared to break the spell. Ignoring her friends' questioning protests, Usagi abruptly stood and struggled past their laps and marched determinedly forward, a fierce scowl on her pretty face that she probably thought made her look threatening, but in actuality made her look adorable.

Like a kitten with her fur all ruffled, pretending to be a lion...

Mamoru mentally smacked himself over the head, just before the girl reached him and stood with her hands planted on her hips. "And just what is it about me that's so fascinating that you have to keep boring holes into the back of my skull?" she demanded in a high, frustrated voice. "You're giving me the willies!"

Mamoru regarded her for another moment, then smiled again, noting how she suddenly flushed and blinked and looked away in a fit of embarrassment. "Oh, nothing much," he replied lightly. "I was just admiring the way your hair glistens like strands of gold in the sunlight, that's all. It's really beautiful, you know."

And with those words, he set the empty cup down on the counter with a dull tunk, picked up his books, and proceeded to stroll casually out of the arcade, leaving an openmouthed and extremely speechless Usagi gaping after him.
