The Last Elfin Part 9

and faster. The village was finally within his sight, only for him to see his uncle’s house on fire and burning to the ground. His eyes grew wide as he charged for the house unsure of weather his uncle was still in there or not.

“Uncle…Uncle are you there?!” Rai said as he ran into the burning building. He searched around the house with flames rising around him. The smoke was clouding his eyes.

“I will save you, where are you?” he yelled charging blindly through the house. Shinto ran in after him.

“Get out of here now!” he yelled as he spun his sword blowing the smoke out of the house. Tristan came running in as the smoke was leaving the house. He looked around searching for the two of them. Trying to find them and get out before the house fell to the ground collapsing on top of them.

“Where are you guy?” he yelled as he went from room to room. He finally found them lying there on the ground having passed out from the smoke. He lifted the two of them onto his back and walked out to see an old man watching as the house collapsed.

“Come with me.” He said as he started to walk into town.

“My name is Benjamin, I live in this village and I knew the man whose house has been burnt down.” Ben said as he walked into a small home at the edge of the village. Tristan followed him inside the house.

“What are the three of you doing in this village?” Ben asked as he sat down at a small table in the corner of the room. Tristan laid Rai and Shinto down on the floor beside the table. Then he sat down across from Ben.

“We came here looking for Rais’ uncle; I was going to ask him to teach me how to fight before we set off on our journey.” He said as Ben poured a cup of tea.

“Oh well I see, if you want I could teach you a few things until your friends wake up.” Ben said as he lifted the cup of tea up to his lips.

“You can?” Tristan asked as he stood up.

“Of course I can, after all I am the one who taught Rais’ uncle” He said as he got up and walked toward a large door in the back of his home. Tristan followed him back as the large doors swung open. They walked down a long flight of stairs to a room that was pitch black. Once they reached the end of the stairs a long tail of torches lit up along the wall illuminating the room. To reveal a large battle field that had been man made under ground.

“This is amazing!” Tristan said as he looked around. Ben walked passed him then turned to face him.

“I’ll start you off slowly with basic hand to hand fighting.” Ben said as he charged in and swung at Tristan. Tristan jumped back dodging the punch at the last second. Then he felt a sharp pain where the punch would have landed had he not jumped back. He fell to the ground holding on to his side.

The Last Elfin part 8

“Let go of me!” Tristan yelled as he began to pull his arm away with the teeth sinking in farther and farther into his arm.

“Hold still!” Shinto yelled as he jumped out of the tree above and sliced the head of the wolf off. He then charged in after the rest of them slicing each of them into tiny pieces.

“How did you do that?” Rai asked as his jaw hung down in awe. Then he walked over to the chunks of meat that lay on the ground and picked them up. He then picked up the hide of the wolves and placed the meat inside of it.

“What are you doing?” Tristan asked as he saw Rai picking up the blood drenched meat off the ground.

“Well we need to eat don’t we, so I’m going to save the meat for later.” Rai said as he picked the last of it up and placed it in the hide of the wolves. Then he tied the hairs of the fur together so the meat wouldn’t fall out. Then he continued to walk on towards the village where his uncle was staying at.

“Come on guys we have to hurry or we’ll end up missing him!” Rai said as he began to run, he could see the village getting closer and closer. He was just about to get out of the forest when he started to fall down the side of a steep cliff.

“Rai!!” Shinto yelled as he ran and jumped over the side of the cliff after him. He lunged down towards him and reaching his hand out.

“Take my hand!” he yelled as he drew closer and closer. Then he finally grabbed his hand and forced his sword into the side of the cliff slowing the descent down so that they could avoid injury. Then Tristan jumped down after them digging his shoes into the cliff sliding down the side of it.

“What were you thinking?!” Rai asked as he got up and brushed himself off.

“You could have died with me when you jumped down after me” he said as he looked up the side of the cliff. Then he saw a boulder begin to fall down at him, he raised his arm into the sky. Then he pulled his arm back and made his hand into a fist. Then he struck the boulder and shattered it into fifteen pieces.

“How did you do that?” Tristan asked as the last of the pieces fall to the ground. Then he walked over and picked up one of the pieces and looked at them, he realized that the rock was perfectly smooth on one side. He stared at it in awe.

“It’s known as a power strike, everyone in my family is taught it at the age of thirteen. We use to be a mighty clan of elite warriors much like the elfin’s were. By the way Tristan do you even know how to fight?” Rai said as he continued off towards his uncles’ house.

“Well no not really can you teach me?” Tristan said as he and Shinto started to catch up with Rai.

“Well I could but my uncle is way better at that kind of things. So I’ll see if he’ll teach you a thing or two but that can’t happen if he leaves before we get there so let’s go!” Rai said as he stared to run faster
