   Volunteer work for 4 hours

i went to an elementary school by the dam today, to get 4 out of my 5 needed hours of community service. it was a Halloween party. i have to do this or else i'll fail Goverment. anyway, i worked the ring toss. it ok at first, but it got a little busy for a while. one thing i kept on saying was, "toss it like a Frisbee, and aim for the hands." it was a scarecrow, and you had to get it on his hands/arms or head. it was very difficult. and these kids were all ranging for 4 years to 6th grade. since it was hard, i gave people a piece of candy for trying. then, if it was close, I'd say they could choose a prize or some candy. the prizes were like "fun straws" pencils, stamps, and stuff liek that.
i didn't eat anything before the party, the last thing i had was lunch. i was starving. i ate a toosie roll then i tried to get a Crunch bar, i thought i was busted when this worker took this bag since i had a lot of candy. she said it was OK to a one every once and a while. this kid in my class had the basketball game. if you got a basket, you got a mini flashlight. at one point, i didn't have anyone playing my game, so i sat down. the kid next to me said, "Kirsten? can you untie these flashlights? instead of doing noting......and eating candy?" yeah, i had stuffed a Kit Kat in my mouth. and the "untie the flashlights" is because they were all on a long string, so it was like a necklace. they were tied in sets of twos. i did that and did the ring toss for 3 hours. i helped clean up for another hour. one kid i thought was funny was this kid dressed up like a ninja. he was so funny! he would do these ninja moves before he threw a ring. when he was done, i did a little ninja move of my own. it was fun. i was always saying something about someone's costume, if they had it. which 98% of them did. i hung out with my friend Elyse (new friend! ^_^) and we were joking around. i had a really fun time. (even though it was unbearably hot in the gym with all the games and i was starving!) ^_~
My dad picked me up (a tad late) and we went to DQ. i got a banana-strawberry shake. Yum! ^_^ now i'm home, and later i'm going to watch the Naruto episode that i taped last Saturday. i haven't seen it yet, and my friend said that i shouldn't unless you want it to be bugging you for the rest of the week. I'll watch it now, then tape over it to make room for Yu-Gi-Oh!
speaking of which, I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT IT! ^_^ can't wait! could tomorrow be the day we've all been waiting for? well, maybe not..............well, maybe yeah! i don't know. i'm not going to get too excited. it's unhealthy ~_^
