How to college (http://www.kazorum.com/aoars-about136.html)
So you wanna do the college thing?
Well, it really depends on if you want to go to Community College (cheap) or go to a State College (movie style), and the optional tech college (unknown how they work).

I'm just gonna go over the simple community college since i've got experience.

Step 1: Still in high school? good, make sure you have your high school degree set on COLLEGE GRAD...that technical degree they give out dont do jack.

the reason for this is the government/tuition assistance will pay for your tuition fees (HOPE scholarship). 3.0 average is easy to maintain.

If you screw up on this and out of high school with a technical diploma, then your best chance is to try for Pell Grant (based on taxes, free government tuition).

don't have a 3.0 average and have a college grad diploma? your best chance is to apply for tuition assistance and get the Pell Grant.

don't have a 3.0 average and have a technical diploma? (this is my status) no problem, if you apply for tuition assistance, you may get Pell grant ( 30% chance)...

the alt to this is earn a 3.0 gpa (grade point average) WHILE IN COLLEGE and earn 30 credit hours. usually 1 class on 1 semester = 3 credits hours (usually). You may be eligable for the Hope scholarship.

Can you get the Grant/Scholarship if I dont go to college within 2 years?
Yes, but it's a pain in the ass to relearn all that crap you did in highschool. My suggestion is move on to college ASAP.

Step 2: Money...

Too old to hang with the kids?
Ok, so you are like 30 years old and out of school for the past 23 years. No problem, you may find that being a full time student, you must keep a average of $1000 USD to pay for tuition and fees. Fees include parking/technology/sport usage/student ID.... yeah i know, it's total bullshit but them greedy bastards gotta milk the money some how to improve the school.

Any who, so your old, and have a full time job working in a restaurant.
(restaurants from simple fast foods like Burger King to fancy ones like Barnacles: japanese sushi, these all will be around forever due to food being a nessessity in human life as a social outting with your love ones. )

So you earn what? like, $8-$13.00 USD per hour? well if you calculate that, $8*8(hours)= $64.00(per day) * 5(work days one week)= $320.00 USD per week. average of 4 weeks in 1 month so, $320.00 * 4( weeks) = $1280.00( per month) * 12 (months)= $15360.00 USD per year

wow, you just earning a 5 diget income... morgage (apartment rent/house payment) cost what? around $1000.00 per month? and you have to spend the extra $280.00 USD on what? BILLS!!!

you can divide the cost of living by 2 if you are married or have a roommate. Room mates rock cause you can pay less the more ppl you hole up in your house/apartment.

moving back on subject.

The goal is to get money to pay for 1 semester of college. 1 semester last 3-4 months. $1000 will be enough for around 4 classes for the 1 semester. more in detail later.

HIGH SCHOOL teens ready to cause mayhem
Ok, so your a senior in high school. Have little to no cash or even a bank account. It's ok, banks sucks cause they use your money to make money. It's a fact. But guess what, you need to pile up the cash to go to move on.

Option 1: Get a part time... Mall is OK to go work at, but the managers are bitches and abuse their workers... casheiring. everyone can get this kind of job, skill required is quick math, $20.00 - $.99 + tax...Don't worry, the cash machine is just another computer with a pentium 2 chip inside....kinda like a over powered calculator with a one track program. So all the calculations are given, just gotta give the right change to the customer. Just get a part time job and save up $1000.

Currently, child labor laws allow teenagers at age 15+ to work in America legally. I should know, i was a working in a japanese restaurant as a dish washer around age 15...

Option 2: Get your parents to pay for it. Easy to do, but not all parents are very caring. Sure they said in the past 18 years that they were putting money aside for YOUR college education. But not all parent actually do, so it's sometimes a lie. It's a lot more safer to earn the money yourself.

Option 3: Join the military...not a great choice, but it's a guarentee your gonna get money, not all military ppl are infantry, only the crazy ppl are infantry, the recruiters are everywhere, and its best to join during peace time. The government will put the bill for everything, food, clothing, training... you could be homeless and jobless and they would recruit you in a heartbeat. yay instant cash...BUT, the downfall of this is you have to dedicate 4-5 years of your life traveling the world. seriously, I chosen this path and went all over the place in 4 years. They also have part time or Reserve. The downfall of this is you get 50% of what a full time worker would get, you dont get paid for dorms, food, clothing.
BOTH will give you the same benifits in education.

Dont lose focus, the goal is money.

If you have your $1000 and ready to head off into the school zone.

Step 3: Registration.

Ah yes, this part took me 1 year to complete since i was being slow about it. So lets begin by heading up to your closes community college and picking up the registration document. It's like a 2 page booklet. Then fill in the info.

After you fill in what you can it will ask for medical information.
fill in what you know, you will need proof of a few of the Immunity shots. Keep your receipts.

Items you will need are "Immunity shots records". they wanna know if you gotton your Typloid shot/Syphilis shot/Tetnus shot/ and hepititus shots. well, its a minimum of 4 shots now (2005) you need a doc signature as well.

WAIT, THESE SHOTS COST OVER $50 EACH!!!
yes, they are expensive, and the signature cost $5.00 too :p
but you can cut back on the tetnus shot by getting tested. so if you got your tetnus shot when you were 12 years old, chances are you dont have to pay that $50-$75 shot. It only cost $25 to get tested. sweet deal.

Can't I just forge the documents?
Yes you could, but its too risky to try since you never know how it would affect your documents in the long run (4 years down the road, you lose your college creds due to false document)

I wanna try to get all the shortcuts and work arounds on getting into college. but now im sleepy and will continue my "Guide" later.
