higurashi 11
well first of all i'm thinking of moving my diary somewhere else. where to i still dont know but i'm sure that it wont cost me anything whatever i choose to host this.

all else set aside, i just finished watching higurashi eps 11 and i have to say, the anime's back on track with the redrumming. what makes things interesting for me tho, is that it seems as if K1 is behaving very similar to satoshi... anyway... i cant wait for the next episode

higurashi's new arc
I finally moved outta my old "studio". I just got my connection back up along with my phone line. While i havent caught up completely, I did watch the latest episodes of higurashi.

The opening of episode 9 was surprisingly sickening. I did expect something crazy due to the 4 episode pattern. Lets see...

eps 1: K1 repeatedly beating the crap outta rena and mion's already dead body

eps 5: Rika stabbing herself in the ear in front of mion

and now eps 9: The thoroughly tortured corpse of what looks like satoko (i cant even tell anymore... it could be satoshi) appears in some sewage canal with her insides spilling out and the nails hammered into the joints of her fingers which is probably a sign that mion's somehow involved.

I guess it's probably a shock to me since i didnt think that they'd broadcast any real gore in the series to keep things tv friendly. There was plently opportunity to show some real gore in the previous arc. I guess they're just using gore sparingly...

Anyway... as far as the story goes, this arc is pretty much all Satoko. Although her story seems a little outta place, It didnt bother me at all. I'm fine with it as long as the series got blood thirsty lolis and someone to kill.

2k4's nanoha
Maybe I'm just not that 1337 in anime yet (considering that it was games>anime for me till 2 years ago... though both are pretty high priorities) but I cant exactly figure out the intended audience for mahou shojou animes like this. Children? Otaku? Highschool Chixorz? Anyhow, I sat through 2k4's Mahou Shojo Lyrical Nanoha.

To be honest, the plot was a bit shallow for me. Then again, I was never into the standard mahou shojo-ish stuff so I'm actually surprised that i stayed long enough to see it through. Though not my type of thing, I have to say, out of all the mahou shojo anime I've watched (which isn't much), This is probably the only one I sat through the whole thing. The execution, and quality of the series is overall pretty good, though the biggest plus would probably be tamura yukari (Michiru from Air! Irresistable... also now playing as rena in higurashi no naku koro ni... a must watch this season). I might actually pick up the next season.

Going to start posting when the sun's still up
Ok, by now I realize that I've been posting very poorly... not that it really matter since there's really nobody visiting... This is pretty much a private diary by now (and i actually have somethign like that in mind when i started writing). Anyway, I realize that my judgement and writing skills become very poor as i get tired so I'm going to start posting when i'm still awake.

Repost on Mai Hime/Otome
Plot-wise, i guess Hime is ok... there's holes here and it's pretty predictable, but they kept it interesting. I'm glad I didnt pass up this series completely mostly cuz shizuru/natsuki is the hottest chixor matchup ever in all the anime i've seen (i think...). I also love how mitoko drags the sword around at mach speed.

Otome's plot had a lot of holes but it's pretty fun overall, I'm somehow able to kinda overlook the whole incest relationship between Nina and Sergay. There's a lot of problems overall but I found some redeeming features, though overall, Otome is still weaker than Hime. First of all, I actually liked the 2nd Otome OP (Crystal Energy by Kuribayashi Mina) though most would probably agree that they should keep mai outta the OP as she played a very minor role in Otome. Second redeeming feature is... believe it or not, is how near the end of Otome, you know damn well that the good guys will win, but the ever confident Nagi throws out more and more secret weaponry. It might just be my mood but it was just a helluva lotta fun for me to watch a few lezbo chixorz beat the crap outta Nagi's arsenal of uber weaponry. Last but not least, I love it when they play those battle trance music when screen zooms in on natsuki or shizuru's GEM. There's something about their transformation that I really dig.

If you havent noticed yet, I'm very forgiving about anime's flaws as and plot holes. As the matter of fact, I'd probably ignore any flaw as long as it dont hit one of my big anime "no-nos". All in all, I had a pretty good time watching himes/otomes pwn... It's like watching fatality play quake back when there's no competition, you know he's going to win the 1st prize, but the fun's to watch him get there.
