   Camping
Sorry I haven't been around, but I just got back from camping the other day! Here's my trip!

So went camping. ^_^ It was SO much fun!! I won't go into all the details but we had a GREAT spot! Right by the water! Casey and I brought our scootors and Casey got to invite her friend Sarah with her. So after we got unpacked we took our scootors to this really big hill. Er really big... Casey and I were on the scootors, Sarah walking beside us. Now... when someone tells you that the hill might be too steep to take the scooter down... you might want to listen.

I didn't. ^^;;

It was fun at first. Then I got going to fast and could stop. Next thing I knew I was falling to the ground. All I could think of was to not land on my head. My leg got scrached up good and my white GTO shirt got nice and black. Walked back to camp and told Casey and Sarah to go on. Sarah was almost too scared to go on the scooter after she saw me fall.

It wasn't too bad, mom was even able to get just about all the dirt off my shirt! Found Casey and Sarah and for the rest of the day we walked/scootored around the park.

Then I did something Casey loved me for. I wanted to go fishing so I asked Casey and Sarah to come with me. The dock was far from the site so we had to drive. As soon as we were out of site of camp I pulled over and asked Casey if she wanted to learn how to drive. She couldn't believe it, my permit lacking sister was a bit shocked. We switched postions and she drove. Before anyone starts yelling at me: "YOU LET HER DRIVE!" There isn't really any traffic at camp, so it was alright and she didn't drive long. I took over again when we got to the area where there are more cars. She was so excited and she really wants to get her permit now. We didn't catch any fish.

Then it was getting dark so we went back to camp and had a nice camp fire. Ate hotdogs, and somors. Mom popped popcorn, but spilled the first bunch on the ground. The fire died down a bit so we went looking for dear. Found a few and a red fox. Went back to the camp, we were guessing how many racoons we would have eatting the popcorn when we got there... well... we were all wrong. There weren't any racoons.

There was a sunk.

We all sat in the car unsure what to do. We really didn't want to get sprayed and we've never had to deal with sunks before. Luckily it wandered off and we were able to get out. Spent more time around the fire and went to bed. Casey and Sarah slept in the same tent together and while they giggled all night long I had something sniffing at my head on the other side of my tent all night. -_-;; Just a little hard to sleep. Then in the middle of the night the racoons started fighting and made a really loud noise.

In the morning I tried fishing... and managed to catch bottom. So mom and I decided to go on a nature walk and Casey and Sarah went on a scootor ride. (Sarah ended up loving the scootor.) Just as they took off down the road, dad pulled up and we chatted with him for a bit. He said the pets were doing good, but my cat was going nuts looking for me. Aw! Poor kitty! Dad followed us as we headed to the nature center, but there in the road was Casey and Sarah! They had gone a long way... but Sarah had fallen and gotten scrached up really good.

They got in the car with us and we went to the nature center where Sarah got cleaned up. Then they decided to go on the walk with us. Went on about a two hour walk. Saw a deer on the walk and there weren't any black flies that would bite us like we had thought we would find.

Went back to camp and hung out. Then rode down to the beach... but the water was too cold to go swimming. I felt bad for Casey because she really wanted to go swimming so I offered to buy her something kinda cheap at the store. I ended up buying three small water guns and the three of us returned to camp to have a water gun fight. After we were nice and soaked we sat around playing cards and listening to music.

Hung around til dusk. While we were waiting, a couple ducks we'd been feeding came up and we feed them some bread. They left and a whole heard of Canadain Gesse with a bunch of half grown babies came up. It was amazing. They overtook camp. Normally Casey and I chase them, but the tables were turned when a little baby snuck behind me and I bumbed into it. Momma wasn't happy with me and chased me. AH! We felt bad for the ducks though, because they came back and this time they brought their babies but the geese kept nipping at them so they left.

I made another fire and had more food. As we were eating we saw something moving behind us. It was a racoon. He came right up to the picnic table while we were eating. Annoying little thing. Normally they don't come out until we finish eating. So we all hung around the fire when Casey suddenly jumped up and started running away screaming: "Sunck's back! Sunck's back!!" Sure enough it was. We all watched as it wandered around for a bit before leaving. Mom decided to dump some popcorn away from camp and it was a good idea at first. The sunk hung around the popcorn and left us alone.

After a few hours Casey and Sarah got tired and went to bed. Mom and I stayed up and watched the fire burn down. I thought I heard something so I turned around and there... right next to me... only an arms lenght away, was the sunk. I wanted to run, I could picture him squirting me but I sat very still. Mom and I couldn't believe it was so close. Luckily it ran off to the neighbors to pick at their food before coming back later to eat at the popcorn again.

Went to bed after the fire had burned down to nothing but coal. Slept great. One of the best night sleep I've gotten recently. In the morning we packed up camp and fed the cimpmucks and squirrls once more. The chimpmucks we even got to sit in our hands and eat the peanuts. They were so cute!

Went fishing when camp got all packed up. There was a Great Blue Herring on the dock and I threw a fish at it when we caught one. It was so cool! It ran up and swallowed the fish whole! We even watched as it plucked a catfish right out of the water. We ended up throwing it all our fish and it hung around. It was funny, it got so excited when it saw us bring in a fish.

Went home after that and it's so good to be back. Buttons won't let me out of her site. I took a nap earlier today, but it's kinda hard when you have a cat walking all over you, meowing and walking all over you. Aw, poor kitty!!! She's going to be so sad when I leave for school in August!
