   Chapter 2: The Cards
Haru sat under a tree, staring at his companions. Sakura was sound asleep and Kakashi's pals were perched in odd places. Kyo and Drei were sleeping on a ledge, but Zayne was awake. Haru sighed as he stood, looking off at his home. "It's not my home. Kakashi's recidence is where I grew up. It's not my house," he thought to himself. "You awake?" Zayne asked. Haru nodded, shook out of his daze. "I saw a boy, not too long ago. He was carrying a bundle of cards," Zayne explained. "Well, that's normal. Why are you worried?" Haru asked. "Well, what if they were, dangerous cards? Or something like that?" Zayne growled. Haru looked at him, his blue eyes were stone cold. He mouthed something that Zayne didn't catch then took off. "Man, where's he going now?" Zayne shook his head and sprinted off behind him.

When they arrived at the town the boy was there. "A pack of cards to you fine sirs? You should take one. They're cheap," the boy crowed. Haru slipped his hand into his pocket. He flung 2 silver coins onto the table. "Thank ye. Now you know they're rare cards, don't you?" asked the boy. Zayne stepped forward. "Haru, you hear that? Rare, maybe dangerous," he whispered. "Ok now, thank you very much. I'll have 2 more packs of them cards," Haru proclaimed. "Idiot," Zayne mumbled as he strode to the nearest shop. Haru trailed him. "Look. Black Wing Dragon, Elf Swordsman, Thunder Blade, harmless cards," Haru laughed.

Kakashi awoke suddenly. "Hey, Sakura? Haru, Zayne? Drei, Kyo?" he asked. He got up. Slowly he crept to the ledge. "You two seen Haru and Zayne?" he asked. No reply. "Must be in town" he decided.

Small and big children run amok in the town. "I call forth Jumbo Mecha Wolf. 685 points, beat that!" they shouted, with different names and points. Haru flipped through his deck. "Lemme see, looks like I wasted 4 silver coins for nothing then huh," he said. Zayne said nothing. "Ok, I know you think I'm an idi.." Before Haru could continue, a large man called Ragoth was upon them. "Ok, kiddies. You know the drill," the man thundered. Haru clencehed his fists. His cards glowed yellow. "It's worth a shot" he told himself. "GO BLACK WING DRAGON! Attack Ragoth," he shouted. The dragon appeared and startled him. "Eh hehehehe, Card Master. You scared me for a second. Seems you aren't up to snuff, eh?" Ragoth bragged. Haru stared blankly, "What? I'm no Card Master. I hope to become a ninja," Haru stated. "Eh hehehehehehe, Card Master, That's you. Sure you might become a ninja but there's no hiding the truth," Ragoth laughed.
