*takes deep breath* okay ppls! here it is! its not that good, its still just a rough draft, theres sum stuff i still have to alter...and its not that long either...
"It says is right here, brother!" The youngest of the three siblings exclaimed, he was more surprised that he had found exactly what he wanted than he had been three summers ago when he won first place in the spelling bee. He pointed to the words in the book and underlinded them with his finger as he read them aloud to his brothers.
"'Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return, to obtain, something of equall value must be lost.' You see brother? It says it right here!"
The elder sibling walked over to the pile of bookes that had been gathering around his brother since their argument earlier that morning. He lifted the book to his face silently.
"...Derek, this is alchemy, it's science, no one goes by these books anymore. Your a fool if you truely beleive in it... Besides, this book is out-dated."
"but thats the thing, Nate, I do beleive in equivalent exchange." Derek wished his brothers would for once see it his way, but naturally the youngest would be ignored.
"Its not true," Brandon, the middle brother piped up. "Listen, think of Rufus, we got him for free, no strings attached."
"But there are strings, sure you get a new companion, but with the friendship come responsibility. Now one of us will have to feed him, water him, train him, we have to keep him in good health, don't you see that as an equivalence?"
"Naw, it's just how life goes, besides, hes my dog, but you'll be the one taking care of him. where is the equivalence in that?"
"Hey, no fair! I don't want to take care of him all by myself!"
The two elder brothers laughed. They enjoyed teasing eachother, and often times enjoyed fighting and rough housing. But honestly, the siblings were alone. They had never mer their mother whom had died in birth problems of the third. the boys' father had become inactive after eight years of morn ove the sudden loss of his wife, then one day he simply backed up and left just shour of the eldest fourteenth birth-day. It had been a year and three months since then, but the younger two boys are still looking, wating for their father to return home. The eldest is the only one who found himself smart enough and admit his father never would return, and even if he did, he would not have been welcomed. Nate knew the truth, therefore he cared for his brothers as his mother, had she been alive, would have cared for them. He made them complete tasks, get simple jobs of some sort, anything to bring in a little money for food or clothing. he helped them with homework and school projects. He let them get away with much more than any real parent ever would have.
The neighbors seemed to care the most for the young boys' health; they brought leftover baked goods and dinners, and often blankets and clothing specified for each boy. Nate was the only one to ever refuse help from others, he saw it as pitty, not help. You can see where the youngest gets the pressued to push away. Thus the younger two were always to answer the door.
