this seasons last episode of blanco!! dont worry there will be more!
“So where do we go from here man?” The two walked along at a leisurely pace, the other three weres following along like zombies. The eagle was apparently named Zem, as that was the only word he said, and he said it a lot. “I’m thinking we could go to a brothel-”the look Blanco gave him stopped him from continuing the sentence. “Alright then, I’ll let you decide, since your still in love with Eve.”
“There’s nothing wrong with how I feel about her,” tired of talking, Blanco switched to wolf and began to walk in silence.
How I feel is perfectly normal. I just want to find her. That’s all I want, all I want is to be-
Without realizing it, Blanco reached out with his senses across the world. He jumped and searched the area for some sort of magic which could have done this. Vaughn noticed his companion’s distress, and wordlessly shifted himself.
What was that? Did I do that? If so, maybe I can do it again.
He concentrated, and let his mind go out with his hunter’s spirit. The world flashed by again, and Blanco saw a castle which was covered in moving shadows and flashing lightning that came from no clouds. Eve was in one of the windows, and she was very mad.
“What are you so mad about, Eve?,” he sat before her in the room that he had seen.
“Blanco!!!!!”
A third voice from behind. “Who the hell is that?!?!” The joy melted from Eve’s face and it twisted into the one Blanco hated to see, and very rarely did. He spun to see who the voice was. Eve’s mother.
You’re going to die now.
He shifted and turned to leap through the air and then flew backwards as dark energy careened into his body. The burning of the dark fire persisted, slowing the healing his body did so well. “You’ll find that vampires are a very superior race. And then you’ll find that you are very dead.” Eve’s mother clapped her hands and rolled her eyes.
“My husband. That is what he considers to be a sense of humor. She stepped forward and began to pull Eve out of the room. “When your father starts killing, you don’t want to be in his way.”
Eve kicked her mother and pulled her hand back at the same time.“Let go of me you pile of trash!” Before her mother could stand again she turned to go to Blanco, and met the dark wall that was her father. In the corner, Blanco began to moan. The shadows from her vampiric father were leaching the life from Blanco’s body. “Leave him alone!” Her dagger was out and plunged into the darkness within seconds.
“Do I have to explain this every time someone wants me even more dead than I already am? I am a vampire. Not even just that. I am vampire LORD!,” the shadows flared with the final word. “No minor trinket, even in the hands of my own flesh and blood, can destroy me.” The shadows lifted Blanco into the air. His body corroding and regenerating in their grasp. His body was carried to the window, while Eve was knocked unconscious by her mother.
“Children. So difficult to control.”
And then Blanco’s body was hurtling towards the ground. When he hit, the snow actually felt comfortable. He sat up, once again in human form and in the forest.
So what’s up this time? Does he just want to have a drink?
“No, Blanco. I haven’t eaten or drank anything I didn’t find in the wild in....well, let’s say it’s been a very long time. And don’t you find it shocking that you suddenly remember everything that happened here last time? I know I did when I went through this process.”
“So then I’m not alone in thinking the world is insane. So how come I got stronger last time even though you didn’t do anything to me?”
“I’m not sure myself. If I knew that, we wouldn’t have to pass the torch from one totem to the next. We’d just do whatever it is that makes us stronger until none were our equals. I suppose that’s why it must be done this way. To stop us from having too much power too fast.”
“Okay. Hey I have an idea. Let’s go real fast this time so I can go help Eve!”
The other Vorac nodded. “Done.”
Blanco was once again standing within the castle. This time in the throne room. “Hello again young man, I see you are adamant in courting my daughter. As a father, it’s my job to make sure you are worthy of my bloodline.”
“You lying piece of shit! You never once gave a damn about me!!!,” Eve was being restrained by the very same shadows which had ushered Blanco out of the window. Her mother stepped forward.
“Darling, the reason we never gave a damn is because you weren’t even worth half a damn before. Ha!” Her mother returned to the vampire lord and was lost in the shadows. Her laughter could still be heard.
“Now for the gentleman to finish the business at hand,” the shadows finally pulled away from the vampire beneath them. His hair was bone white, his skin the grey of old ash. His clothes were a suit of an even darker grey. He stepped down from his throne and bowed to Blanco. “My name is......one you shall die without the privilege of knowing.” He was across the room and striking Blanco at an insane speed. And even though the darkness of the shadows stayed around Eve’s mother, the burning miasma had stayed with her father. The fur was burned from Blanco’s body.
I will not FALL!!!
With this thought firmly in his mind, Blanco did a third shift. “I haven’t seen this shape in so many years.” Before the vampire lord stood the half man/ half wolf of the older Vorac.
I could get used to this.
“I am still unimpressed with you young man. Your manners make you below my daughter. And no one touches what is mine without my permission.” Blanco sneered.
“We get stronger every time, old man,” Blanco threw a test punch. It never landed. The flesh was eaten away before he got halfway.
“I have to say, your new coat is very luxurious. I will enjoy wearing it,” he struck back at Blanco, sending him across the room.
Now I’m pissed. It’s time to see what this body can really do. I hope that my speed isn’t the only thing I can will to improve.
Blanco rushed back across the room jaws first. The wall of death around the vampire lord hit him, and began to eat his body away at amazing speed.
Heal. Just heal for now.
“Are you meditating in the middle of a duel of honor. If I were the man I was a thousand years ago I would be very upset. As it is, I just see it as the appropriate time to kill you.” The rotting death around Blanco increased until the stone of the castle itself began to turn to dust. Blanco was fine.
This is it. This is the next stage of our evolution. Our bodies can heal faster now.
His eyes opened, and Blanco moved at incredible speed into the vampire’s body. “You’re not invulnerable to other things, just very strong.” Blanco’s fist hit the vampire and sent a shudder through the weakened castle.
You. Hit. Are. Hit. Not. Hit. Strong. Break.
The stonewall gave behind the vampire, sending him out into the cool night air. His body never hit the ground. A large bat went flying off into the distance. His wife was no where to be found either. Two arms wrapped around Blanco from behind and held him tight. “Some days I think you’re the only person who cares about me.”
“Not true. I could never love you more than you love yourself.” They laughed for a full minute.
“You know you’re a full two feet taller than me like that. You were barely a two inches taller before.” She laughed again, and Blanco’s soul became calm. As if no problems had ever happened in his life.
This is what it’s like to be happy.
“I’ll come back as soon as I can,” he pushed her arms off. “When your parents are dead, I’ll come back to you.”
“Okay, I’ll hold you to that promise.”

.....

Ten years later.
A lupine/human form strode across an open plain. Six other forms went with him, each a different animal. They all held the promise of the next step for their kind.
Time to go home.
Blanco’s senses reached out, now a honed skill. No delay at all. He was once again in front of Eve’s carriage. He was once again smashed under it’s wheel. And he was once again happy by her side.
