part thirteen, isnt it keen
“Are you sure this town is a good place to try out our new powers? Didn’t you say the towns people were going to kill you and Eve?”
“Of course it’s a good place. The reason I thought of it was cuz Sagygram reminded me of it when he started talking about other ghouls. This place has a supposedly giant ghoul plaguing it. A perfect target.”
A few minutes later in the bar.
“I thought we told you to never come back here!”
“You and your new friend are going to get hurt if you don’t leave now.”
“I wouldn’t have minded you coming back, if you had brought that gorgeous little girl with you. It’s too bad you swing both ways.”
I hope they’re done now.
“Just point us to the mines, and we’ll be on our way.”
The bar broke out in laughter.
Where do I remember this situation from? I guess I’ll have to use the same tactic.
Blanco used his left arm as a club and knocked the nearest ex-miner unconscious. “Now that I have your attention, can you please help us.” The rest of the bar stopped laughing and stood up. “Vaughn. If you wouldn’t mind?”
“Not at all. Who wants some first?”
“So you’re going to take us all on, while y’ur girlfriend stands back and watches?” More laughter.
Vaughn slowly began to shift. “Thanks for volunteering.” The next few minutes were filled with screaming. A drunk stumbled into the blood covered bar whit a whore at his side.
“Where’s, Billy?,” he asked, nearly falling over and only avoiding that by leaning heavily on the prostitute. Blanco pointed towards the bear on the other side of the bar. “Oh,” and then he slid to the floor passed out. The whore gave Blanco one look, and then picked the man’s pocket.
“Before you go, would you mind telling me where the mines are, and don’t worry about the blood I’ll clean it up.”
“When you live my kind of life, dying ain’t all that scary. And if you want to know sumtin, you gotta pay, just like anyone else,” she stuck out her hand, which was covered in scars around the wrist.
I hate this world.
Blanco reached into the pockets of a dead man and gave her the money he found inside. “I could have done that.”
“True, but you didn’t. So tell me.”
“Walk out the west end of town, and keep going. You’ll find what you want soon enough.”

.....

“So little things, you have come to take me on.” The ghouls body rose from a crack in the earth, but it’s legs were still beneath the surface. Even with this, it towered above Vaughn and Blanco. “I have eaten many of your kind. I enjoy it greatly, since you are a meal forever.”
That’s horrible. The weres he eats just keep healing every time his body starts to digest them, so they never die. They must be going insane in there.
“Here’s a sample of my work,” it vomited up a partially digested wolf, which stared up at Blanco with insane and pitiable eyes. “Most of your kind simply turn into your even weaker human form and die. This one has been very persistent. Ten years. You’ll be his replacement, I grow tired of his foul taste.” Vaughn was already charging at full tilt at the creature. “Fine, we’ll play first.” It’s hand came down on top of Vaughn and crushed him.
“You’re going to die,” and that was what Blanco said before following after his friend.

.....

“You know you’d never think that a ghoul would taste good. But you use the right seasoning and bam! Delicious,” Vaughn passed a chuck of meat from the fire to Blanco.
“I agree completely,” a few hours later they were both asleep. The three weres who had been inside of the ghoul were huddled in the shadows a feet away. They hadn’t said anything the entire night, and probably wouldn’t for a long time. When they cut the ghoul open they couldn’t tell what was just a pile of bones, and what was a werecreature trying to stay alive. So the two of them pulled out every corpse they found and awaited to see if it would start to heal. There was a snake, an eagle, and the wolf which had been vomited up. The rest of the bodies had been buried.
