sooo....we finished death of a salesman. let me warn you now if you ever have to read it. DON"T it is one of the dullest plays ever. Along with Our town. *sigh* we only have one more essay and a test and we're done with that section. then Shakespear! yay!! ^_^ i wait all year for that... Reading kyofanatic13's post yesterday reminded me of our science class motto. We had retarded kids in our class even though it was honors and our motto was "If you do your work, listen to your teachers and show up for school you won't have to ride the pole in your future." --Kerry and Marissa Yup. Okay. Being sick bites. Now I'm in a bitter mood. Because I'm sick, i'm missing the Lord of the Rings marathon --- wait...just got the mail....the Navy is trying to recruit me ahahahahahahaha --- back to the LOTR...i miss out on 6 hours of Orlando Bloom because of this stupid head cold that won't go away. ARG!! But at least that means mike has to go with his sister. >< he is not happy. One thing that has cheered me up is that my aunt booked flights for VA. I leave June 16 and come back June 23. SHort post for now. I'm sick. And in english class....so nothing much has happened. We're having a hell of a rainfall though. *sigh* and it was so nice out yesterday. Well, I have been working all afternoon on my paper. I'm going to post up a little bit of it, so could you please tell me how it is? You guys can be my peer editors! ^_^ Pretty please with cherries on top? Well, here goes!! Asperger's Syndrome Imagine a neurological disorder that can be lead to depression, anxiety, or alcoholism. Relationship problems, Obsessive-Compulsive disorder, and ADAH are also common outcomes. What ailment could this be? It is a disorder called Asperger’s Syndrome. Asperger’s Syndrome, or Asperger Disorder, is known as high functioning Autism. It is placed on the Autistic Spectrum that classifies disorders with a deficiency in verbal and communication skills, and thought and behavioral patterns. (According to the NINDS) Telltale signs of Asperger’s are diverse and contain many different characteristics. Christopher Gillberg, a physician who studied Asperger Syndrome extensively, created a set of six of the most common characteristics. “Social impairment with extreme egocentricity, limited interests and preoccupations, repetitive routines or rituals, speech and language peculiarities, non-verbal communication problems, and motor clumsiness” (Stephen Bauer, M.D., M.P.H) are signs that a child might have Asperger’s. Although Asperger’s is a form of Autism, it is not as rare to find a child with this syndrome. About 25 children out of every 10,000 are likely to be inflicted with Asperger’s. Boys are almost four times more likely to be affected than girls. Asperger Syndrome ranges in it’s severity, so it is possible that it could be passed off as in attention in the classroom, but Asperger’s is seen in a lot of mainstream classrooms because of this. The children are not as aloof as if they had autism. Most of these children are aware of their social difficulty and want to learn how to make friends. There has been a link showing that Asperger’s syndrome can be passed down through genetics. This can only happen if one parent, usually the father, has shown signs or traits of having Asperger’s Syndrome. Asperger’s also has the tendency to run in families where depression and bipolar disorder is present, according to Rebecca Frey, PhD. ^--- That paragraph isn't finished.... thanks guys! It's HOT Really. It's gross. Again. It's cooler than yesterday, but still. Ah well. My friend's planning on sneaking me on her bus after school. Let's hope it works. When we get to her house, I'm stealing her deoderant. -_- It's wayyy to hot. And we're getting slushies from Cumby's! ^_^ Yum. Nice and cold. Yes! Sam and Michael just said that it's going to rain tomorrow. Can't wait. My painting is coming along nicely. I finished my field and mountains. Now I have to work on the wall, river/stream, and the tree. and blossoms. ^_^ It's going to be pretty! And as a final note, you should all check out my wallpapers and comment on them.
