WOOT!
ANOTHER picture is up...WHAAAT?! That's right. ANOTHER. So soon? What am I thinking?! *is impressed by own genius* There are honestly no Mushishi work so I had to remedy the problem. Only 15 hrs... not too shabby. I have quite a number of errors in it, and you can easily spot them when you look at the high resolution version.
Inking is different. I had to waste a lot of money for my comic class on different inks and brushes and nibs and pens and so on and so forth, but this rocks. I mostly used a copic pen on Bristol windmill paper. It was amazing! ^____^

That's all for now. I put up an ecard and I plan on putting another version of the Chrono Crusade image as an ecard. I think I may tidy up my Mushi-shi pic and create a wallpaper eventually.

Oh, and my anime-deviantart name is 'Never-EndingTravels'. I'll be updating it one day. I still have TheThiefKuronue and Everything's-Jake though, no worries. ;D

That's all for now. ;)

I've regained my voice! I still sound sorta hoarse, but it's all good. I've never lost my voice before...is it odd that I found it exciting? LMFAO.
Well, I just made it through my first week of school (I have Fridays off) and I have NO clue how I'm going to make it. Four days of school felt like four weeks. And for those of you saying, "But you get off on Fridays! How can it be bad?" I have school from 9:15 am until 7:45 at night with only 1 hr break for lunch and 1/2 hr for dinner (which really doesn't count 'cause I basically have to go to the next class immediately afterwards anyway). We have sooo much work already. Dammit. I'm glad they're working us hard though. Most of my friends from high school (who turned into college freshman) complain that it's too easy. I complain that I don't have time to brush my teeth! lol jk.
Hm, but I did start a new drawing for theO. WHY do we not have a Mushishi category?!?! It's one of our sponsors! There's hardly any art contributed to it! Fellow otakus, you've failed me! lol I think I'm much happier this way though. I'm tired of hearing about only the same anime shows. (sorry in advanced) But honestly, if you don't like Naruto, Bleach, or Fruits Basket then you're basically screwed. (Good thing I watched Furuba a while ago.) We also need a Kino no Tabi category. BELIEVE IT! *shudder*
Besides that....hmmm what else to update on... OH! I got spoiled on 'Error of Comedies' by my own professor today! > So anyyyyway, there's a live action Mushishi and a Kino no Tabi movie...I probably will check them out (though I have heard a couple of ppl were disappointed with the KnT movie. I hope they're wrong.)

That concludes.
Oh, I can't stop listening to Mogwai. I swear, I need to start terminating people who are better than me in any field. ^___^ lol!

Whew. It's my first week back in school and it's been craaazy busy. I can't believe it's only Wednesday. Jesus. It feels like Friday already...it did yesterday too. XP

I already had Art History 2, Typography 1, Media 1, and Life in Art: Shakespeare.
All of my teachers seem effin' awesome. I'm really excited for Media because I can FINALLY get back into photography. I'm thinking about trying to get a job at the Media Center so I can learn about the equipment they have to offer. X3
In about an hour I have Comics 1. Wootness indeed. Comics is probably the most popular major here because there are only two colleges in the U.S (and one technical) that offers it as a major. I'm going to fail at life in that class. TT__TT

The hierarchy of 'what's really art' is starting to piss me off too. You'd think that if you're accepted into an art school, you'd realize that art comes in many different forms, but a lot of kids are still very narrow minded. It drives me crazy. Almost everyone here thinks that certain forms of art rank higher than others. Example: A really good painting is better than a really good photo. Why? Painting takes talent and apparently, anyone can shoot a good photo. Plus the photographer has photoshop so they can fix anything.
Photoshop is a tool, it doesn't make the art. If you've done anything with photoshop, you would understand it's incredibly difficult to master and it's very easy to mess up on something.
I'm sure most of you know this, but in America anime is not considered art. In comics and in animation we're not allowed to adopt that kind of style. That's why most 'American anime' sucks. The reason that it's look down upon is because American artists don't see it as a true production of creativity. They say it all looks the same and acts the same. I understand their point, but there are always exceptions in this category. So if you ever wonder why Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon has some crazy-ass cartoons with only 'filler' episodes...that's why. I think that's why I was soooo astonished that something like 'Avatar' even made it into the public's eye.
Oh! I finished Kino no Tabi / Kino's Journey last night because I was told it is very much like Mushishi. Wow. I really enjoyed it. I'm starting to get picky with my shows and while I occasionally watch a 'very poorly made' anime, it's more to sedate my thirst than anything else. I must say, Kino no Tabi and Mushishi can be compared at many different levels. (Don't worry, I won't spoil anything. This is just going to be a quick synopsis.) Both feature main characters that have an almost apathetic view towards life. Both have absolutely NO plot, and when I first heard that I immediately thought I'd hate it, but to my surprise I think they are the best shows I've seen in a very long time. Each individual episode is to be taken as just that: an individual story line. While both of them focus entirely on nature, Mushishi focuses more on the entirety of the earth and the creatures that dwell in it and Kino no Tabi primarily questions humanity's role. Most of the episodes of Kino no Tabi are structured the same: Kino vists a country with very odd customs and/or traditions. It's a little dry, considering you know the history of the country is going to be revealed and there's always going to be something off about the place, but it's one of the few shows I've seen that ends with me still pondering these ideas. Overall I'd rate it an 8/10. :) I'm actually watching it again. I watched the first episode last night after I finished it and my expression must have been priceless because I understood many things I didn't before. It was enlightening.

Tomorrow I'm going back to MCAD. I love it over there, but I love the people here in Wisconsin more. This time I'm not going to coming back for a long time. As of right now there are no plans to come back for spring break. I'd love to, but I don't think I can afford the traveling. As for summer, it all depends on if I can get a job or not. I'm going to try for an internship over here though. I'd like to start doing commissions soon, but I fear that my talent isn't as far as I'd like and I'm still not sure how much I should price my work. When we had an art sale at our school people were crazy and overpriced almost everything.

Hmm, so I've been having nightmares and dreams almost everyday for the past week and a half. Hmm. This sucks. AND I'm watching the beginning of FMA...damn I'm stupid, this makes me feel worse! LOL. Guh.

I'll be seeing ya guys laters. I gotta go pack. :(

Oh boy…what am I *thinking*?!?
I’m almost considering making the idea to draw every anime/manga/foreign filrm a late new year’s resolution. I have soo much more, but these are the main ones (thanks anime-planet!).

Will (hopefully) draw:
hack//SIGN
Air Gear
Battle Royale (live action)
Chrono Crusade
Cowboy Bebop
Death Note (manga)
Decendants of Darkness (Yami no Matsui)
Fruits Basket
Full Metal Alchemist
Gravitation
Hellsing
Hikaru no Go
Howl’s Moving Castle
Kiki’s Delivery Service
La Corda D’Oro ~prmo passo~
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
The Last Avatar
Loveless
Mushishi
My Neighbor Totoro
Ouran High School Host Club
Prince of Tennis
Princess Mononoke
Princess Princess (Live Action – damn Kenta Kamakari for forcing me to watch this!)
Princess Tutu
Spirited Away
Sukisho
Witch Hunter Robin
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge
Yu Yu Hakusho

Maybes: (most of these I don’t even remember watching… but I did…)
Initial D
Metropolis
The Placed Promised in our Early Days
Pokemon (I still have a fond memory of Pokemon) ^_^
Read or Die
Vampire Hunter D
Gankutsuou: The count of Monte Cristo
Darker Than Black (I only watched the first episode)
Gakuen Heaven
Sukitono
Hana Yori Dango (live action)

More than likely will not do:
Inuyasha (I’d probably hack off my own hand if I try to draw this.
Naruto (Again…hacking off hand)
Yugioh (Sorry…but I’m willing to illegally commission!)

I have tons of other things to draw so iunno why I’m deciding to do this. I REALLY wanted to draw that comic about the boy who has cancer too but that’s about sixty-nine drawings or more. I want to make that one a fanart because the original idea came from a fanfiction I wanted to write where in TNO Ryoma has cancer, buuuut I can use original characters and make it for a class. Oh, decisions! In addition, I have at least ten drawings I have started and never finished because I was taking too much time on them. I wanted to do that this break, and I haven’t finished that either! >< Drat! I have to design some tattoos for my co-signer for college…(why?!) and do a fruit basket drawing for a fan of mine (I’m not feeling up to it though…)

Going back to the epic 2008 drawings I would like to do…I have decided that only my Chrono Crusade one will count for this. Considering my style has changed remarkably, it’s almost unfair I short change some shows. There are few drawings that I actually like and would consider putting in with this ‘gallery’ – like the 100 hour drawing I did for Ouran or (oddly enough) the simple ‘Time Will Tell’ Death Note picture of Near.

Considering I also will be watching more anime in the future, this already seems like a losing battle to me. TT___TT

Sister Rosette Christopher: [Chrono slaps her hand] Hey what's the big idea?
Chrono: You've had it nun-girl!
Sister Rosette Christopher: But poopsie, we've come all this way to Sin City, so why not sin a little?

Otaku Attraction of the Day: Chrono Crusade – The Dance

(Don’tcha love Chrono’s outfit?)

And a whole-hearted thanks to ppl who stopped to look at my new drawing! Woot! 127 views! Six votes and four comments… but who’s counting? TT___TT lmfao, jk! jk! Thanks much for taking the time to look at it! ^_____^ *ultra happy*

OMFG OMFG OMFG! I'M DONE WITH THAT CC PIC!
That's RIGHT. I am DONE. Sooo many hours and layers and headaches were put into this stupid picture, but I am....hesitantly content. There are sooo many errors too. I don't think I'm going to do this style for a *long* time. Just simple shading for me for a lil while! Anyway, this pic shall be my return to theotaku! WOOT! I shall go and visit people asap! Yay! *Iz ultra happy*
Goal: Make it to the front page of theo and become the best artist out there! YESH! *pumps fist into the air*

P.S: Help me think of a deviantart name? I have two accounts.

http://TheThiefKuronue.deviantart.com
is my work from middle school to high school (and bits of college) and
http://Everythings-Jake.deviantart.com
is my college art.

Now I need one for my 'fun drawings, this isn't really my portfolio'. I need a name and every site I always use TheThiefKuronue...hmm... change is in order! Help? Suggestions? Please?

*sigh*
I've been constantly picking at that Chrono Crusade drawing for quite a while now. It's like my Ouran piece in terms of style and time. It has taken me over thirty hours (I actually think it's around forty, but thirty I know for sure) and utilizes the smudge tool waaay too much. I love the style it gives me because it feel like painting, but hooooly crap. This drawing had forty-two layers before I flattened the image and I haven't even started the background yet. *cries* I took a loooong time changing Rosette, but her legs and dress still look really weird. I'm thinking of just getting the bg done and over with and just call it a day and start something new.

I had planned on creating this gigantic comic over break...haha not gunna happen. It was going to be about this kid who has cancer and I was debating if I should have make my own characters or if I should draw it as a fanart. I'm still debating over it and I think I may just try to do it once school starts up again. ><

My classes for next semester includes:
Comic 1, Media 1, Typography 1, Art History 2, and either Life in Art of Shakespeare or Life in Art of David Lynch. I love Shakespeare but I read a lot of his work and I want something new...so fingers crossed for Lynch! :)

I had this CRAZY idea to draw a fanart from every anime/manga I've seen/read. That's so CRAZY...I'm still thinking of doing it. I don't think I'd include the stuff I already have fanart of....maybe. What do you think? Do you think I should *try*? It would take me forever considering I've seen over sixty anime shows (according to anime-planet). I kinda want to do it, but I know I'd never be able to finish it all. Maybe I should give it a whirl though, just to see how far I get. :)

That's my first update of the new year! Woot!
