avatar
I've decided I'm sick of my avatar and ready for a change. Any ideas?

Incidentally, I beat All Cup in Double Dash!! today. Yay!

it's been a while

Well, hello, everybody you seven people who visit! ;-) I've been pretty much completely dead to the online world for about a week, not only all otaku-related sites but the other couple sites I browse as well. I can honestly say that since I've joined OB I've never seen updated threads that stretch all the way to the second page of the Arena, because I usually check in there so often. Until today. That was weird.

Anyway, I've returned to school and my normal ways of life (for a little while) so naturally I had to hit up myOtaku as well. (Sometimes I just have the urge to say the weirdest little sayings ... "hit up" being a prime example of this.) Anyway, ... yeah. Thanksgiving break was pretty good. Not overly eventful, except that I finally did buy a GameCube and even though I have only two games at the moment, it took up a good deal of break. Played some Double Dash!! with my brother, which was fun. I haven't beaten the All Cup yet, and it took us several tries just to beat the Flower, Star, and Special Cups on 150CC. But eventually we did it :-) (actually, I did it in most cases ... haha). So yes, such good karting times. Gotta love the kart. And whatever.

What else ... oh, two weekends ago was the Game, which is basically both the biggest football game and also the weekend before vacation, which is basically just an excuse to party a lot more than on usual weekends. I had a ton of fun. Didn't even go out to any of the big parties, more just hanging out with my usual friends, but I had a really, really great time. :-) Yay!

So ... yeah ... that's about it, I think. Except that I also got sick for a second time during break, with literally one day of being healthy in between. Which really sucked, but I think I'm getting better now. It's getting to be crunch time for exams, papers, and other things, ... but I think I'm kind of prepared. Oh, fine, that's a total lie.

empty rooms.

Hm. Just now at the bottom of the OtakuBoards I saw this message (or something close to it): "There are 1 members and 0 guests browsing the boards. / Users online: terra"

I'm not sure if this was just some sort of screwup on my computer (I'm attempting to use our wireless provider since I just got home, and it's been acting really strangely) or because OB's servers had been acting funny or what, but it felt so ... lonely. When I went into the Adventure Arena I felt like someone peering through an empty house, going into another empty room. It was so odd.

I suppose my imagination is a little too rampant, hmm?

one of those things.

You know, I think some people just don't understand the concept of a message board. Oftentimes in the Arena (and in other places on the Boards) I'll see a post that at the end has something like, "Sorry this was so short and horribly misspelled I don't have time to write right now." To an extent I understand this, because sometimes you want your character to really get something done. And yet to another, much larger extent (my metaphor got all twisted), I don't. It's a message board. Not an instant messaging system. The people you are messaging with probably expect to have to wait. And you should expect to have a wait with them, too. To me, "I'll come back later" is built into the system already. I'd a thousand times rather wait for you to post something insightful that makes sense that have you promise you'll come back later right now.

Hm. I don't think I explained myself as well as I could've, but you probably get the general idea.

So, who knows where this comes from: "I have heard that you enjoy prancing around like an idiot. Is this true?"

I had more to say, too, but I forgot it at first. Firstly, I had a new idea for an RPG that I think would be smashing. Then last night when I couldn't sleep (because I was up coughing, man do I hate being sick) I started thinking it out in my head, and I came up with all these intricate storylines that I don't think would work in an RPG, simply because everybody would have to know everything that was going on, right from the start. But I still really want to play it. ... And write it. So I might do both. :-) I don't know yet, though.

Secondly, today I had Cinnamon Toast Crunch on my vanilla ice cream. A fascinating idea (a friend of mine's idea, man that looks like some weird grammar, and it probably is incorrect). It was pretty good, but my teeth are too sensitive to enjoy it. Still, you might want to try it.

woh.

So there's an Ellie now on myOtaku ... making things only slightly more confusing. Actually they're not too confusing at all, it's just HC's talent with words.

I also decided to finally link my personal webpage with some more information about the real, non-terra Ellie on it, so that's in the Introduction now. Actually, I just updated the layout like, the other day, so a lot of the content is gone. But you can still head over there and stalk me if you'd really like, though I'd prefer it if you didn't. Except you, ________. *mwah*

Er ... there's really nothing else, except "The Game," the only football game I ever attend (and didn't even end up going to last year), is coming up on this Saturday. More importantly, Thanksgiving break is coming up!!! Yayayayay! ... I still have to do my p.chem homework before that. BooOOOooOOoo.

procrastination station

Somehow the title reminds me of those grammar videos. I forget what they're called ... you know, "Conjunction Junction" and those. Oh! School House Rock.

Anyway, ... I really don't have that much procrastination stuff to offer. You guys should help me out. Here are my humble offerings though.

20 Questions online. It really can guess pretty much anything, though not always in twenty questions. My boyfriend tried "supernova" and it got it eventually. It's freaky.

The End of the World. My new favorite. (Vulgar, don't watch this with your mom in the room. Unless ... well I won't go there.)

RPG World Comic. If you like video game RPGs. Which I do. His other stuff is good too.

Ping-Pong Matrix. A bit old so you've probably seen it, but if you haven't ... Plus it's always worth a second or twenty-fourth watch.

Mentos commercial. Disturbing. But hysterical. (And violent, by the way. Well, not really.)

So ... what have you to add to my pathetic list?

a marriage idea.
(For those of you not on OB, members often "get married," which constitutes putting a "I'm married to ____ as of ____!!!" message in your signature.)

I think it'd be really funny to put in your sig that you would only accept marriage from one person, and see how many proposals you got from people who were curious as to who the person you were "saving yourself" for was. ;-)

randomites

Woh. The Queen (Tori) got pissed.

Actually, I was a little annoyed too. There were tons of amazing writers and towards the end it was down to Tori, Ken, and to a lesser extent me, D'Ann, and Jenna. Which is why I stopped posting about a week ago. ... Sorry Tori, and Jenna.

I do feel like people are too willing to let RPGs die. I realize I hadn't posted in that one for a week, but there were others who hadn't posted for much longer. Then again, I don't always have respect for those RPGs that shoot to ten pages in a week either, as they're often a little ... sloppy.

I get the feeling I'm going to get burned for this post, from some region or another.

I think Laeth E'Thae currently has a rather decent chance of ending, although I'd guess we were perhaps only halfway through it. I also happen to think that When Humans Are the Enemy has a decent chance, even though it's on the second page right now. And I have hopes for The Quest for Zubeida's Gold. But I won't make any hopeful predictions on that as ... it hasn't started yet.

All right enough of that.

An ad, I suppose: you really, really should go read Heaven's Cloud's post (hm that was an odd grammar thing) on this page. It's a battle thread where we determine what "genre" the other has to post in. I am in awe of that guy. It is a priceless post.

The whole thread is pretty amusing, though. My own parody power is a little weak, but ... oh well.

mwar.

Hm. The title was supposed to sound sort of like a cat noise, but ended up just being odd.

Anyway, it's procrastination central here at Ellie's room again, as I have a lab report due Monday and it's positively a terror.

What did everyone do for Halloween? At my school there's this very odd tradition ... the symphony orchestra puts on this "show." They play a non-speaking movie made by a student, to which the orchestra plays the background music live. The president of the school usually makes a cameo appearance, and at one point in the movie the main character is usually seen running into the auditorium where the movie is played, and then he comes in live and talks to the president for a while. It sounds weird, and it is. But it's usually really good. Unfortunately, this year the movie was a piece of crap, so all my friends and I were disappointed.

As for my "costume" ... well, I'm not a fan of Halloween, you must understand. So I seldom, that is never, spend any money on a costume. This year I wore a football jersey of my friend's and put a price tag on it. ... Get it ... it was a "new jersey." Yes, that's my home state, and a pathetic tribute to it.

I have a new idea for an RPG, spawned from something Arcadia said, but I haven't had time to write anything of it up. But I do plan to put it into the Arena at some point. And it'll be something fun and dumb, but hopefully also able to evolve into a good story. I considered signing up for Kill Adam, but I don't think I'm going to in the end. Well ... heh, I'm still debating.
