A Great Ending to a Bad Week
Before I start ranting on about how great today was, let me just start with how horrible this week has been for me.

First, I still had that same stupid head cold from two weeks ago. Also, I had most of my major quarter finals this week, so I had to really hit the books and study, if I didn't, I wouldn't get the grades I need to maintain my GPA and keep my scholarships. Then on Tus, the worst possible thing happened, I got even sicker. I woke up that morning with a bad pain in my side, then I had to leave my music apreshiation class early, because I... lets just say, wasn't feeling well. I had to put myself on pain meds for the good part of the week. This is also the first time I've gotten really sick since coming up here. It was really weird, and a bit scary, going from having my mom take care of me to taking care of myself.

Well, finally getting my pain, and other alments under control, I took my exams. Yesterday was music and I just found out today that I got a 96% on it. Today I took a poetry test in english (only worth 10% of my grade) and my biology final, which I need to make at least a 92% on to get an A in the class. I also got back my last english paper and got a C on it, which was my goal (I suck at english).

Later on, the good just continued when I finally got my monthly letter and check from my aunt (she sends me money every month). I'm finally starting to feel alot better and I only have a minor exam on Mon, which I don't really need to study for. Now it's Fri and I'm just gonna relax, browse Otaku Boards for a bit and read my newest issue of Shonen Jump.

Valintine's= Love Poetry and Killing Stuff
Sorry for waiting to post this, but I couldn't get on the site yesterday for some reason...

Well, as most of you know, yesterday was Valintine's Day, and for those of you with a significant other (ie. boyfriend, girlfriend, etc.) I hope you had a good time. But for us single folk, this day usually sucks.

The day started off well enough, we read love poetry in English and I like poetry. Then it got sucky really quick when I had to take a test in Biology. By the end of class, I really needed to let off some steam. Luckily next was Animal Science lab, and we got to kill stuff. Ok, not random stuff. Our teacher thought it would be funny if we went to the meats lab and helped slaughter two pigs on Valintine's Day. Now before you guys start calling me an inhumane killer, meat is part of the human diet and the pigs were unconcious when they were killed (as per lawful regulation). Sorry to go off on that tangent, but I've gotten yelled at way too many times by radical vegitarians.

   I'm back... with a cold
Well, I'm back up at school now after going home for Mardi Gras break. It was pretty fun; I got to go to some parades and I saw some of my old friends from high school. But I'm rested and ready to work my butt off for the next two weeks. The only problem is I've got this killer head cold.

I'm now more determinned than ever to get into vet school after visiting LSU two weeks ago. Its going to be really hard, but I think I can do it. Just need to make as many A's as I can in my science courses.

   Who Knew...
Well, who knew, the day before my birthday would be one of the best days I've had in a while. But let me tell you, it didn't start well. First I had to get up at 8am yesterday morning so I could go to the science building to finish my research project. Why? Because I'm the world's worst procrastinator. So anyway, I went to check my mail and not ony did I get some b-day cards, but my grandmother sent me a king cake, and not just any king cake, one from the best bakery in the New Orleans metro area, Haydel's. It's not like there aren't king cakes up here, but only crappy, stale ones. (King cakes have to do with Mardi Gras, by the way.) Well, besides that, I got money in my cards, and someother people wished me "Happy Birthday!" Plus I didn't have any classes yesterday. All in all, it was pretty good.

One final note, I still don't know how to custom the main background (the one that's plain blue right now). Please, can someone help me with this.

   B-day week/ web help needed!
Well, just as the title says (the first part of it) this week is my birthday. Yes, I turn 19 years old this Friday; I feel kind of old. Anyways, there's really nothing special planned, besides the fact I'll get cards from random family members in the mail (hopefully with money), and my parents will most likely call me Friday afternoon. This is because my friends and I celibrated mine and some others' last Friday (multiple b-days in a 2 week period). We went bowling (I won), out to eat, and saw "Electra" which was okay.

Now, onto the second part of this post. I need a little help with my page. I need to know how to put special/custom backgrounds on the main part of this page, not just the back part. If you know, and I know some of you do since you have your pages set up like this, please tell me. Please!

   Is it over already?!
Is it just me or did the winter break go by really fast? But really, I'm sorta glad to be back at school, now that I've finally gotten back into the swing of things.

The holidays for me were okay, though I can't help but feel a bit dissapointed. I didn't really get alot of money (I prefer to buy my own stuff), and the only gift card with a lot of money on it was to a department store, which the only thing I can think to buy there is cloths, and I'm not really a cloths shopping kind of person. Why couldn't I get a gift card to Best Buy or Barns & Noble like I asked for. Sometimes I think my parents actually like ignoring me.

PS~ My birthday's in two weeks!

I Bought Presents (and other things too)
Well, last week I was able to get my Christmas shopping done. I've also been tweeking with my Photoshop program, and in the process I've made four holiday greeting which I've submitted. When ever you get the chance, check them out below and let me know what you think.

Getting back to holiday news, I get off this Friday so it'll be that afternoon that I drive back home. I'm going to try to take a different route home, which could save me about an hour of driving time. This is good since I'll be leaving around 1:30-2pm, whenever my last class lets out.

Links, Links, and More Links!
Well actually I only have two links to sites, I'd just thought I'd share with y'all. The first of which is a link to Dancing Chaos's message boards site, Crazy Discussion. I kind of feel bad for her since she set up this really fine site and she doesn't have many members yet. I'm not pressuring you guys into signing up, just if you have a spare moment, check it out.

Now to the other link. Now as many of you guys may know, I'm from New Orleans. Back home we have some traditions and songs that are just specialized to that region. Some of these songs are done by a local singer, Benny Grunch. And just because I think that more people should know about New Orleans' unique holiday customs, you can click here to see some of the music videos he's done. Now most of you may not know about any of the things or places he mentions in his songs, but if you've ever been to or lived in New Orleans and have never heard of Benny Grunch definatly click on the link above and see if you can figure out all the places he's talking about.

   Is Christmas Here Already?!
Now don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, in fact, it's my favorite holiday. I'm just surprised that it got here so quick.

Well, I'm back at school now. I spent the good portion of today driving so I'm really tired right now. I also wasn't really able to get online much during the break. Both my mom's house and my dad's house have dial-up connections with no extra phone lines. I'm not saying dial-up is horrible, but I guess I've gotten spoiled with the high speed LAN connection I have here.

Well, later this week I have to do x-mas shopping (a pain but it has to be done). I also need to get a can openner for our dorm room partially because my mom sent me food in cans, but mostly so I don't have to take Violinagin to the hospital since she insists on openning cans with a pocket knife.

Well more on the happening of my holiday season later.

   Driving Problems
Well, tomorrow's the day I finally make my trip back home. So far it looks like the weather will be okay. As I promised earlier, I'll tell you guys why I get so freaked out about driving in the rain.

About two and a half years ago, my dad was driving me to summer camp. It was an away camp about an hour's drive away, so it involved going on the interstate highway. We had just crossed the state line between Mississippi and Louisiana when it started to rain. My dad, of course slowed down due to the conditions. The next minute went by so fast, it didn't feel real. First the car hydroplaned (that is when you go so fast through water on the road, you sort of "float" across it). Then it spun out of control, bumping up against a cement wall on the edge of a small overpass. Finally we ran off the road in a ditch. I guess after typing it out, it doesn't seem so bad, but being in that car, knowing it could have just as easily gone much worse, gives me such an uneasy feeling.
