AKAGAKHG.... I can't decide if I want to take a break or keep on truckin'.... Apparently I want to keep on truckin' today cause I felt like posting...

ANYWAY... Life has been extremely stressful this last week. Its the last week of classes so I have two papers and a presentation. The presentation is the worst bit because in a moment of weakness I agreed to work with a girl I didn't know because she "needed" a partner to present with. I can see now why she needed a partner. I've designed the power-point, including a game we're planning on playing, basically came up with the entire speech element, with a few sentences of input... but not much... so a 30-40 minute presentation for the two of us, largely written by myself, or a 15-20 minute presentation written by myself... I should have done my own damn presentation and not given into the plights of others. On the bright hand, she's done about 75% of the typing. So I guess my fingers get a break in there. But she looses helpful points by not writing things how I say them. Which might seem egotistical cause you know... My Word Is The Word Of ALLLLLLLL!... Thats not so much the issue as she modifies what I say, removing words or re-writing the entire sentence so it either doesn't make sense (due to missing words) or it doesn't say the same thing as I was trying to convey in the first place (because shes re-worded it, not understanding what I was trying to say in the first place).

For the record I'm done with group work... unless I can be the slacker, allowing the smart person to write the whole presentation, so I can go in and fuck it up.

In other news I got a conditional acceptance to a university that is about an hour south of where Im at. Basically I could only do the first two years of my degree at the community college Im at now.... So I have to go else where to finish the last two years. The only place in the province that I can finish it up is an hour south and full of red-necks. So THAT will be fun.

Speaking of the uneducated, illogical, and offensive... I was on the bus to school the other day when I made the mistake of engaging in conversation with another woman on the bus (Unlike engaging in a conversation with myself that always just leads to a fist fight). I had seen her around the college a few times and my usual assumption is college=educated=semi-logical and enlightened which should = semi-bearable conversation. After spending the first 15 minutes of the bus ride bitching about how she couldn't get into the program of her choice because someone was out to get her, she spent the second 15 minutes of the bus ride trying to convince me that the way to salvation is through accepting Jesus Christ into my heart. I politely held my tongue for the majority of the bus ride but took a moment to explain that I believe that being a good person should be separate from being religions.

Some of the most awesome, supportive and loving people I know will have nothing to do with religion. It probably didn't help her argument that she spent the first 15 minutes worth of public transport criticizing and hating on the people who were "keeping her down". I feel like people use religion as a method to justify doing horrible things to other people and still feel good about themselves at the end of the day. I don't think going home and praying for ten minutes is going to justify or make up for treating someone horribly because they're different than you.

They whole thing on the bus just left me with a bad taste in my mouth... I didn't appreciate being preached to. Im pretty much dedicated to the idea that if there is a heaven and a hell... Im more likely to go to bad place than the good place. Mostly because Im a horrible, bitchy person who likes to complain. But I will stop and help a person who looks like they need help... and I dont mind holding the door open... but I dont do it to ensure my place in the afterlife. I do it because its the right thing to do.

And because I believe that if I screw someone out of what they have coming... Im probably going to get screwed somewhere down the line to make up for it.

/Rant

In other news... I got a fucking AWESOME Killer Whale coffee cup. Its awesome cause they're KILLER FUCKING WHALES.

I've been thinking a lot about romance, relationships, and love.

There is a great deal to think about.

So... I should apologize for being a bit lame about the commenting and posting lately... I do make an effort to read posts, but occasionally I'm just not sure what to say at the end of it all. Sometimes the only thing I can think to say is the cliche "Don't worry, it will get better!" or "Gee whiz... your day sounds like it was awesome!" and I think that's kind of a lame comment to leave. Lamer than nothing at all... Same thing applies to posting. Why should I bore you, my kind readers, with boring, lame posts? You don't deserve that...

So anyway... I hope everyone has an awesome Christmas...

So far mine has been better than expected. My boyfriend and I spent today at my parents house, had dinner, played with the new puppy my dad got, and opened a few gifts. Mostly my boyfriend just opened the gifts that my family and I got him and I opened my gift from him. I got him a CD he really wanted and I made some "coupons" for things like back rubs and home made dinners. I haven't been working this semester so I didn't have a huge amount of money to spend on anyone... Which made me feel kind of bad when I opened the gift he got me... Which were two tickets to see Guns and Roses... My favorite band is actually opening for Guns and Roses so Im super stoaked to see them play a big arena concert in Canada. Guns and Roses is just a lucky extra.

Anyway... I hope everyone has a good and safe Christmas/holidays.

Yeah... I went there...

So, been kinda busy.... Kind of just not around the computer.... so yeah... Not an excuse. Just an explanation. Finally got through all my exams, I got a few of my marks back and I was pretty happy with them...then I got some french stuff back and I was very upset with the marks considering the time and work I put into the assignments. So French kind of killed my happy buzz for being done for the semester, but seeing as French ruins everything but fries I shouldn't be surprised.

Spent a few days with the boyfriend, wrapping presents and shoveling snow and geocaching and watching Christmas themed movies. Having a grand old time.... Later today Im headed out to my parents place to stay for a few days. They just got a new puppy so Im excited to see her.... Shes only 8 and a half weeks old so she is suppose to be cute. ^.^ In the mean time I might go make some cupcakes with Boyfriends little little sister (not the one that bothers me, the younger cute one that is just cute).

So yeah.... thats whats been going on up around here... We'll see how often I post.... sometimes I have lots of time, sometimes Im just to lazy to do anything....

How is everyone elese's Christmases progressing? Gifts all bought and wrapped? Trees all decorated? Hmmmmmmm?

I fell for your jivin' and I took you in
Now all you got to offer me's a drink of gin
Why don't you do right, like some other men do?
Get out of here and get me some money too
Why Don't You Do Right- Peggy Lee

Only one more final then I'm free till January! I can't wait to be done. Its my French final so Im a bit worried Im going to bite the dust. I've been doing fairly well in all my classes except for French. So you know... wish me luck on that...

I've been considering making a wallpaper challenge... I entered my first one a little while back and I thought I put a good effort in. Im not saying I deserved to win, but I thought some of the entries were let downs compared to what they could be. I'm a bit of a Nazi when it comes to wallies. I don't like it when a person just edits a screen shot. I like to see more effort put in than just some (i.e. minimal) color modification. Its not horribly hard to throw in a texture or something... I dunno... I know its just an amateur site.... but some of the wallies I see on here are phenomenal and I feel it cheapens the effort that was put into those amazing wallies when they're compared to a re-sized screen shot. And I do think that some of the re-sized wallies are crap... It may be suggested that its not my place to judge and that those people put in just as much effort as a person might put into another wallpaper, but its like comparing a five-year-old's scribbles to Picasso... Picasso costs more for a reason. I wouldn't say these things to be mean, I'm just think sometimes the general public doesn't know whats good for them... *lesigh*

I suppose I'm a bit frustrated feeling that it doesn't matter how much work I put into a wallie, unless its the right character its not going to be acknowledged. *self-pity moment* /rant

So how was everyone else's days? I'm kinda sad because (besides my obvious wallpaper issue) one of my favorite hip hop groups is playing a few different concerts in the province this week but due to exams I'm not going to be able to make one single show... Its really hard being a groupie when exams get in the way...

So, is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with.
Cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish.
I've seen more guts in eleven-year-old kids.
Seventy Times 7- Brand New

So I've been off and away the past few days. Spent a few days up north with the boyfriend's family to celebrate an early Christmas.I got a few small gifts and I gave out a few small gifts in exchange. We had the family gift exchange where everyone had drawn one name and that was the only person you HAD to buy a gift for seeing as his family is kind of huge. So I got one of his step-sisters and she had me in exchange. I made her a doll themed around an inside joke we had and she loved it. In exchange she got me a TV series I needed to complete one of my current collections. I was happy she liked the doll as the more I worked on it the more I was worried she wouldnt like it. I had been told not to worry about it, but I tend to worry about silly things like that.

A few other things occurred while we were up north. Boyfriend's parents are split up and his dad works overseas so we dropped by his house to check on everything as a favor to him. Boyfriend's slightly younger sister had been living at the house up until recently but due to some issues she moved out. Boyfriend and I werent very impressed to find how she left the house and on top of shoveling snow and checking the vehicle we did some clean up in the house. Neither boyfriend or I were very happy with the fact that we had to clean up after his sister but I pointed out it wasnt fair that his dad had to come home to the house looking like a complete mess. I'm not a huge fan of boyfriends slightly younger sister due to the fact that she's not very good about taking other people into consideration, and she tends to have sticky fingers. I dont really have patience when it comes to people being that inconsiderate of people and being that untrustworthy. There's always more to the story but I dont feel like going into detail.

I had a final to hand in on Monday and another test Tuesday which went ok. At least I think it went ok... I had today (Wednesday) free from exams so I spent most of my time chilling out and finishing up some final Christmas stuff. Im now 99% done... I keep thinking of other small things that need to be done so I dont think Ill ever be completely done. At least not until Christmas day comes around.

Two more finals to go in any case... One tomorrow and my last one on Friday. Im looking forward to being done this semester. There are a few classes I pretty much lost interest in after the first month or so.... So it will be nice to be free of those.

In other news... I changed the site up a bit. I thought about changing the theme and throwing up a background and such, but then I decided its something that can wait until after finals are done. Let me know what you think of the changes.

Im off for a night of sleep. Hope everyone had a good day...

And it feels so good...
Musics in my soul I'm comin up
Don't it feel so good..
People keep rockin it yeah
Feels So Good- Kyprios

So I'm 95% done all my Christmas stuff... I still have a few smallish things to get but otherwise everything is wrapped. They still all need tags though..... Oops.

Because Im a poor college student most of the gifts I'm giving were either bought over the summer when I was making money or crafts that I made. Im really hoping everyone likes what I got/made them. I have extra gifts to get/make this year because its the first year Im celebrating not just with my family but also with my boyfriends family. Last year we had only been going out for a few months so we had separate family holidays. Now that we've put up with each other for more than a year we figure its time to torture each other's families as well.

So this weekend I'm headed up to the big city north of myself to have an early Christmas with his mom's side of the family (his parents are separated so they have separate holiday goings-ons. Sadly I also have two exams in the morning and afternoon before we head up north... So I'm a little stressed. And what with the weather being really gross right now I'm a little worried about being stuck there or not getting there at all.

But I am looking forward to spening time with his family. Sometimes I like his family more than mine... Sometimes...

What do you look forward to at Christmas time?

If looks could really kill,
then my profession would be staring.
Please know we do this cause we care
and not for the thrill.
I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spot Light- Brand New

So.... I just realized that in comparison to a fair few other people.... I'm kinda old....

I remember the days BEFORE cell phones... Which seems kinda of impossible..... I remember playing on Mac computers that just had the green screen with a green arrow... I had an old school GameBoy...

And I remember a time when I didn't get calls at 10:30 at night, during my Glee watching hours and don't worry cause it was just the fall finale, because "The computer isn't working and its all your fault cause I opened a file of yours that one time and now the program isn't working" (Not a direct quote but the direct quote involves more profanity than I think I deserved). My parents live half an hour away and I see them generally twice a month. I'm fairly certain I didn't do anything to the computer... But there's always that possibility I suppose...

Anyvay... How was everyone else's day? I slept till noon, so mission accomplished.

P.S.Thank you everyone for your input. Its hard to know what to provide the customer when you dont know what the customer likes... And now I understand worlds... they're like a cleaner version of the MyO... Psht.

Way to long I've tried to be
What I could never be
For too long you've rolled the dice
But you can't control me
Superheroes- Edguy

Annnnnyvay… I managed to finish my last formal paper for the semester and I survived my last day of classes for the year. It was apparently very hard as Im feeling the need to comment on it.
In some ways I like how college is different than high school. If I choose to avoid class for a week, the teachers tend to not mind besides the few teachers Im on BS terms with. Those teachers tend to have some interest in how your life is going… and that’s ok… if I missed a week of school I would kind of be sad if none of the teachers cared. ANYWAY… In college… You’re responsible for your own performance and that is kind of nice as oppose to the teachers attempting to save every lost little lamb that doesn’t want to graduate. In other ways… college bugs me… My two last classes went till the very last minutes with information. In communications we did a small group review exercise. My group kindly nominated me to do the talking. Im slowly getting better at speaking in front of groups…

It drives me crazy when teachers force you to do class presentations. Not because I don’t like the work. I can suck up my distaste for being forced to speak in front of people. I can usually even make it entertaining for my poor poor colleagues. It’s the other people who aren’t very good at presenting that kind of ruin the experience. And perhaps Im being a bit judgemental… But presenting is something everyone has to do at some point in their life. It doesn’t hurt a person to learn to present with out the help of power-point slides. It drives me up the wall when a person simply makes a power-point, EVEN when the power point is AMAZING, and then spends the whole time reading off the slides. I just feel that in a second or third year class, everyone should be able to present with some skill. Even if that skill is just not reading the power point slides. /Rant

Anyway…. It makes me think I should be pro-active and try to help other people with their presenting problems and start a group or class or something… Then I remember that I’m far to lazy to find out all the steps to forming a group like that and I stew in my own small annoyances.

I was going to rant about something else but I suppose I got side tracked. I started making wall-papers again. In the break I took from the site, I didn’t really do a lot of photoshop stuff… but I have learned the joy of brushes… and I think my most recent wallies are pretty impressive compared to some of my older work… That being said, sometimes I don’t understand what passes for a good wallie these days…

What do you look for in a background for your computer? Color? Art? Character? Simplicity? Complexity?

P.S. Would anyone care to explain the concept of "Worlds" to me? Im at a loss as to what they are or how they work...

Said to me
Girl you look good enough to eat
Put his arms around me
Said “Boy now get your paws right off me”
Monster- Lady Gaga

So... I have a paper due in my history class tomorrow. It has to be 12 to 15 pages double spaced.... Im about two pages(single spaced) into it. *headdesk*

I really dislike writing on topics that dont interest me... And that seems to be all that school is about these days. Which I think is foolish. All we learn is how to avoid doing the work we loath... unless people out there really enjoy just learning about everything and anything....

Personally I get tired after a while... blagh
