end of all hope- a story that i have on fanfic.
Cha.1

It was late at night, Sally was getting the house cleaned up before Sonic came home.

She quickly picked up the dinner plates and put them in the dishwasher. Suddenly the door bell rung and Sally froze in place.

'I wonder who that is?'Sally thought wiping her hands on her apron and removing it from her around her neck, 'someone here this late at night?'

Sally placed her hand on the knob and opened the door, she gave off a gasp when she saw that it was the sheriff.

"Are you Sally Acorn?" he asked with a frown.

Sally gave off a nod, she didn't like where this was going and was even more scared since the sheriff was at her front door.

"Yes. Yes, I am," she said hesitating and felt her body began to shake.

"I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but you're husband died, in a car accident."

"What?" Sally whispered and placed her hand to her mouth, "when?"

"Around noon. A truck made a sharp turn and the back off it went off the road. Unfortunately his car was right behind it."

"No," Sally whispered again as tears formed in her eyes, "and you're sure? You're sure it's him?"

He gave off a nod and Sally felt her knees buckle. She fell to the ground and stared at it with shock, shaking her head with disbelief.

"I'm sorry, is there anything I can do for you?" he asked with a frown.

"No. No, thank you," Sally said trying not to let her voice fail her, ⌠thank you so much for telling me."

Sally slowly stood up and closed the door, tears streaming down her face. She forced her body over to the couch and sat down.

'Dead? It can't be!' Sally thought and slammed her fist against the table and gave off a scream of sadness, "NO!!"

Sally angrily flipped over the coffee table and wept some more.

'He can't die,' Sally thought through tears, "you can't leave me here all alone!" she shouted.

Sally walked into the bathroom and opened the cabinet.

'I have nothing to live for,' she thought, but roughly shook her head as she tried to erase all of the dark thoughts in her mind. She quickly slammed the cabinet shut and closed her eyes, "my life is all over. I have nothing left now. The one person that always made me smile is dead!" she mumbled without evening knowing that she was speaking.

Sally forced herself to leave the bathroom and pulled out a bottle of whisky. She poured it into a cup and started to drink it until she passed out, dropping the glass onto the floor.

Sally opened her eyes the next morning, her eyes were red and sore from crying and she had a headache from drinking so much.

Sally slowly stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. She pulled out a cup and filled it up with water.

'It's not a dream,' she thought putting the cup near her lips and taking a sip, 'if only it was.'

Sally was lonely, scared and depressed and without Sonic she felt there was no point in even living.

As she continued to drink the water, a thought crossed her mind that she mind as well end it all, end the pain before it got worse. She knew that she would never meet sonic again or fall in love the way she did with him. Even if she did her love for that person wouldn't be as strong.

Sally gave off a sigh and she threw the cup into the sink.

There was a knock at the door and Sally walked up to it. She opened it and gave off a gasp.

"Rouge...Shadow?"

"We got the news," Rouge said with a frown, "I am so sorry, Sal!"

Sally narrowed her eyes and nodded, "please come in."

Rouge gave off a soft yet sad smile and followed Sally into a room.

"We got the news from Tails," Rouge continued as soon as they sat down on the couch.

"Yesterday, the sheriff came and told me about the accident. It's just so hard to believe."

Shadow closed his eyes and stood up, he wasn't the type to listen to other peoples problems, only Rouge's.

"Expect the inevitable," Shadow said with no emotion and turned to face Sally, "Sonic isn't immortal, death would've came for him soon anyway."

"Shadow!" Rouge shouted and stood up, "what are you trying to say?"

"Sonic was a fool. Always doing things that were impossible even for him. He deserved what he got!"

"Shadow, how could you?! Sonic was a respectable hedgehog. Don't you remember how may times he's saved your ass?!" Rouge angerly shouted at her boyfriend, "I never knew how much you hated him!"

"What's not to hate about him?"

Rouge gave off a gasp and closed her eyes. She looked away from Shadow and gave off a sigh.

"Shadow's right," Sally sadly agreed and stood up, "he was a fool. He was impossible and everyone did hate him for that. Sometimes I did, too. Before he left, we got into an argument and he left without saying goodbye. Now I have a sense of guilt and it's all my fault!"

"Sally..."

"I know it wouldn't have made a difference, but I didn't tell him how much he means to me and it hurts so much. It hurts!"

"A word of advice," Shadow started, "don't go thinking about dark thoughts. Death does not solve anything, it only causes more pain and suffering for others."

Rouge smiled and hugged Shadow.

'To late,' Sally thought, 'I'm afraid it's to late for that, for everything. Advice wont save me, nothing will. I'm sorry please forgive me for what I'm about to do, but I never knew that it would hurt this much.'

"Sally, we better go. Will you be alright by yourself?" Rouge asked in a worried tone.

Sally nodded and Rouge frowned.

"Call me, alright?" Rouge said.

"I will," Sally said and watched as they left her house.

Sally closed her eyes and sighed, "I'm sorry, but I wont be calling you."

Sally walked up stairs to her room and opened a drawer, in the drawer was a gun.

"I'm sorry," Sally mumbled and placed the gun to her head, "but I'm ending everything now."

Sally placed her finger on the trigger and pulled it, her lifeless body laid in the middle of her bedroom floor. Sally had lost all hope.
