school, work, women.
so...schools started. i think im gonna like most of my classes. a couple of my friends last year were seniors are gone. im gonna miss them. um...my best friend and i are dating now. she transfered to another school tho so we can only see each other a couple times a week. i would go see her everyday, but i work 2 days a week during the school week and i also work weekends. i was planning on spending most of the long weekend with her, but they changed my shift from 8-2p to 12-8p. *flaming death glare* damn them. really thats all thats going on in my world. my mom's in the "oh, my little boy is growing up" mood because neko-chan's my first real girlfriend. she got kinda drunk last night and attempted to give me "the talk" again. then asked if i wanted her to buy me condoms. yeah, mom's crazy but i love her anyway. so...my class list is as follows

A-day-
~history
~english
~creative writing
~psych
B-day-
~newspaper (im now arts and entertainment editor)
~AP enviro sci
~acting
~art 3

marathon
holy crap, my eyes hurt and my neck is stiff...i showed up at the book store about 10:30 to wait for the new harry potter book. i had already reserved a copy. the air was think with anticipation as would-be wizards frolicked happily through the hallways. to bide time since the line hadn't formed yet, i met up with a friend of mine in the manga section (go figure *shrugs*)
i was enjoying myself flipping through random manga with OT or MA ratings and laughing at my friend's and little brother's shock when i showed them excerpts. it was rather embarrassing when i was looking through the pages of "battle vixens" and a mother and small child wandered through the aisle way. i hastily hid the volume so as not to further corrupt the youth of america. (note the use of the word "further")
the worst part of the night was when i found a, i shudder to even say it, hannah montana... something...mixed in the with manga. i literately threw it down the hall like a hybrid pro skeeball/ ultimate frisbee player. then i broke down and cried...
after about 45 minutes of that, i decided it was high time to get in line. i spotted an old friend of mine from my first semester japanese class. we had some fun, but i judge by the exasperated and sometimes outraged stares that we were offending those around us. we were lucky enough to be lined up right by the anime sction. oddly enough, i found and anime called colorful. i flippied it over to read the back cover and this is what it said.

"roses are red,

violets are blue,

this is a show about panties"

i swear to you on my honor as a journalist, (go ahead and laugh, bastards)these are the exact words. that sparked a lengthy conversation about...nothing actually...
anyro' the line started compressing itself, and we eventually moved up to the boxed set section. mixed in the all the random early nineties tv shows and the sopranos, were quite a few anime sets. there were two yuyu hakusho sets, outlaw star (which was very hard to resist), la blue girl, which i read in a book called anime explosion is actually H anime., neon genesis evangelion and a few others i can't recall...

then the line really started moving. i got my book in about 5 minutes after they started handing them out. i was so happy! *sniffle* it took at least 10 minutes to check out after that because a lot of people mistook the line for non-preorder potter-heads as the check out line. i only paid like 17 bucks!! please imagine me looking very smug at the moment.

i went home and got started at around 1 and read until about 4. then i slept until a little before 1 pm and then jumped right back in. i finished at roughly 11:30 pm. thats right people, i tore through 758 pages of wizarding glory in 22 and a half hours, minus 9.5 hours for sleep, bathroom breaks and supply runs. thats 13 hours of marathon reading. thank god today was my day off.

but i'll refrain from talking of the book itself for another couple weeks, to let the saner members of the community catch up. ^__^ so in other words, this was a very long post with a very short point.

p.s. i kind of used it to get back in touch with my reporters writing style, which often requires being very long-winded. ^__^ thanks for your patience reading it

i was never very good with titles...to anything...
ok, so for some reason my avi decided to appear where it was supposed too over night...weird...anyro' i gots a joke i heard today for you.

this joke has a kinda of mature rating, so if you don;t get it, then it probably went right over your head. if your an adult and don;t get it...thats just sad.

The Chicken and the Egg are lying in bed together. The chicken is smoking a cigarette and looking entirely pleased with itself. The egg, however appeared incredibly dissatisfied. It rolled over under the sheets and said, "Well i guess that answers that question"

TADAA! well i thought it was hilarious...

i really don;t have much to talk about still...its summer, i'm bored, all i really do is sleep, practice TKD, and work. so yeah...uh...thats really it...

oh, i want to thank yensid, bunraku and my little sister for getting me a couple autographs down at AX. (is that what it was called?) now ive got an autographed tsume picture signed by crispin freeman. i also have a signed full metal panic picture by Chris Patton (voice actor for sousuke sagara) but help me out here, what other anime did these guys work on? i know crispin was kurasu in
Noien, holland in Eureka 7, and Alucard. er...never mind, i found a list. but what other work did chris patton do? help me out here

oh, and if anyone wants to know, my avi was made using a program called unFREEz

saving an ecosystem!!
https://secure2.convio.net/dow/site/Advocacy?pagename=homepage&page=UserAction&id=749&autologin=true&s_einterest=C3C4&s_Affiliate=act_&JServSessionIdr010=nz1fkkiyo2.app24a

(heres what i wrote)

I'll say it outright. This proposed plan amendment is a bad idea. Killing prairie dogs will rip the bottom level right out from under multiple ecological pyramids, thus destroying many food webs.

Prairie dogs are the bottom rung on many trophic ladders. Killing off so many of them will result is the possible extinction of endangered species such as the recently reintroduced swift fox and black-foot ferret. These species, as well as many birds of prey, snakes and larger mammals, depend on prairie dogs as a primary food source. Prairie dog burrows also provide homes for burrowing owls, salamanders and the aforementioned black-foot ferret. Their tunnels channel rainwater to help reduce runoff and prevent erosion.

Many ecologists consider the prairie dog to be a keystone species, which is to say that they support the grassland ecosystem immensely. For this and the above reasons, I urge you to consider your actions carefully before making them. Killing an infestation on private land is one thing, but there are much better uses for our tax dollars than killing off prairie dogs.

Subject: Stop the prairie dog poisonings!

Dog-Gone Prairie?
Prairie Dog, (c) Dave Showalter

Black-footed ferret, FWS/NCTCPrairie dogs play an important role in the American plains. Several creatures depend on these burrowing animals for their livelihood -- including the endangered black-footed ferret.

Tell the Forest Service to stop the prairie dog massacre -- before it starts.

Take Action red

Please forward this message on to friends and family who care about wildlife.
Dear Josh,

Prairie dogs are an important part of ecosystems on the American Plains. So why is the U.S. government trying to use your tax dollars to kill them?

Tell the Forest Service to stop the prairie dog massacre, before it starts.

Last fall, more than 35,000 activists like you sent comments asking the Forest Service to stop the massacre of tens of thousands of prairie dogs on our National Grasslands.

Prairie dogs provide food for eagles, hawks, badgers, swift fox, endangered black-footed ferrets and other Great Plains predators. Prairie dog burrows provide shelter for burrowing owls, salamanders, black-footed ferrets and many other creatures.

But the Forest Service wants to use your tax dollars to poison and kill tens of thousands of these furry critters and destroy the vital habitat prairie dogs create in our National Grasslands.

Take action now -- write the Forest Service and urge them to stop the prairie dog massacre.

Tens of thousands of prairie dogs could be poisoned and killed -- but it’s not only these tunneling critters that stand to suffer. Because so many other creatures depend on prairie dogs for survival -- from burrowing owls to badgers, swift foxes to snakes -- the entire grassland ecosystem is at risk.

Help stop the Forest Service plan to poison and kill tens of thousands of prairie dogs. Help protect the balance of life on the American Plains.

After a similar rule change in 2005 allowed poisoning in National Grassland areas bordering private land, more than 70,000 prairie dogs were killed. Poisoning now occurs each year in these areas near private land, killing thousands of prairie dogs annually.

Now, the Forest Service is proposing to make it easier to poison and kill prairie dogs anywhere on three public grasslands. They’re even targeting an area in South Dakota’s Buffalo Gap National Grassland called Conata Basin -- key habitat for the recently reintroduced swift fox and our nation’s most important recovery area for the endangered black-footed ferret.

Don’t let this dangerous proposal see the light of day -- write the Forest Service now!

Thank you for all you do to protect our wildlife and wild places.
