   stay or go

I'm considering leaving here, or at least stop blogging here. I don't update here as much as I used to, preferring to use my xanga, myspace, and livejournal. I kinda feel like those show more of me as me anyways.

I'm just considering at the moment though.

Venting Crap and Powerpuff Girls

Been working on group registration for AWA. I have 14 names down, including my own, and about half have paid. It'll be nice to have that sent in.

As usual, no luck on the job front. No one I ever applied to called me back. I can't work with my dad because it seems that they have too many helpers already. My dad suggested that I go down to the local car wash and wash cars. I don't know why, but I'm hesitant to do that. I kinda just want to stay in the house and wait out the end of the summer. I really just want to have this summer over with. It already seems like a failure to me, and I want to get back to campus where I was much happier. A month and a half until classes start. I hope that passes by quickly.

It's kinda odd though. I'm fine most of the day, but when it's night, when everyone's gone to sleep, that's when I start getting down. It's just that I grew really close with my friends over last school year, and it's different than back in grade school. There, it was just a couple of close friends, and it would only be during school hours. At college though, last year mainly since most of my friends weren't there my freshman year, I get to attend class with friends, live with friends, go do stuff with friends, so on. For once, I didn't have my dad or anyonestanding over my sholder, asking why I didn't go out. I actually did go out, and somehow, I managed to form some sort of life, I think. It was a very odd and new experience for me last year, and I miss it. I really hate staying home all the time with none of my friends. I just can't wait until school starts and the anime club gets back into full swing.

In other angsty news, during the reunion, my little 13-year-old cousin almost laughed at me not ever having a girlfriend. He wasn't making fun of it. It's just that we were just talking about how his mom won't let him date until he's 15, which doesn't seem bad to me. I mean, I'm 20, and I've never dated, but that's not because anyone prevented me from doing so, except myself. Being alone all summer has given me time to think how being alone really sucks. Ok, I've been thinking about that well before the summer, even before last school year where I saw friends of mine pair off into couples. When I see them, most of all, I am confused. I honestly have no understanding of how people end up being together. How do people find each other? How do they meet across the crowd of so many others? Is there something I'm missing when looking for a girl, as if I ever learned how to do so in the first place. Sure, I have a jealousy of couples who have managed to fall for one another, but mostly, I find myself thinking "WTF? How'd that even happen?"

It may be possible that people have a crush or at least some attraction towards me and me not know. I don't like thinking that way. Makes me feel like I'm trying to be egotistical, thinking people have crushes on me, but it has happened once without me realizing, so now I'm paranoid about it. I get paranoid way too easily.

I'm going to hate applying for a loan. I'm going to have my stepmom look over the loan application since she worked in a bank and kinda knows some of this stuff. They had the genious idea to let me do it for the spring semester, as if I ever know what the crap I'm doing. I hate all this stuff. People are not being able to continue due to low grades. Me? My grades are great. Money should never have to be an issue like this. I know I'll have to borrow around $1500 for this semester, and probably some for next semester as well. This is all crap. I don't get how people get jobs at good places and I don't.

Next summer, I'm giving serious thought to living at my mom's or in the dorms and working on campus. I wouldn't mind my mom's so much, but I honestly don't want to help out all that much with my little stepbrother. I don't want to be mean or anything, but the kid is annoying. He often doesn't listen to me, so I can't watch him effectively. Plus, he bugs me way too much. He's only 6 freaken years old. He shouldn't annoy me like he does, but he does. I like my mom better than my dad, but it's actually easier to live at my dad's because I'm less bothered.

Wow. That's way too much depressing and annoying stuff. In other news, I saw Powerpuff Girls Z today, the anime based off of the Powerpuff Girls. It was...something else. Some parts were funny, and other parts were rediculous. I think the American Powerpuff Girls is still the better one.

Back From Arkansas

I got in last night around 9 PM, so I think it's about time to tell you all that I have returned. Yes, I know you all are overjoyed to hear from me after my weekend absence.

We left for Pocahontas, Arakanasa on Friday morning, around 10-11 AM. It was about a six-hour ride to there, and we finally arrived at the hotel around 4-something PM. We waited as my aunts and uncles and cousins arrived before we went off to go see the more distantly-related aunts and uncles and cousin. Oh, and this is the reunion of my family on my dad's mother's side.

The real reunion was Saturday. That's when a bunch of the family met up. There was a bunch of food. Chicken, ribs, pasta, bbq, pies, cookies, and so on. Good eating. Afterward, I tried to play some pool with my cousin before we went to a house of one of my dad's uncles, I think. Lots of family, so not sure on the exact connections.

We went swimming in a rock quarry. The water was really clear. It was really warm on the surface and colder once you went down a couple of feet. It was deep in some places. I spent a good deal of time under water, swimming right above the water floow at about 15ft deep. That was fun.

I was glad I brought some manga and comics to read. It kept me entertained at night, and I got my younger cousin to read some Hellsing.

We left Sunday after visiting all the family again to say good bye. The trip was about three hours longer than on the way there because of some major traffic jam on I-40. All in all, it was a fun trip, despite all the mosquitos trying to eat us all alive. The food was good though, and so was the swimming, and it was nice to see some of my relatives.

I guess that summerizes my trip well enough. Not much else then. Have a good Monday.

Long Live the Wiki

Tak called me yesterday, but I missed the call. Turns out he wanted me to tell him some DC or Marvel titles to suggest to his boss at Waldenbooks, help him suck up. I must admit, I own my major catching up in mainstream comic continuity to Wikipedia. You see, I have no life and no job, so I go through some of my graphic novels. When I get a question, it's off to Wikipedia. I start reading, and there's a link to another Wiki, so I click on it. It's a snowball effect. Eventually, I have about 10 wikis opened in tabs in one browser, just going through them all. Most of that all is comic book related, but not all. I was readong one on Superman's powers, and it said that he hears on a frequency that only blue whales hear on, and that was highlighted, so off to blue whales, and then killer whales, then sperm whales, and then Shamu's show at Sea World, all from Superman.

In other news, I'll be leaving Friday for a family reunion in Pocahontas, Arkansas. I'll be returning either Sunday or Monday. I'll be seeing some family and doing reunion-type stuff. It's been a couple of years since I've been to one, so I don't remember quite what all we will do. I will stack up on my comics and manga for the ride, and I may even take my portable dvd player. Just would need to charge it up.

Oh, and this is what I want for Christmas.

Happy 4th

So it's been another year. Right now, I'm home alone. The folks went to my stepmom's sister's house to launch off fireworks and grill out and spend the night. I opted to stay at home. After all, I just did all that over the weekend at my aunt's house, and there, I had my sister and cousin to keep me entertained. Fireworks on their own just aren't as entertaining anymore, and with no one else being there, I just stayed at home.

I've been working on setting up the MTSU Anime Club's group registration for AWA. I have names, and the cash should be in the mail. I am kinda worried about getting rooms since the Renniassance Weverly Hotel is filled. There are plenty of hotels near by though, so it should be fine.

It's so nice to have the club forums back up, even if not many people are posting on them.

Well, the stomach is getting that empty feel and growling noise, so I had best go fill it. Have a nice day.

Superman Returns

Superman Returns is definately worth seeing. It's a great movie. Brandon Routh perfectly fills Christopher Reeve's shoes as both Clark Kent and Superman. Kevin Spacy does a good job as Lex Luthor as well. Casting was well done

The story takes place as Superman returns from a 5-year absence, seeing that the world has been moving on, Lois in particular. Plus, Lex Luthor is out of prison and has some master scheme that Superman will end up having to stop. I believe that's as spoiler-free as I care to get on the story. It's pretty good too.

Special effects are also worth seeing. Superman uses most of his powers, aside from time travel like in the first movie, and they all look great.

Bryan Singer did a great job directing this movie, and everyone is signed on for a sequel, which is good because you definately want to know what happens next after this movie.

Now, just to wait for the impossible: will the Superman Returns game be anywhere near as good as the movie?

Back from a Weekend on Campus

It's been a nice weekend away from home and chores and nagging folks and all that. I just got back from staying the weekend over in a friend's room back at MTSU. Got to see plenty of friends, which was good.

I played New Super Mario Bros a lot. My friend Angelo wiped the floor with me in mulitplayer, but I did beat my friend Kawan. I also beat the main story in the game, which was fun too.

A good deal of the weekend was dedicated to Pokemon talk after we had looked up info on Pokemon Pearl and Diamond for the DS, one of which I shall get.

We stayed up last night looking up pics on 2chan and 4chan, which was very funny. We also watched an ep of the Naruto dub. I counted three or four "Believe it!"s. At least it's a funny bad dub, instead of a bad dub that you can't even make fun of.

We really didn't do much except hang out and do random crap, and it was great, just like backduring the school year. I miss doing all of that every day.

Well, now I'm back. I'll probably mow the yards or something like that sometime this afternoon Got to make sure I have chores out of the way so I can concentrate on going to see Superman Returns tomorrow.

   Bored...

Watched special features on the Howl's Moving Castle dvd today, ate some chicken and dumplings, and that's about it for the day thus far.

Ok, I'm getting bored. I'm thinking I should start trying again to get a job. I haven't done an application in a few weeks, and no calls from any of the ones I turned in earlier in the summer. I should probably try to call some of the places again. Maybe someone get fired at Waldenbooks or something.

Plus, it's getting even more boring here. People are often not online when I want to talk, and not that many people are posting on the forums or blogs, so I'm not given much to respond to. I guess everyone is out having lives for some strange reason.

Don't really know what club-related stuff to do, and club-related stuff is the stuff I actually want to do. Stupid summer away from friends.

Not much to do around the house aside from chores, tv, being online, and swimming.

Running out of things to talk about. Guess that's it. Bye.

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

I had to help my dad put up a fence today in our yard. Not fun. I got $80 out of it though. It's still not a job though.

I need a freaken job. My parents complain about it, and I do too. They keep bringing up the fact that I don't drive, and if I did, I might better my chances, but what would I drive. No way am I buying a car and paying for insurance and all that crap. Gas is high enough as it is, but I wouldn't mind that as much.

Currently, I have over $700 in the bank. I'll lose $200 when I finally turn in a dorm application for the upcoming school year. Been waiting for my hopeful roommate to do so as well, but I really need to get on this. So, that'll bring me down to $500, which is fine for tuition and room. With scholarships, I just have to pay around $400. This, however, does not include meal plan, which is about freaken $1000! Plus, books and what not, as well as cons during the year. Oh, and let's not forget that I really need to get a new computer.

I'm going to have to get the stafford loan for this year like I did last semester. I really freaken hate doing that.

Oh, and if anyone as heard about Spider-Man unmasking himself to the public in Civil War #2 and are wondering my thoughts, here they are: it's freaken retarted.

Here'sthe reason he did it: to show his support of the supehero registration act where all superpowered people must register with the government as living weapons of mass destruction.

This is a load of crap. If any superhero knows the necessity of the mask, it's Spidey. Two words: Green Goblin. Norman Osborn has known who Spidey is, and no good has come from it. Ask Gwen Stacy. Oh wait, you cant because she's dead. How about we ask Ben Reilly or the brain-damaged Falsh Thompson or the actress who pretended to me Aunt May or the actual Aunt May who was kidnapped twice by him. Now every supervillain Spidey has ever fought now knows to go after Peter Parker's friends and family. Sure he, MJ, and Aunt May live in the Avengers Tower, but not everyone Peter Parker knows is there. I guess there goes his teaching job.

Plus, I'm sure Jameson is pissed now too. Before, he just hated Spider-Man, but he had some trust and care for Peter Parker. Now, that's all gone, I bet. No swinging around the Bugle for a while for Spidey, I guess.

Wow. This whole post has been full of complaints. I find that a lot of my posts lately have been full of me whining about stuff, especially about me not having a job. Sorry about all of that. Well, everyone have a good rest of the weekend.
