Christmas Tragedy...
I don't much feel like recapping the events of my trip, maybe I will tomorrow or some other time. But I can say that I had a lot of fun.
But I just found out today that an acquaintance of mine died in China last Friday. She was fifteen years old and the few times I had spoken to her she was very sweet. She went to China with some missionaries to help them look after their baby. While she was there she got appendicitis and in a British hospital they operated on her. The doctor was clumsy and accidentally snipped an artery. She bled to death in four hours. At first her parents didn't think they would be able to get her body home. They were going to cremate her then send her back to The States. Luckily her parents were able to get her back and her body will be shipped in a casket home tomorrow.
My heart bleeds for her family. I can't imagine such grief, especially around the Christmas season. This girl had the same violin teacher as my sister. And her sister called the violin teacher, crying. She said she didn't have any friends because her sister was gone. When he told us this tonight at the Christmas party it broke my heart. She was the same age as I so it really makes me think seriously about my place in life. I hope God gives her family peace, and I hope they have a good Christmas. My prayers are with them.
