   [FANGIRL // catching up!]
hiyas! it has been several days since i last updated because i've been busy trying to catch up with my fanart & wp's & stuff. but yeah i'm finally done with the 3rd APE pic! (the one i worried about it causing potential discontent -- to say the very least -- among fanatic fangirls. ^_^;) the lucky couple this time is BAKURA & ANZU/TEA!! (don't hate me!!) u_u; i know i usually write a couple paragraphs explaining my reasons for the pick & evaluating their compatibility with each other. however, i'll forgo the procedure this time, for i assure you the decision was completely (well, 99%) random!! i like bakura, but i'm not a fan of anzu's (to say the very least). although she does have some good points, anzu's infatuation with yami yugi & her 'friendship speeches' (in the Eng dub) annoy me a lot. so i stick her with bakura the maniac just for the heck of it, lol. ^_^;; if i really need to think about it, the only thing linking anzu with bakura is their duel monster card of choice: the "magician of faith" & "change of heart." when you take their names/meanings literally, aren't the cards polar opposites of each other? since this is all i can come up with, i used this play on words for the caption in the pic.

aside from the YGO fanart, i also posted 2 RuroKen wp's this week. the 1st one is a mushy wp created from a screencap of kenshin & tomoe from the "trust & betrayal" OVA. the 2nd one is an oft' seen artbook pic of the hitokiri battousai (sans tomoe). this 2nd wp is really inspired by the many beautiful InuYasha wp's i've seen: if sesshoumaru-sama can look good standing in front of a full moon, i'm sure kenshin can too! ^^ ah, this is my first attempt making a full moon, so i hope it turned out all right! it was also kinda difficult changing the appearance of the night sky so it doesn't entirely resemble the one in an Ai Yori Aoshi wp i made earlier...anyways, hope you guys like it! ^^;

ok ok. enough about fanart. [warning: change of topic ahead] i went shopping this monday (yay! new manga!); and walking around in the real world outside of land otaku, i suddenly realized how warped my senses have become. and so i've come up with a list of symptoms "you know you've read/watched too much manga/anime when...":

1) when someone asks if you've any "plans," you immediately assume the person is asking about anime/manga release schedules and answer "yeah! i've plans! X is coming out on Y, i plan to go snatch it up where & when!"

2) during conversations, you begin to quote from anime charas AND you make sure the other person knows who you're quoting, even if he/she is not interested. e.g. "sorry i'm late. today i wandered a bit from the path of life...and yeah, just so you know, that's from kakashi-sensei in naruto!"

3) fangirl japanese & mannerism.

4) lexicon slips substituting everyday vocab with anime ones. e.g. when trying to say "Adriatico's" (nearby pizza place), you end up saying "Akabeko's" (Tokyo beef bowl place in RuroKen) instead.

5) when looking at prices of different merchanise, you value them based on how many volumes of manga (etc.) the same amount of money can buy. e.g. "$40 for a pair of jeans?!! i could've bought 4 manga's with that money!!" "$25 for a meal?! that's like 1 Slayers boxset right there!!" in short, manga/anime DVD units have substitued the dollar as your monetary unit.

...and the list goes on. tho it's quite sad if you can identify with any of them! ^_^;

lastly, i'll be leaving you with a pic of rin amami, the main chara of the shounen series "dragon voice" by yuriko nishiyama, featured here on the vol.1 cover of the manga released by TP. the ridiculously enjoyable story is, in a nutshell, about a guy with a horrendous voice (that'd be rin) who's trying to find his dreams in the pop idol world. could a 15-yr-old possibly be this hot?! and look, he's wearing red, my current fave color!! enjoy and ttyl! ^///^
