   [FANART// kouga!! ~ a new challenge!]

yay!! my kouga wp is finally up! in the beginning i was v surprised at the small # of kouga wps out there. so when i found a very nice screencap of him, i just had to turn it into a wp!! ahh...my fav wolf demon *sigh*... :P~~

this time, i tried to do something diff w/ the bgd to achieve more of a "dynamic" look, rather than, say, just simply embedding him into a landscape photograph. the end result is OK, i guess. and hope y'all would like it!! =^.^=

this definitely is an area i'll need to work on tho: my lack of talent at abstract designs. i remember that in art class, i always chose to do still-life rather than abstract drawings. and i'd pick photography over graphic design, definitely, any day. so i really envy ppl who are good at creating & designing stuff & can make awesome looking wps. by studying their works, maybe i can learn smtg & get some inspiration ne? ^_^;

(p.s.: thx kephren for ur compliments! i'd keep trying to do my best! ^^)

   [FANART// moonie at heart]

yippie! have just finished my "senshi of love" wp and am feeling rather proud. wonder how many ppl will be d/ling it though...lol. yeah yeah. the sizzle of the "sailor moon" craze had long bursted but still i guess no one can dispute the fact that "sm" is a *classic*. not only did it secure the popularity of the "magical girl" genre, "sm" also introduced anime to millions of yet-to-be otaku. anime/manga were really hard to come by before then, so i was shaken with joy and moved to tears when "sailor moon" was launched on network tv in 1995. i became a faithful *moonie*; even its wrongfully-placed time slot did not keep me away from the show. so every morning at 5am i managed to sneak downstairs from my room to catch the sailor senshi in action -- rain or shine, school day or not. lol...

though i've moved on to other anime/manga, "sm" is definitely still on the list of my faves.^^;;

so for myself and all the moonies & mina fans out there is my "senshi of love" wp! a tribute to my fave senshi: "sailor venus ~ minako aino"!! ^.~

   [LIFE// classic time killers]

labor day weekend - the 1st holiday break of the new school year - and among other things i spent it re-experiencing the *thrills* of gaming on our old comp...which runs on Windows 3.1. despite the fact that it's super outdated with poor graphics & navigation, the games that come with it are still as addictive now as the 1st time they debuted in 1992/93. in addiction to the everlasting "solitaire" and "minesweeper", Win 3.1 also features "cruel", "rodent revenge", "jezzball" & the awesome puzzle game "klotski". believe me. nothing can get ur cerebral juices running more than trying to free a irregularly shaped block from a space crammed full of other irregularly shaped blocks. hmm...hrs of fun...lol... ^.^;; if u've ever owned or played 3.1, i'm sure u'd know what i mean.

while going through old games, i also played a table hockey game called "slam!" its flat colors, minimal designs & 2D-ness really looks like a product of a high school computer class project. most amusing though is the _dorky_ phrases that litter the game. i.e. when u win the game by a huge margin (and this happens often) out will pop: "you cleaned my clock!! but i am not afraid of you -- want to play again?" ....huh...*sweatdrops*

   [LIFE// goodbye to summer indulgences...]

summer is quickly coming to a close yet i can't let go of those carefree days when i can freely indulge in anime & manga. hmmm. there are a couple series i've to finish watching (like "excel saga", "scrapped princess", and "soul hunter") and several more wp's i'd like to have made. the only obstacle btwn these goals and me is my fatique. *sigh* too much time spent in front of comp/tv is definitely damaging to my eyes. so ironically. this break from "summer vacation" might be a good thing after all. guess moderation is impt...even for a fanatic otaku. ne?
