She's got a new microphone.
I think my goal for this month will be to have the whole front page of myO be from the same month. Then again, I could cheat and limit it so that you just see one post...

Just kidding, just kidding!

I uploaded a new splash image and avatar. I have so much love for the Kingdom Hearts manga; it's really funny and the art is more fun than jaw-dropping gorgeous. I'm just glad I get to reuse the splash image as I coloured it from scratch. Very time-consuming and not fun on the wrist. :O And the Sora's-butt-is-on-fire aspect of my icon makes the five-year-old in me giggle.

Also, I just realized that the .hack//Quarantine novel and the first volume of the Kingdom Hearts II manga just came out. And I'm going shopping tomorrow. More things that I don't have space for on my bookshelf. 8) But, I really want the final novel because I never got the opportunity to play the game. I know more or less how it ends, but the novel should give me a clearer picture. And I'm totally in it for the Kite/Blackrose fluff.

Today/tomorrow's 7/7/07, so it must be super-lucky! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, then. ♥

Times Square can't shine as bright as you.
Ahaaa. So, I've been gone for about a month for no real reason. I can't really explain why. Maybe I'm just kind of bummed that it seems to have stagnated around here a bit.

I've also been failing at replying to guestbook signings (and I got my last one in March, so that's saying something). I'll get back to you, sorry! D:D:D:!

Lately, it seems like I'm everywhere and nowhere at once. My attention span and drive are very poor. I have a lot of ideas, but not the energy and patience (and time management skills, heh) to go through with them. :| It's driving me nuts.

As for the anime front, not much going on. I'm going to start Tokyo Babylon pretty soon because I hear it's a pretty good series. :3 I may watch some more D'eon soon, but it's hard to say. I've been reading books (again, my attention span and poor perception of time makes it hard) a lot more lately. :D

I have, though, seen some of the summer blockbusters. I've already seen Spider-Man 3 and PotC 3, and Ratatouille, Shrek the Third, Nancy Drew, and Waitress are up next. 8)

Aaaand, I'm boring today. Sorry. ♥ I'll make up for it in guestbook signatures and comment love.

Drama, drama, drama
Apparently, it's going around the 'net like some kind of very contagious virus. First there was the Strikethrough '07 thing over at Livejournal. That was a lot of fun if only because I got to see the Fandom Monster in action. 8) Then, I come back to find Drama in the comment box for the last podcast. I'm torn between exasperation and joy that people got so worked up over grammar. I'm exasperated because apparently people don't read carefully. That and some take the podcast to be srs business. And WHAT YOU DISAGREED THEN I SHOULD YELL! And people who try to be sarcastic, but fail miserably and end up misleading everyone.

But, it was nothing compared to some of the stuff I've seen on forums and Livejournal.

The joy is just my pleasure that grammar got a bit of limelight. I mean, when was the last time anyone debated about grammar?

And then there's drama IRL what with my situation with my friends. Two of them just broke up rather nastily, so it's all very awkward and difficult and angsty. It's hard to arrange gatherings when we have to decide who will get along and who won't and who will feel awkward and... Yeah. Very, very confusing.

Plus my personal, inner drama, which is always very not fun. =/

So, it seems to be a trend lately. I, for one, will be happy to wave it out the door.

Salsa puke?
Wow, I haven't updated in almost a month. I think the daunting prospect of making a new layout scared me away. ^^;; This isn't really it; I doubt I'll last long with the splash image and icon. But, the colours are fun, which is what matters. I love using colour to set the mood. 8)

So, what happened over the past month? Bulleted list to the rescue!

  • Took my finals and got my grades. Did pretty well, surprisingly.
  • Wrote some poetry for my Creative Writing final submission, at least two pieces of which I'm really proud of.
  • Went to a butterfly garden. Indescribably beautiful. Got to hold a butterfly on my finger.
  • Mom's birthday.
  • Went to see Spider-Man 3, which was pretty neat. Simultaneously reconciled with an estranged friend.
  • Mother's Day. Tried a frappachino, which is really just a fancy milkshake, apparently.
  • Went to my friend's birthday party. Played DDR and actually passed once. Ate many cookies. Geeked out.
  • Went to my sister's band concert. Got frustrated because I couldn't take photos properly because someone 6'1" decided to sit in front of me (and I'm only 5'3"). Enjoyed the piano solos.

Between all that, I've made a few icons (some I'm proud of, some that probably won't see the light of day) and played video games a lot. I should really be more productive, seeing as how I have a pretty massive to-do list, but I can't help it. Video games are so addicting (and I only play late at night, which is when I'm least productive anyway. It helps me clear my mind so I can sleep). I started Ico, which is mostly a puzzle game where you have to figure out ways to use and manipulate the environment so that you and Yorda can get where you need to go. You do have to fight some monsters, but it's not as battle-oriented as Kingdom Hearts or Star Ocean. Speaking of which, I beat Kingdom Hearts II. Well, I didn't do any of the tournaments or side quests (except Atlantica, but I think you had to anyway?). Oh well. I'm the sort of person that gets bored doing side quests. ^^;; I'm also randomly replaying .hack//Infection just because. I hate Mimics. So much. D< Stop charming my party, kthnx. I'm the only one allowed to be charming!

Anyway, I hope everyone's been doing well since I've been MIA. I know Shanny's having a hard time, so go give her some love! I tried to, but I wasn't really sure what to say that wouldn't sound insincere over the Internet. I'm so useless at that sort of thing. =/

Later, guys~!

Oh you tease you!
Ah, actually, last entry wasn't supposed to be an April Fool's joke, in case anyone was wondering. I just saw SG's posts and said "Hey, that reminds me of this spoof I saw once." I'm terrible at April Fool's jokes, so I usually don't bother. ^^;;

Also-also, I spontaneously changed my icon. No, my new theme won't be Spiral (mostly because fansites and thus image sources are a bit scarce), but I made it today and I'm kind of proud about it. Though, I do wonder a bit about the quality. I can't tell if it looks like I meant the image to look worn or if it looks like I just picked a poor-quality picture. =/ Any thoughts? C'mon, brutal honesty is a form of love! ♥

Not much going on, really. I'm almost done with this semester, and I'm looking forward to the summer. I hope that I'll be able to hang out with my friends more and do more this summer. It's not very relaxing to lounge around the house for three months straight and getting lonely and morose.

Nothing on the anime front either. How boring! I'm still searching for Tsubasa 10, and I'm starting to think that Del Ray is in cahoots with my local bookstore. CAHOOTS! Whenever I go, all I see is a bunch of copies of every volume except 10. Speaking of cruel, Squeenix is messing with me again. I went on the official Japanese site for Spiral to find that they added a new tab whose URL has "movie" in it. When you click on it, you get the dreaded "COMING SOON." They're re-airing the series in Japan and even dolled out Squeenix's (Japanese) main page in Spiral Alive art. Yet, all anyone knows is that there may be a movie sometime about something. They're horrible teases. Come on, Squeenix, you owe me for the hours I spent on Fullmetal Alchemist: The Broken Angel! A little info, please? Pretty please?

I'm gonna go drown my sorrows in pizza now. >(

Totally piggybacking on SG's posts.
Ohno! Not the Breath Note!

Ka-sneeze!
May contain spoilers? Also, not by me. (YouTube n1nj4)
(The video doesn't work anymore. Hunh.)

I need to get up early tomorrow to start Hell Week. I should go to sleep like three hours ago. Mmm...

Also, I re-watched Beauty and the Beast. I can't believe I forgot as much as I did! D:

Our sorrows to mend, our hearts to blend...
It's officially spring and that horrible monstrous thing, pollen, is floating everywhere. But, what's worse than pollen is the stress floating around. I almost feel surrounded. Stress at home, stress at school, now stress with my friends. I think I'd rather do battle with my allergies. =/ To top it all, I'm not feeling super!great, and the stress and pollen are making it worse. ERGH.

But, yanno, life is stress. Spring is pollen. You have to take the good with the bad, I guess.

Anyway, because I wasn't feeling well today, I stayed home instead of going on errands with the family. I did go out and see my sister's band performance this morning, but I was feeling so ick that I had to stay home and rest once we got home. Fortunately, they were showing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles marathon on TV (granted, it was the newer, 4Kids episodes), so I had something to keep me occupied while I rested. :3 Speaking of which, what's up with this new movie? I'm kinda disappointed that there aren't any guys in rubber suits. =/ That was good times. But, hey, the marathon helped me remember the names and colours and weapons of the Turtles. I feel so accomplished that I shall share my knowledge and probably make an idiot of myself.

Donatello-- purple headband-- big..stick...thing
Michaelangelo-- orange headband-- nunchucks
Leonardo-- blue headband-- three swords (just like Roronoa Zoro~!)
Rafael-- red headband-- dagger-y things

Is it sad that that's my biggest accomplishment of the day? -_-;; It kinda is, yeah. And for the record, Donatello is my favourite. I dunno why, but the smarty-pants of the bunch is usually my favourite character. :3

Mmmm, my appetite is still healthy, so I guess I can't be that sick. Time to go make some pizza. Cowabunga, dudes!

...okay, I probably should settle on a less annoying catchphrase. XD

Spelling dirty words on a Scrabble board.
Loose ends are for tying~!

-I'm done with work. I turned in my stuff today and got my final paycheck. I'm going to miss my coworkers, but I couldn't stand working there anymore. Oh well.

-I'm at the end of Spring Break. Pineapple Ramune and Almond Pocky taste very good together, by the way. Though, I might avoid fruit Pocky in the future because they're all starting to taste like banana to me (ick!)

-My sleep schedule has gotten ridiculous. I go to sleep at 4 or 5 AM and wake up at 3PM. I get about as much sleep as I need (yes, I need ten hours), but it's messing my timing up. That and I can't be productive late in the day, so I haven't been getting much done. And I only eat maybe one or two meals a day instead of three. =/ I guess this will need to be remedied.

-I'm honestly a little freaked out about school. I don't know why this semester is giving me problems, but it is. Maybe it's because I'm taking two sophomore-level classes, plus they're all night classes (which I've never had before), plus a scary history class as one of my sophomore-level classes (I'm okay at history, just not history essays). But~! Being negative won't do anything. I guess I'll just have to get my head together and try. The worst that can happen is that I fail and lose my scholarship. Failing so that I totally lose my scholarship is unlikely, given that I'm doing well in three out of my four classes.

-My closet didn't get organized over Spring Break, but it's getting done this coming weekend. It seriously just consists of a (sagging) clothes bar and a shelf; everything that doesn't fit on either is on the floor in little stacks. It makes it really hard to find stuff and everything gets messed up and squished. It's definitely been bothering me for awhile, seeing as how I like my stuff organized and tidy so that I can find it at the drop of a hat.

-I just got "Awake" by L'arc~en~Ciel in the mail (finally, geez), and I'm sure both Lost Heaven and Ophelia might explode from being on repeat so much. 8D

-I finally got around to watching Coyote Ragtime show, which was spectacular. I'm definitely going to catch episode 2 on my AoD channel. I also watched Best Student Council and was considerably less impressed. I also decided that I need a better memory/attention span because I keep forgetting to watch some of the anime on TV, which is regrettable. D:

-I just realized that I got promoted to Senior Otaku, which was startling. I kind of miss being an Otakuite, just because it sounded cute, but at least I won't get confused for a n00b anymore. :3

-I love you all~! I don't know that I'll be able to get a theme change in before May, so I hope you all really like my FMA pumpkin spice theme. =D

And...that's all that's really been going on lately. Or what I can remember at the moment. Bulleted lists are nice to read, yes?

Tabbed browsing will be the death of me.
Don't get me wrong, tabbed browsing is horribly convenient. Almost too much so. It's rare for me to have only one website open at a time now. :3 But, come to think of it, back in the days when I was using IE 6, I would just open a bunch of windows (so many that the taskbar was full). Hmmm... Maybe it's better this way. Especially since there's no way for me to be exclusively focused on one thing at a time.

Firefox = <3 Better than Dora the Internet Explorer (is it sad that I feel clever?).

I'm still feeling rather icky, but I managed not to get sick. The stress of midterms is making my muscles tense, and I somehow managed to mess up my left side while sleeping, so it's agony to pick up anything heavier than a pencil. =( And I'm sore from work. Siiiigh. But, I fully intend to ring in Spring Break with a Pineapple Ramune and some Almond Pocky (both are ridiculously delicious, I assure you). Though, I'll be spending Spring Break doing some Spring Cleaning. *pets overworked muscles*

Speaking of overworked, I'm quitting my job. I gave them my notice last Friday and this Saturday is my absolute last day. I'm not sure that they've gotten me out of the "active associates" list, but they damn well better because I'm not working past Saturday. I fully intend to enjoy Spring Break and to sleep and to have fun. I never realized how much working effectively six days a week (three days at school, three days at work) would wear on me physically and mentally. Perhaps I'm just a wuss, but I'll be glad to have more "me time" rather than making "me time" when I should be doing schoolwork or sleeping (like now).

Anyway, I hope everyone has a lovely week. <3 Mine shan't be. =(

My medical training? I played Trauma Center for 16 hours straight.
Work= ick. D: They had me dusting today, and I already have a minor cold, so when my allergies flared, it made it worse. Sales associate =/= cleaning crew. They really need to hire a good handful of maintenance people for reals. And the District Manager came in today and...well...let's just say it didn't go well. Hence the dusting to please the DM. But, I got to chat with one of the girls in electronics and we had some laughs. That's part of the reason I haven't quit yet-- the people are really friendly and we get along rather nicely for the most part.

Just a touch more bellyaching, I promise. I can't find any satisfactory cases for my little Zen. It's all naked and cold and sad and getting scratched. D: I guess I'll have to settle for the least terrible case. That's what I get for choosing quality over popularity. Secondly, the last two weeks before Spring Break are gonna suuuuck. Projects, midterms, papers...ick! And I'm probably going to be full-blown sick by then.

In news actually related to anime (what, I still do that?), I finally got around to watching Le Chevalier D'Eon at Bellpickle's suggestion. It's a really, really cool series. It's set during the reign of King Louie XV in France. It definitely has one of those vibes about it that make you think 'This'll seriously be a series with a lot to say and a lot to make you think.' Even if it doesn't deliver on that end, there's a good deal of action and intrigue. And it's pretty. Very pretty. You can see the trailer here (it's the high-res, Windows Media Player format trailer; check the ADV website for other formats and qualities). If you live in the U.S., you can download the first episode for free here. Why no love for other countries? I have no idea (maybe it has to do with the kind of license they have or maybe price differences across countries?), but if you're interested, you can probably find it by other means. :3

Le sigh. I guess I should sleep. I have to go back to work tomorrow. (I closed tonight, but I open tomorrow. Logic fail, anyone?)
