   Two e-mails,and Gecko-Torture! \/\/007!

I am going to see if my parents will take you to come and pick us up at the airport okay? So i hope you can come.
I have been very bad on friday i put a geko on chi quyen. The gekos are really cute over here and i am not sure why every one hates them so much. So while waiting to go shopping with hoa and her i finally managed to catch one. I then discovered that chi quyen veiws them as being the same level of horror as rats. So of course i snuck up behind her while ahn quoc (her husband) was watching and put it on her shoulder. She noticed it when it crawled down the front of her shirt. She proceeded to scream and dance around as the geko dropped to the ground and ran for cover. I was then seriously (sarcasticly) informed by chi quyen while she was shaking her finger at me, that she would never take me anywhere again. Of course 5 minutes latter we were of to shop for presents for everyone. Hieu's father thinks it was hilarious. Yesterday in the morning we went with a group of highschool students from finnland and thier veitnamese hosts to visit a historic site from the war. It was where common farmers turned notorious gurella fighters dug networks of tunnels hundreds of kilometers long. Of course they had been widened to fit tourists, but still you were crawling most of the time. I had an amazingly enjoyable morning crawling aroung in the and admireing the veitnamese's brilliance in design. Seriously these are works of genius. No american could penetrate them and they were built so that bombs coulnt destroy them. Cool huh. Oh yeah, and the leftovers from the americans (bombs, shells, tank parts) were taken and remolded into weapons for them to use. Oh yeah and dont forget the thousand year tradition of usin bamboo pit traps on invadeing soldiers you dont like. We went shopping for underwear for hieu last nigh and hoa, chi quyen aqnd i ended up with a lot more than that of course. Hieu was out rather late with exchange student freinds as well as the finn's. At a bar/ disco tech place. The current count of girls that are heaad over heels for him is 4. All of them falling for him within hours. Today in the morning we visited his grandparents for breakfast, then went to a luch party hosted by his father at the best restraunt in the city. Had fun tortureing him about choosing a girl. I am ruthless, and of course he pointed out that i as the reigning ice queen shouldnt comment on his way of doing things. Went home slept, then after a breif battle with hoa over what i should wear went out to get my hair washed and dried with her. Then home again, and got dressed up for the opening of hieus cousins and his fiancee's bridal shop. How should i put this. The girls parents are REALLY RICH, holding one famous restraunt chain, and various high end bridal shops. Seems to me that here i am constantly eating with very influential people and not realizeing it. Oh well, it was fun and trum was adorred by the girls brother who was talking to her all evining, YEAH trum, and they have promised to chat on line. Now it is time to go to sleep so laters.

I told you that long ago. and you didnt belive me. so ha.Here is the lastest in asia. Wednessday nothing exiting happened. Thursday i went out to lunch at one of the fanciest hotel buffet's in the city with hieu and his dad. We went to lunch there with the family of a female exchange student leaving the next day. (we saw her off today) and the food was great. I did learn the lesson of not inhaling while eating a bite of shortbreak cokkie. It had nasty painful consequences. Shortbread in the wind pipe aside it was great. That night we went out to dinner at a really tasy food place (i had no clue what the sticky white cover meat smothered in bean sprouts and fish sauce is called thuogh) and then had two glasses of kumquat juice. Very delicious. Then we went to the get every thing store MaxiMart. Hieu took his two small cousins to the arcadt while Hoa, chi quyen, chi li and i went shopping for instant iced tea to bring back to america. She also is determined to send us back with 30 kilo's of rice. That is about how much weight a person is allowed to bring back into the usa. I am not sure how to tell her that politely. We had a grand time and apparently i am very amusing to the ladies and at one point they were laughing so hard tears were running down their cheeks. We had a great time. Today i have been making many flowers, and chi quyen, hoa and i went prestent shopping at a really cool store. So that is all. write soon,

mika
