Tales of the Mercury Force...

Long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a war waged furiously on our home planet. This war was against the evil organization known only as "X". Lord Mercury valiantly led our mighty army against the dark force of X, defending the paradise of our home. But as the war waged, the paradise became wasteland. As time drew on, our numbers dropped, and our army grew weak. The last remnants of the Mercury Force fled the planet on a single spaceship. These remnants included Lord Mercury, the Mercury Cat, the Mercury Bat, and myself. We received a transmission from our home from the last of our army, days after setting off, stating that X had fled the planet as well. Centuries later, we landed in a small galaxy known as the Milky Way. We came to the third planet from the only sun in this solar system. It was the only planet inhabited by living beings. We'd been chasing X from galaxy to galaxy, trying to stop their evil forces from taking over. X has landed here, on this blue planet, to do their evil work. We are now recruiting the beings of this planet to aid us in ridding the Multiverse of X's darkness. Be on the look-out for shady-looking characters brandishing a barcode on the left cheek. It could be a member of X...
