   Gomen nasai~!!!

Konnichiwa!

Current Mood: Tired
Current Song: Bottom of death valley

Gomen ne, minna-san!!! It's Momo. ^-^ I'm so sorry that we haven't been able to post lately, Kyoko and I have been pretty busy. I've had exams and Kyoko hasn't had a computer to post a whole lot on!!! So, please forgive us-viewers of our humble site and Kyo. ;~;

Today I'll be reviewing Dir en grey's DVD "Rettou Gekishin Angya Final 2003 5 Ugly Kingdom"-also known as "5 Ugly Kingdom." The performance was performed in Yokohama Arena on January 1st, 2003. The playlist inclues:

1. "G.D.S." (not actually listed)
2. "Mr.Newsman"
3. "Hades"
4. "Umbrella"
5. "Zomboid"
6. "Children"
7. "Bottom of death valley"
8. "24ko Cylinders"
9. "-karasu-"
10. "Ugly"
11. "Gyakujou tannou keloid milk"
12. "-mushi-"
13. "DRAIN AWAY"
14. "-kigan-"
15. "The Domestic Fucker Family"
16. "JESSICA"
17. "Byou Shin"
18. "ain't afraid to die"
19. "FILTH"
20. "Karma"
21. "[KR]cube"
22. "Child Prey"
23. "Rasetsukoku"

Out of the 3 Dir en grey DVDs I have (MACABRE 00-01, GAUZE -62045-, and 5 Ugly Kingdom), this one is my absolutely favorite. As soon as you pop the DVD into the player and the comes comes on, you can feel the anticipation building up. The style is obviously that of DIRU. From the second "G.D.S." roars through your speakers, you feel like you're actually there. The picture quality is absolutely amazing and the sound is so clear that you can hear the fans screaming like they were right beside you. By "Bottom of death valley", my neck was sooooo sore from headbanging and jumping up and down to the music. Each song is filled with incredible emotion by every member, and it divides the screen time up pretty fairly so if your favorite member isn't Kyo, you can see your sweet heart on screen just as much. Also, they have multi-angle shots from "Children", for every member. Some of my favorite performances on the DVD are (not necessarily in that order):

1. "Bottom of death valley"
2. "24ko Cylinders"
3. "-mushi-"
4. "-kigan-"
5. "The Domestic Fucker Family"
6. "JESSICA"
7. "ain't afraid to die"

From all of the Dir en grey performances I've seen, I think that "-mushi-" might be one of the most heart wrenching. Every single time I watch it, I weep so hard that I have a headache afterwards (if I don't already have one from headbanging). The emotion in Kyo's voice is so incredible, that you can feel all of his burdens, pains, and torturing memories. As if he's suddenly slammed all the troubles of the world onto you, you feel crushed and helpless. "-mushi-" is truly a powerful song, but to see it performed is a totally different thing.

Also, this DVD has special features where you can see behind the scenes during different concerts such as "The Master of Monsters" and cuts from parts of others. It's pretty damn cool to see pictures getten taken that you have locked up in your Photobucket account. :D

Hands down, this is the best DIRU DVD I've seen. If you have the chance, please buy this DVD. It's the ultimate addition to any DIRU collection and you won't regret your purchace. You can find it at eBay (my personal favorite) and online stores that carry J-rock merchandise (such as chibitokyo.com). This DVD typically runs for $15-30.

Buy it! It'll make Kyo-sama happy!!! ^3^

Hopefully, I'll be able to get on eBay soon and buy "The Code of Vulgar[ism]", "It Withers and Withers", and perhaps "Despair in the Womb" (when it comes out and if anyone in aKnot will give it up -3-).

Quick question-who is going to the Inward Scream Tour? And if you are, can you please take a picture of you and/or DIRU if photography is allowed? I would deeply appreciate it since I'm not able to go... they're not coming to my state. Sadness. ;~;
