Chapter 3: Help a human Help a vampire
Sure enough the headmaster called me up to his office and asked me to be a part of the disciplinary committee. “Of course sir. I would gladly take the offer.” I said holding my head up high as I said it. I was given a sword that would come to me when I called its name just in case a few of the night class members got out of hand. I started that very same day. I was so happy that I got the job that I didn’t know that this job was supposed to be boring. “You seemed to be happy Lily. But this job can be dangerous at times so don’t take it too lightly.” Said Zero as if trying to warn me. “Hey don’t sweat it. I’ll be fine. I was born to face danger,” I said with a happy face. “So how is heaven like? I mean there are a lot of different ways people describe it to look like.” Said Yuki trying to break the anger that began to bubble in side of Zero.
“Well where I lived was a castle made of pale white stone. I mean I was a protector and nothing more. I had a sword like Serenity before to but it was taken away from me before I came here. The only person I left behind back home is my little sister.” I said. “What do you mean by protector?” asked Yuki with a puzzled face. “There are different types of angels. I am an archangel. Demons of hell try to destroy the castle were our controller lives and try to kill her. But as an archangel we must risk our lives to save hers.” I said a little unsure we should be talking. “Your controller is a she. But I thought god was a he?” asked Yuki. “God is our creator not our controller” I said explaining it to her. Tck, Tck. We heard footsteps coming down the hall. The night class was coming to enter their classes. We stood at our assigned posts. “Kaname, is this the girl you were talking about. She does not seem very dangerous.” Said a boy pointing at me. “Aido do you remember the saying don’t judge a book by its cover? She may seem sweet and harmless but she can pack a punch.” Said Kaname. “Serenity!” I said pulling out my sword. “You should listen to what people tell you, Aido was it. I am the new member of the disciplinary committee and you will not cause mayhem while I am around.”
“What ever. I don’t listen to people who don’t know where they stand.” Said Aido with a smirk. Click. “You had better take back what you said Aido because you are to respect us.” Zero said angrily holding his gun to Aido’s head. “I can fight my own battles Zero. You should return to your post.” I said to Zero. “I won’t have you protecting me because if one of us were to fall the other must take their place.” “This isn’t heaven Lily. We don’t follow those kinds of rules. We protect each other no matter what were to happen.” Zero said angrily sending the night class to their classrooms. ‘He is right. This isn’t heaven but I will stand by my own rules no matter what happens. I will not be another’s down fall.’ I thought to my self after Zero left.
“Finally we can go to sleep. See you tomorrow Lily.” Said Yuki with a big yawn. “You guys go ahead I think I am going to take a stroll on the school grounds. Good night you two,” I said with a slight yawn of tiredness. But right as they were about to leave we heard a large clash sound in the Moon Dorm. We all rushed over to the dorm. “It would seem a stray vampire came looking for blood to drink. What should we do?” I asked looking at Yuki and Zero. “I am not sure but we better help the night class before they get hurt.” Said Yuki. “Understood.” I said running towards Aido who was about to be attacked from behind. One quick swipe of my sword and the other vampire was down but not dead. “Why did you help me?” asked Aido looking scared. “It’s my job to help those in need no matter what they are.” I said breathing a little bit hard.
After we finished off the vampire it turned to dust and some of the night class vampires were badly injured. “Lily you go help the vampires over there and we will help the ones here.” Said Yuki. I nodded my head and began helping the vampires. I gave the blood tablets and helped them with their wounds. “I guess you really are stronger than you look,” said Aido coming up from behind to help me out. “Will you except my apology?” “Of course I will Aido but just remember that not all humans are as nice to help a vampire like myself,” I said with a smile.
Finally it was off to bed with both the night class and the members of the disciplinary committee. I was hoping that tomorrow wouldn’t be like today. That night my dreams were haunted by nightmares and I awoke with a startle. Will my dream come true or was it just a nightmare? Hopefully it would not come true.
