So.
Obviously I'm up and kicking, what with the OA and the releases up this week (thank God). Though, I'm still feeling a bit weird, and I don't know why. Case of the winter blahs, maybe?
Oh, and speaking of winter, it's decided it wanted to come 'round for a visit again during the week. Got hit with a damn ice storm around Monday or Tuesday. Left about four inches of snow and an inch of ice on top of that. Let me tell you, walking was a complete blast and by blast, I mean pain in the tailbone (at least for my friends. My inherent Midwestern ice-walking skills came through for me.).
But then spring came back and it rained, so it's mostly all melted now. There are still piles of slush ice around, but thank God it's not still covered like it was. You all can see a portion of how bad it was here. Not joking in the least, that's how all our trees looked. A few of them actually came down because of the weight. Crazy.
Anyway, how're you all doing, then?

So.
I was looking about the 'Boards today and I decided to wander into the Suggestions and Feedback forum, or whatever we're calling it nowadays. Information Kiosk, I think.
Anyway, I saw that Charlie had made a thread called "YOU FASCISTS!....my first complaint thread."
"Oh, glory," I thought.
Of course, upon clicking it, I found exactly what I was expecting: complaints about the staff being overzealous with their jobs.
Now, I've been with OB for going on seven years now (dear God, I feel old now). I've seen my fair share of people complaining about the staff being entirely too overbearing. But I'm gonna be frank here: Damn it all if I understand it.
This may be because I rarely venture out of the Alley, but I really haven't noticed anyone doing any of that sort of thing. As far as I know, we've toned it down. I'm not at liberty to go into great detail, but you can be certain that we've taken that stuff into account and we've made sure to reign all that in by a parsec.
But we're still getting flak from a lot of people. Raiha even called OB a "fascist state." Whether she was being facetious or not is beyond me, but it still makes me think...and slightly angry, not gonna lie.
I mean, it's not like we're not normal members until we have to do our jobs, but from my perspective, people are looking at us more like Big Brother than what we really are: members with privileges. This could merely be my specific point of view, but damn if it don't make sense.
I suppose this is mainly because I'm somewhat confused about the state of things and I would like a better synopsis of what's going on in order to go about helping to form a bridge across an apparently widening gap between the staff and the members, but... Well, I guess I'll just sit here confused in the meantime. :/

I'm not gonna lie.
I didn't have much faith in them.
But I'll be damned if that wasn't one of the best games I've ever seen. They pulled it out in the clutch and left the Patriots absolutely jocked. And I couldn't be happier about that.
Ya done good, New York Giants. Ya done good. My heartfelt congratulations.
(By the way, if anyone has a video of that game-winning LOB, please link me. Because it was that freaking epic.)

Fortunately for me, however, it is strongly looking like I will be able to write about the use of mythology in new media (i.e. television and video games).

So, who else is totally floored by the fact that Heath Ledger is dead at 28?
I only saw him in a few movies, but they were decent enough to make me sad that we lost a good amount of talent. I'm sure his family is pretty broken up about it.
How would you guys feel if you heard a sibling or another young relative had suddenly turned up dead?

So.
I've been watching Ergo Proxy with my club on campus.
All I have to say is this series is nothing but mindblow. Seriously. Just when you think you've got things figured out, it goes and say "YOU KNOW NOTHING, PLOTTWISTLOL," and happily goes on its way.
I'm at the point where I really don't know what to expect next. Hell, I don't even know who the main character is anymore.
Is this the sign of an epic anime? Discuss.

So, my holiday's coming to a close. I'll be heading back to school on Monday and I'm praying that I don't miss the BCS Championship (American college football) game or I will be some kind of pissed. Seriously. (GO BUCKS, WHOO!)
All I can say is, it's been really...uneventful, lol. There's not a whole lot that I actually did over break except for read the first Drizzt Do'Urden book (which was a damn good read, I think), beat Okami and started a walkthrough for it, got 90% through Skies of Arcadia: Legends, beat the main quest in Tales of Legendia, read a lot of manga I've wanted to from the library (it's a good place to run to when you're bored, I've found), started on my latest RPG concept and baked many, MANY cookies.
Well. Looking back, that's actually a lot, then, isn't it? Oo;
(By the way, Miss Anon, I got money from the family and various assortment of trading cards from friends for Christmas. That's it, lol.)
