   12012

12012 is a Kansai-based Visual Kei group signed to the independent label UNDER CODE PRODUCTIONS. The line up includes Miyawaki Wataru (vocals), Sakai Hiroaki (guitar), Suga Yuusuke (guitar), Enya Tomoyuki (bass) and Kawauchi Tooru (drums).

The name 12012 is pronounced "ichi ni zero ichi ni," and the meaning stems from part of the California Penal Code, referring to "individuals who are armed and prohibited from possessing a firearm." The band has performed under the name kyouki shoji (凶器所持,) which is a rough japanese equivalent meaning possession of a dangerous weapon.

The band concept is 「人間の内面における狂気」, the madness inside a human, which is reflected well in their visual presentation as well as their generally dark lyrics and music.

Kagerou BiTches!

Kagerou (蜉蝣) is a Japanese Visual Kei rock band. Kagerou formed in September of 1999 by vocalist Daisuke, and bassist MASAYA, soon to be joined by guitarist Yuana. After their time on record label Loop Ash, in 2000 Kagerou transferred to label Lizard inside of Free-Will. After having gained great popularity among the Japanese Visual Kei audience, they went abroad in 2005; playing in Germany and France.

At the live of September 16, 2006, at LIQUID ROOM ebisu, they stated their disbandment. Their comment on the 19th on their official site states it will take place on January of 2007, after a final tour in late October & November.

[edit] Style
Kagerou are a band in the Japanese Visual Kei style, which is characterised by its obscure and androgyne look. Although Kagerou currently uses less make-up and wear simplified stage outfits in comparison to most Visual Kei bands, they still call themselves a Visual Kei band.

[edit] Band Name
Kagerou (蜉蝣, prounounced 'Kagero') means "mayfly" in Japanese. Mayflies can be as old as three years. However, when mayflies reach their adulthood, their life span varies from two hours to three days. This short life span relates to Kagerou's vocalist Daisuke. Daisuke has suffered from heart related problems since infancy. Each day there is a chance his heart will give up. So like the adult mayfly his life span can be very short. "Live your every minute as if it were your last, not scared but filled with the most joyous moments," says Daisuke.

[edit] Members

[edit] Current
Daisuke(大佑) - Vocalist. He writes all the lyrics for Kagerou. His previous bands include Le'Cheri and Fatima, in which he was the drummer. Daisuke loves interaction with his audience such as his constant stagediving, and so do the fans.

Yuana(ユアナ) - Acoustic & Electric guitar. He often writes the band's songs. Examples of songs he has written are "Koukotsu Jigoku," "Shibire Kokoro," and "Seitekikinchou Implant." His past bands include Sweet Hallucination, and Alicia as Ewana.

kazu - Bass. His past bands were RESEARCH as KAZUNORI, and Aioria as Kazutake. He also writes a lot of songs for the band, such as "Holy Needle," "Kakokei Shinjitsu," and "Yami ni Warau Kuro".

Shizumi(静海)- Drums and percussion. He is normally seen playing a Pearl brand drum set. His past bands were Mitre Cure and MELUSINE. Shizumi has stated before him wanting to become a pianist if he had not become a drummer. He has composed songs as "Rasen Kubi," "Masatsu Shinkou," and "3.2.1." for the band. Shizumi is one of the "crowd pleasers," and has a lot of contact with the audience. He is known to have spoken English, German and French in recent overseas shows just for his fans.

[edit] Ex Members
MASAYA - Bassist. He left in 2000 and joined Kar'MariA. He then "retired" and has reportably left music.

KUYA - Bassist. He joined January 2001 and left during August of that same year to join GUICHE.

Hideto Matsumoto (ヒノアセ ミ翳ヒ Matsumoto Hideto, December 13, 1964ィCMay 2, 1998 in Yokosuka, Japan), or hide (pronounced [ˈhidɛ]), was a Visual Kei / J-Rock musician. After achieving stardom as a guitarist in the influential japanese group X Japan, hide also took part in the mainly American populated collaboration Zilch. hide enjoyed additional success as a solo artist, in which he provided his own vocals in addition to songwriting and playing guitar. He also organized and creatively managed the group hide with Spread Beaver.

Hide died on May 2, 1998. After a night of drinking, hide was found the next day strangled by a towel hanging from a doorknob. Although police declared his death to be suicide, friends and fans alike have openly disputed this claim. The hide museum in Yokosuka was posthumously constructed in hide。ッs honor. It opened on the second anniversary of his death on May 2, 2000. The museum featured many of his costumes, guitars, and personal possessions. The hide museum closed on September 25, 2005 due to the lack of funds.

[edit] Musical facts
In his late teens, hide led the controversial indie act Saver Tiger (not to be confused with Saber Tiger; in the Japanese phonetic language, the v and b are interchangeable. Saber Tiger is a different band that is still active in the Japanese HM scene). In addition to handling the guitar-playing, hide also served as songwriter. Selections of Saver Tiger。ッs recordings (credited as Yokosuka Saver Tiger, to avoid confusion with Saber Tiger) have recently seen official release. Hide has become known and loved all over the world.

Although popular in their native town of Yokosuka, Saver Tiger underwent several band member changes. Frustrated and convinced he would not succeed in the music business, hide began looking into a career as a hair stylist. He then received a call from Yoshiki, inviting him to join X. hide joined, spawning a decade as a songwriter and guitarist for the (soon to be) notable X (later renamed X Japan to eliminate confusion with the Los Angeles punk band of the same name), with bandmates Yoshiki, Toshi, Pata, and Heath (Taiji played bass until 1992). X Japan released multiple albums, including Blue Blood, Jealousy, and Dahlia, and numerous popular singles such as 。ーKurenai,。ア 。ーTears,。ア 。ーForever Love。ア and 。ーArt of Life.。ア

Shortly after the release of 。ーArt of Life,。ア the members of X Japan went on hiatus as a group and began solo projects. hide recorded his first album Hide Your Face in 1994. On the album he recorded all the guitars (including bass guitars) and vocals. He hired a band to play with him on his 。ーHide Our Psychommunity Tour.。ア Two years later, hide recorded his second album Psyence, which is widely considered his best album for its remarkable versatility. Thus began the 。ーPsyence A Go Go Tour。ア involving the same back-up band.

A collaboration with American band members developed into Zilch, for which hide wrote songs, played guitar, and provided vocals. Zilch released one album。ェ3.2.1.。ェand an album of remixes。ェBastardEYES。ェcontaining mixes by artists including Praga Khan, Charlie Clouser, Pitchshifter, and Chris Vrenna. Although the plans never truly materialized, hide had hoped to bring Zilch to the North American mainstream. Nevertheless, one of their songs did see official release in the occident, as part of the soundtrack for Heavy Metal 2000.

Around the same time, hide decided that the back up band he。ッd had with him since Hide Your Face should simply become his band. He called them Spread Beaver, making their full name 。ーhide with Spread Beaver,。ア for which hide composed, sang, and played 。ーsurf guitar.。ア They began recording Ja, Zoo, their first album. Midway through recording however, hide was found dead. The remainder of the album was recorded with pre-existing recordings and the help of hide。ッs brother, Hiroshi Matsumoto. After this began a heartfelt tour with the band playing live while videos of hide。ッs previous performances were projected onto a big screen. The tour sold out every night.

A wide array of hide tribute records have been released in the years after his passing. Shortly after his death, a hide tribute album called Spirits was released, which included Luna Sea。ッs version of 。ーScanner,。ア BUCK-TICK。ッs version of 。ーDoubt,。ア and Oblivion Dust。ッs cover of 。ーGenkai Haretsu.。ア In March of 2000, an 18-track best-of was released, called ~Psychommunity~. A plethora of other singles, compilations, and mix albums have continued to maintain hide。ッs presence in record stores across Japan and elsewhere in the world. 2004 saw the release of a 。ーnew。ア hide solo album, King of Psyborg Rock Star, a blend of remixes, live recordings, and hide-only versions of X Japan songs.

[edit] General facts
He was known by the nickname 。ーGibson。ア in primary school, because he was seldom not seen carrying around his first guitar (a Gibson), and would use it to play Kiss songs (later cited by hide as a major influence on his music).

hide was a certified beautician. He attended cosmetology and fashion school, Hollywood Beauty Salon in present-day Roppongi Hills, and was aspiring to become a hairstylist when Yoshiki asked him to join X Japan. hide became recognized in X Japan for his alternative fashion, reflecting on his knowledge and eye for visual aesthetics.

In 1988, hide (along with the rest of X Japan) appeared in the American film Tokyo Pop, starring Carrie Hamilton (Carol Burnett。ッs daughter). The group members resembled the band mates of Hiro, represented by the rock musician Diamond Yukai.

In 1993 hide starred in the 43 minute art film Seth et Holth(Produced by Fool's Mate magazine) with fellow j-rocker Tusk. The film was a blend between the biblical story of Adam and Eve, Egyptian Mythology, goth Visual Kei, and social commentary on the hectic nature of modern life.

hide。ッs Hide Your Face album features a distinctive mask designed by H. R. Giger across the cover (the mask was on display at the hide museum).

hide was also involved in various medical aid foundations, and was a marrow and blood donor. When a terminally ill girl wrote the Make a Wish Foundation that her last wish was to meet hide, he visited the young girl in the hospital. Not long after the visit, the girl began showing signs of improvement, and began recovering from her illness.

The hide museum in october 2003In the summer of 2000, the hide museum opened in Yokosuka. The museum displays a variety of hide。ッs personal items, as well as famous pieces such as his guitars, and clothing worn in concerts and music videos. The entire building is designed in the shape of one of hide。ッs guitars, and closed on September 25, 2005.

The title of one of hide。ッs songs, about an abusive, unhealthy relationship, 。ーGenkai Haretsu,。ア is actually a phrase that he himself coined. It literally means 。ーlimiting explosion.。ア

His song 。ーPink Spider。ア won the Japanese International Viewer。ッs Choice Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1998.

hide's Pink Spider will be rereleased on November 22, 2006.

[edit] Death
hide died on May 2, 1998. A roommate put hide down in bed after a night of drinking, but when she went to check on him an hour later, he was not in his room. hide was found hanged with a ripped towel in his apartment bathroom, the towel tied to the doorknob. He was barely alive when the ambulance arrived, and later died in the hospital. hide was 33 years old.

There is much debate as to the true nature of hide。ッs death. Some say it was an accidental death, explaining that he was drunk; hide left no suicide note. Others cite the suicide of INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence, who was reputed to have died from hanging in an attempt to gratify himself through autoerotic asphyxiation. hide was known for performing stunts in attempts to scare others, and some suspect his death to be a stunt gone wrong. Taiji, who played in X Japan with hide for several years, offered a possible explanation for hide。ッs death in his book X no Sei to Shi: Uchuu wo Kaeru Tomo e. He explained that after performing shows, the band members would often tie towels around their shoulders and necks to relieve muscle stress. Taiji implies that hide had most likely tied a towel on in such a manner (and one can subsequently assume that he had fallen against the door and was ultimately unable to free himself). Although many fans support Taiji。ッs suggestion, others have preferred to see hide。ッs death as a purposeful incident, not wanting to see hide。ッs death as an accident. These fans have speculated that his song 。ーPink Spider。ア was a musical suicide note (the song was hide。ッs final single and music video released before his passing. It features a woman jumping off a building to her death).

hide。ッs funeral was held at the Buddhist temple, Tsukiji Hongan-ji, in Tsukiji, Tokyo on May 7, 1998. Over 70,000 people attended. Streets were closed off, and police had to deploy boats, helicopters, 100 officers, and 170 security guards to the temple to control the emotional crowd. By the end of day, 26 people had been hospitalized for various injuries. There is still a small memorial and guest book at the temple。ェyou can find it on the far left on entering the main hall.

hide。ッs death and funeral was announced by CNN and other TV channels around the world, despite only being a household name within Japan.

The remaining members of X Japan performed 。ーForever Love。ア at the funeral, and the band leader Yoshiki gave a speech. He was crying and shaking so hard that he was struggling to hold onto the paper he had written the speech on. Below is an excerpt:

。ーI'm very shocked to hear about his death. I still can't believe what has happened. Right now, he's sleeping with a beautiful face. I tried to wake him up many times, but he's still sleeping.
Between the five of us, hide was the one who kept his calm and thought out things. Even though I was the leader, he was the calm one who gave me good advice when I was being short tempered and emotional. Of course with all that pressure, he too almost lost his identity. But during those hard times, he'd always give me a call. We would talk about X, music, friends, life, fans, almost anything. He was like a big brother to me and sometimes like a young brother too. We'd drink together and sometimes fight. But the next day, he'd come to me and say, "Yoshiki, have I done something last night? I'm sorry, I don't remember a thing." But this time, he didn't say anything back to me... sleeping.
To all fans and friends, you must all be confused. I also cannot express this sadness in words, but we must understand and accept this painful reality. Everyone please watch over his eternal sleep warmly。ア
hide was known to be upbeat, a joker and party-loving, adding to the confusions as to why such a person would choose to escape his problems through suicide. He had gone on record however, that he frequently scared himself when drunk, and frequently regreted what he would do while drunk.

   Gazette!!!!

Gazette

Gazette or the GazettE (ガゼット, Gazette?), is an indie Japanese rock band of the visual kei variety. The band was formed in early 2002 and is currently signed to PS Company, a notable production company that has also served the likes of 雅-miyavi-, alice nine., and Kagrra,. To many non-fans, they're compared to Dir en grey, but in actuality the bands have few similarities. This comparaison held true for some of the band's older songs such as 'maximum impulse' in which they mix dark and heavy verses with joyful and upbeat choruses like on a lot of Dir en grey's songs. However during an interview in the magazine FOOL's MATE, most members have cited Luna Sea to be their favorite and most respected band.

BIOGRAPHY!__________
Gazette was founded on March 10th, 2002 by Uruha, Reita (both formerly of Karasu, Ma'die Kuss, L'ie:Chris, and Kar+te=zyAnose), Ruki (formerly of Mikoto, Ma'die Kuss, L'ie:Chris, and Kar+te=zyAnose), Aoi (former Mervilles and Artia guitarist), and ex-drummer Yune (formerly of La'DeathtopiA, Mervilles, Artia, and Vall'na racill), and current drummer, Kai.

In April 2002 they released their first single "Wakaremichi", and two videotapes, released again two months later in a second press. During August and September they released two singles and a VHS. At this time Matina was their record label. They gave their first one-man in the October 2002. In early 2003, Yune decided to leave the band. Kai, the ex-drummer of MareydiCreia replaced him. In March 2003 they joined the PS Company label.

In May they released their first mini-album, Cockayne Soup, as well as starting their first tour, together with Hanamuke. Apart from their tour collaboration, the band also made two songs with Hanamuke. They managed the second tour together with Vidoll. The music magazine Cure published an edition with Vidoll and Gazette together on the cover picture.

In early December they played a Two-Man-Show beside deadman. December 28 they performed on the Beauti-fool's Fest '03. The event, organized by the music magazine Fool's Mate, included Kra, lab., Gullet, Pink Halleluja, Gazette, deadman, Miyavi, D駸pairsRay, Daigo Stardust, Merry and MUCC in their line-up. On January 16, 2004 they produced their first One-Man-Show, recorded and afterwards released as the "Tokyo saihan ~JUDGMENT DAY~ 2004.1.16 SHIBUYA-AX LIVE DVD". The day of the DVD release (28.04.2004) created a foundation for the official Gazette fanclub. March 30, 2004 they released the MADARA mini-album, reaching to #2 on the Oricon Indie Charts. On August 25 they released the "Heisei Banka" concert DVD, previously recorded on the April 23.

In May they released their first PV-DVD "MADARA", which contained the 6 PVs including the "Making ofs....." of the "MADARA" mini-album. During September and October they set another tour together with fellow PS Company bands Kra and bis (bis later left PS Company in 2005 and joined FREE-WILL).

On October 13, 2004 they released their first full-length album "Disorder" , listed in the top 5 of the Oricon Daily Charts.

In early August of 2005, Gazette released the "Gama" mini-album. The maxi-single "Cassis" was released later in the year.

Their second full album, "Nil", released on February 8, 2006, included a special first-press edition and a regular-press edition. Gazette's latest standing tour, 「Nameless Liberty.Six Guns」, started in February of 2006.

Gazette performed their first 2 live concerts out of Asia between July 28-30, 2006. Performing to around 800 people, the concerts were arranged in conjunction with German Anime & Manga Convention, AnimagiC, and took place at the Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Germany.

   Hiroto

Hiroto

Part: Guitarist
Real name: Ogata, Hiroto.
Dob: May 4th
Blood type: O
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 108 lbs.
Hobbies: Going to famous places in Japan, Photography
Perfume: None
Favorite Brand: effect clothes, adidas
Favorite Music: Hot Post-Rock genres (He's mentioned Audioslave before..)
Phrase: Do it~
Strength/Weakness: Not breathing in lies. Getting hot.
Cannot do without: Faith, convictions, and guitar.
My latest boom: Skateboarding and collecting shoes.
Ambition: It goes without saying... you will understand when you see it. (hm...)
Past Bands: BAQUEPIA

The first time Miyabi saw alice nine's picture, Hiroto immediately grabbed Miyabi's attention cause he's so damn adorable. He's really fun to watch in video clips because he's always fooling around and really energetic. For some reason he likes to flip people off. :) In random pictures of the band, Hiroto is always making faces, posing, and generally having a good time in front of the camera.
Being the youngest member of a new indie band, Hiroto is a nice fresh face among Jrock. He writes many of alice nine's catchiest songs; definitely a creative mind! Hiroto's guitar playing is light and rhythmic and always a pleasure to listen to.

Jrock is Love!!!
