   Super Typhoon: The Aftermath

It’s been a long time since we were hit by this typhoon, and we are still recovering…

Since this is going to be a long post if I don’t do anything about it, I decided to do something. It’s like a summary approach, so here goes…

[] the typhoon was a windy one. It was so strong that looking out the window will be a scene of white mist. Various comments considered Super Typhoon Reming was the strongest that hit the region.
[] everything is a mess the next day. We got buildings destroyed, steel bent like plastic, roof crushed like it was aluminum and trees blown down. One school got to be closed for almost two weeks, or more…
[] we were lucky to be strategically located between 2 floor houses – it shielded us from the strong winds, so we were fine.
[] others were not lucky – the province of Albay got entire communities obliterated.
[] we got another typhoon (ack! when will it end…) and it’s a wet one, not as windy as the last.
[] more than a week without electricity… ah, the excruciating boredom…

Well, that’s it for now…

   The Storm!

As I type this I am not sure how long will this power hold up. The latest weather bulletin was just posted and our province was given the storm signal #3… while another part of the province in our region got the highest signal, storm signal #4!

Ok, you guys may think, whoa! And he’s here posting an update.

Calm down… so far things are fine here. The winds are not strong… yet. Just a few short gusts wind occasional downpour. The super typhoon is expected to hit landfall by morning, and head to Metro Manila the next day… (talk about being the weather man!)

This storm is expected to be stronger than past typhoons that have just recently hit the country. What’s scarier is that

Actually, I’m surfing the net to check out the weather update in typhoon200.com and decided to post.

Well, be posting when things get better… power will be down any moment the wind picks up.

God speed to all.

Jomz out.

This just in, our storm signal just got raised to #4! And it’s still as quiet as an ordinary day… Really creeps me out.

Another trivia… this is the 3rd super typhoon in a row hitting the country…

Jomz out again.

   A Storm is Coming

And it might be a strong one…

If it strikes us, it means no power, strong winds, rain, no school or work, and we’ll be stuck in the house with only candles… That’s not fun, isn’t it. No school or work may be good for some people, but it’s like they can actually enjoy a relaxing vacation with the winds howling and no electricity, huh?

Well, anyway, I uploaded a new wallpaper. Check it out in my portfolio. It’s Naruto! Yeah!

Well, that’s that. I’ll post soon… I hope…

Wish this storm will just disappear… or miss us…

   Did you know...

that you can't touch the tip of your elbow with your mouth...

And you had to try it out, didn't you?

Anyway, crazy thoughts aside, my website update is coming down smoothly. Some minor tweaks and I'm done. I have rearranged my gallery and it is going to be cool... Can't wait to get it uploaded.

Probably finish it this week.

Well, that's that...

   You know what...

MyO is boring when your friends are not posting new blog entries...

But I guess it can't be helped... I know they are busy doing... uh, stuff...

Another thing that makes MyO fun is when people post comments. Yup... it kind'a gives a guy a feeling that someone actually visited and read your posts. (The page visit counter is not enough, you know.)

Well, that's that...

   Whew...

ah, Manny Pacquiao won... a breath of relief for many Filipinos...

Think about it, beating Erik Morales in the third round by a TKO!

I'm just glad that this didn't turn out to be a disappointment to us.

I'm not into boxing much... I only got hooked because of Knock Out! (Hajime no Ippo) But the anime is different from the real thing.

Anyway, congratulations to all Pacman fans.

   ...

Been job hunting and it is really depressing and frustrating to see your list of companies to apply to get smaller and smaller as you cross them out one by one...

So far nothing yet... *sigh*

Oh, and to reply on a comment from Takeshi Takumi:
Not yet. I am still in Naga City and have no current plans to go to Manila... personal reasons. Anyway, those companies are still in my option provided that I get nothing from my hometown.
Anyway, thank you.

Well, that's that.

   Missed by A day!

Well, not exactly regular days, but working days. I went to inquire about a job vacancy in a local company and that's what I got. They told me that the interview was held last Friday. Darn it.

The only chance that I'll get in there if any of those previously accepted will back out. Yeah right, like that'll ever happen. Unless of course those people were just browsing for greener pastures.

Anyway, I'm off to the next on my list...

Well, that's that.

   A Random Thought

I've been here in MyO for a while, and while Mask has finished his 3 Freakin' Years, I have been thinking back on my history here as well.

It wasn't a very colorful one for me. I saw the announcement in TheOtaku which I have been visiting for a while. One thing caught my attention - get your names reserved...

Yup, I joined first just to be able to use my nickname, and not be beaten to it. I also joined to be able to submit fan arts in the future when I am able to buy my own scanner... which up to now I still don't have... hehehe...

I really wasn't into blogging. I first used the blog feature of the site to post quizes that I took. Previous visitors of my site would remember that my old posts were mostly quizes from TheO guru.

Then something happened... The Quiz Manager was born, as well as the reorganization of the Guru. I lost my quiz results, plus I used the Quiz Manager. I noticed something, too. You don't get a credit for updating just by posting a quiz in the quiz manager. So goes my long "hibernation" in this site.

I remember at first I was so bored with this site. Since I couldn't submit any fan art, I saw no use for it except as a way to post quizes.

Then another thing happened...I went around the member list and something really strange caught my eye. A user name that tickled my curiosity. The name- lechon de leche. It's a kind of food, if you don't know. Anyway, I visited the site and found out that the user was Filipino... yup, pinoy just like me. So I posted my very first
Guestbook entry to other users. I got a reply via my guestbook with some tips such as enabling comments on the posts and also a list of other pinoy users which I also visited. One of them is my best Otaku buddy, the Mask!

During those times, I really was not interested in blogging... It looks like an online diary/journal to me. I don't write those stuff, probably because I'm too lazy writing long stuff with my barely legible handwriting, hehehehe...

The main thing that got me interested in posting are the comments. It lets me know that there are people out there who actually read my work. It's fun to see that there are comments written on your posts, right? This I have to thank Mask for always dropping by and never failing to post a comment, be it related or not, or something.

He got me interested more in doing this stuff.

Hmm... a long post... Anyway, that's my own trip down MyO memory lane.

Well, that's that.

   Happy Halloween!

Though I am feeling that I'm in the mood to do some pranks and summon some creatures from another plane, I didn't do anything...

sounds lame, huh? But Halloween isn't an integral part of the Filipino culture, so people don't go along with it much.

Ok, next is my segment...

Exam Day 1

I had a lousy sleep. Practically felt like I didn't sleep at all. The bed and the environment, plus add the tension, excitement and nervousness of the exam, didn't gave me a good rest.

It started off with us filling up a form. It scared the heck out of me. I was so nervous that even shading the letters of my own name made my pencil shake...

The worst part of the exam is waiting. You just don't know what they'll be throwing at you. It makes you want to get it over with fast!

Anyway, the day ended with most of us smiling. Why? Well, it's because it felt like we were just in our review school taking a quiz or something. It's like the Board exam was only felt during the form signing thing...

At the end of the day, I really wasn't sure about how it ended up. I think I got some, though I was not sure if I got enough to pass...

And so I just tossed that thought into a side of my brain and braced myself for the day to come...
