Firetruck.
I've said before that I've wanted Ziggy Stardust for, like, ages. My dad wouldn't let me get it, though, because he thought David Bowie was gay. Did I care? Psh, no. There's no difference between a gay person and a liar, anyway (but hey, that's only the Bible talking). Still, he said that would be "supporting his lifestyle".

Excuse me, but what?

Whether I give him $10 or not ($7 of which will go to the record company anyway, of course) he will still do the exact same thing, and my money will have made no difference.

Of course, I recently was informed by a trustworthy source that he's actually straight (keep in mind, for a minute, that this was his single argument against me getting that CD). I made sure that this information got to Dad post-haste.

Yeah, he just made up a new reason. No fucking surprise there. This time it was that back in his day, Bowie was "the radical of the radicals", and that he lived an immoral lifestyle. When I asked him if he could give me one single example of something immmoral that he did (you're sure as hell not going to find it anywhere in his music), he said "No." with all the mindblowing smugness and security that only someone that conservative could possible muster.

2 years yet 'til college, 2 years...
