Let me sleep some more.

I found another freaking awesome band recently. Name's "Armor For Sleep". Great alternative/indie rock. You can find them on Purevolume.

Also, check out Silverfox, also at Purevolume. He's an awesome dj, and I've recently started to get into some of the slower, heavier electronic music. If nothing else, listen to Electric Sad and 9000.

And finally, check out Daphnelovesderby at you-know-where. Cool emo group.

As you can see, I'm liking this whole Purevolume thingaroo. It's a great site to find out about awesome artists that you otherwise wouldn't, and to get some music from mainstream bands, too. As before, your face will be ripped off and fed to Shin if you don't listen to the artists I just listed.

EDIT: This. Is. Hilarious.

My 1AC can beat up your 1AC.

I'm at the university right now, and I was just sitting in the lounge-type room by the cafeteria watching MTV a few seconds ago, completely helpless and stranded without the aid of the remote control.

Naturally, I didn't stay long. But I did stay long enough to see the first part of TRL (no idea what that stands for, so don't ask), where the band Simple Plan rode up on the sidecars of motorcycles - which, for the uninformed, is a very new and thus cool and nonconformist and "punk" way to make your entrance - and play a song in front of a large crowd consisting of only - only preppy college girls.

I didn't stay past the first chorus, if only because I was so disgusted with the song. Yes, that may sound almost cliche what with all the OBers and myOers making posts about how lame punk music is nowadays (though it never gets old when told by a Marxist Pythonian), but I actually like some of the pop-punk music out there. Since I don't exactly make any endeavors for more music by them, I've only heard one song from both Yellowcard and Lostprophets ("Ocean Avenue" and "Last Train Home", respectively), but I like them. I may not like the bands themselves, they may be posers and conformists, but I like those songs at least.

But I was (and pretty much always have been) all-out disgusted by Simple Plan. Maybe it's just me, you know, but it seems like even they themselves, inside about a year or two, have pulled even further away from the punk genre than they had even started at. So far, in fact, that as I listened to their new song I couldn't help but wonder, "If this song had been released by Kelly Clarkson instead of Simple Plan, would it have sounded out of place?" And you know what?

It wouldn't have. Simple Plan has, singlehandedly, become an all-out pop band that actually claims to be punk. Not even pop-punk. They are 2004's N'sync.

With all the digressions that have occured in punk music, I've wondered what will happen next. We know where punk was, and where it is. From that, shouldn't we at least have a hint at where they will be in, say, three years? No more need to wonder. We now know.

Boy bands with musical instruments.

So here's the deal...

Here's an image that I want to use for my next layout. (yes, I'm wanting to make a new layout already. I'm insane.) Tell me if you like it, because I've got a few other ideas, too.

And don't worry, I'll post some actual content tomorrow.

*snicker*

*bursts out laughing*

Like hell I will. Losers.

Brackets cannot contain me!

It's 12:35 PM, and I've already found out three interesting facts today.

1) Yesterday wasn't Halloween. Halloween is today. Sorry for all the confusion, since I know my words directly affect your realities. You can screw kids out of their candy tonight, though.

2) Daylight savings time has ended. That means you must set your clock back twelve miles and perform a blessing rain chant to Saturn.

3) I was at the airport once with Story of the Year. No joke. When we were taking my aunt and brother to the airport to fly to their respective homes, we saw four guys, whom my dad only described as "probably lost". Well, my sister recognized a tattoo on one of them that said "one chance". She looked for a band called One Chance online (she thought they looked like they were in a band), but somehow ended up looking at Story of the Year pics, where she noticed the same tattoo on one of the (strangely familiar-looking) band members. So we put two and two together and, well, I guess we were at the airport with Story of the Year.

Whoa! Ummm, BOO!

The meaning of that subject is twofold. The first part is that I forgot it was Halloween. I hope no little kids have come to our door, since I'm the only one home and I've been asleep for several hours. If they do come later tonight, I'll have to figure out how much candy to give them, since it's been so long that I've forgotten what the customary amount is. You don't want to give them too much, you know, or else they'll think it's so cool how much you gave them and tell all their little friends to come to your house. Nobody wants that. But you can't give them too little, either, because hey, it's Halloween. You remember when you trick-or-treated (or if you still do) and you remember that one stinge who'd always give you, like, one Jolly Rancher. Everybody hates that guy, and nobody wants that, either.

Second part of the subject: That's about the scare factor of Freddy vs. Jason. Really. I was at a friend's house last night and we rented that for lack of any scarier new releases. We laughed our asses off. Not much more to say about that.

So if you are a loser like me who's spending his/her night on myOtaku and are consequently reading this, keep those eggs and fire extinguishers handy by the front door. You don't need any little buggers interrupting your geekdom.

H is orange kicks ass all over the place.

Isn't it great when you discover new bands and find out how awesome they are?

I just found out about a band called "h is orange", and, as I said, they kick ass. I mean, you know how when you hear a really, really, good song or part of a song you literally get shivers down your spine? (or is that just me?) Well, I was havin' shivers all over the place, I'll tell ya.

H is orange is a rock band with great vocals (ok, so some backup wouldn't hurt at times) and - yes, in a modern band - awesome lyrics. They're one of the best bands in the world and you need to check out some of their (quick-loading, in browser) music here, or I'll rip your face off and feed it to Shin.

And while you're there, also check out Appogee, a DJ whom I think is actually in the band but am not sure. He's got some pretty good beats, too. Try the PPC Remix.
