He'd like to come and meet us, but he thinks he'd blow our minds.
I'm listening to Starman by Bowie again for the first time in a while. I do think I shall keep doing this for a while longer.

On Friday night I went to a concert (with a particularly crappy screamo band) (not that there are any screamo bands that aren't crappy) to see a Christian poet named Bradley Hathaway. I had seen him for the first time at a Blindside show last fall, and when he came to Kansas again, I went to check it out.

He's not an ordinary poet by any standards, and you don't really feel the full effect of his poetry unless you see or hear him perform it. Checks it out.

In other news, I picked up Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy at the library last week, and I'm proud to say it's the first 200 page book I've read in a day. The next day, I followed it up by checking out the second book, The Restaraunt at the End of the Universe, and now I'm on the third book.

I was surprised to find out that the series really isn't incredibly funny, and that what humor is there is surprisingly dark and subtle for a farce novel. I think the strength of the book lies in all the crazy theories and such. Only a very unique mind could possibly invent an entire mathematic practice revolving around restaraunt dining, lol. XD

Error 27
Apparently, I can't add myself as a friend. What's up with that? Am I supposed to not be my friend or something? Am I supposed to be my enemy?

Somebody seriously screwed up when they were writing the error messages, because how the hell am I going to know when I update? I'm a very important person to me, and I can't even let me know that by being my own friend.

This world is fucked up.

Disregard the last post.
James tells all. (Or at least as much as I needed to know.)

Last night I became the happiest man on the face of the earth. That night, Dad tossed a thin manilla package up the stairs to me. Quite naturally, it had to be my Rob Dougan CD. But it didn't feel like it. It felt like a book of some sort, very large (about 8.5" x 11", maybe) and very thin. I hadn't ordered anything else, and the only package that I could possibly receive would be the CD, but it just didn't seem plausible that something so oddly shaped could be just a CD.

And damn, was I right about that. It turned out to actually be the best CD in the history of the human race.

Holy shit, is that thing awesome. The odd-shaped package was a huge book/booklet of about 30 pages of lyrics and, mostly, pictures. I had seen almost all of these pictures before, on Rob's website, but it simply didn't compare to seeing huge, blown-up versions of them. It also has an actual book jacket, too. I swear, it is so freaking awesome.

Oh yeah, and it's a 2 CD set, too. The second disk has 10 instrumental versions of songs on the other CD, and the videos for Furious Angels and Clubbed to Death.

So now I can finally get my hands on the song I originally wanted to upload, and do so via a new website. (Thanks, Bar.)

Tell me if it works. (Please?)

Beverly Hills
Dad got a new printer and (flatscreen!) monitor for his work computer. Absofreakinglutely awesome.

In other news, I'll start posting longer posts as soon as I can get the home computer fixed. I feel so damn rushed up here that I can't post hardly anything more than a few meager sentences at a time.

Oh! And one more thing: today in English class my teacher finally got the projector to display from the computer, so he actually showed the class How to Kill A Mockingbird, which I had been bugging him to do. (We had been reading To Kill A Mockingbird.) (Which, by the way, sucked.)

Under the spreading chestnut tree, I sold you and you sold me.
I've been at home cleaning for the past several days now so we can show the house to potential buyers. Although it's kept me away from the computer, it actually feels much nicer living in a straight, organized house. To tell you the truth, feng shui is starting to sound less and less like bullshit every day. ^_^

I also finished rereading 1984 a few days ago. I love it so much more now than I did the first time I read it. I need a new book now, though. Hrm.

Huzzah!
I'm ordering my Rob Dougan CD tonight. 8D

And on that note, is the music here not working for anyone else? I can't seem to play it on this computer. *grumbles* I wanted to put "Will You Follow Me?" up instead anyway, but I couldn't. You really should give it a listen, in any case.
