   TRIBUTE TO MEILIN
Here is a tribute to the forgotten CLAMP character Meilin of Cardcaptor Sakura.

Meilin's background:
- Ever since she was born in Hong Kong, Li Meilin was to marry Li Syaoran, her distant cousin. Although the marriage was not by choice, she and her fiancee grew accustomed to the idea. In fact, Meilin loved it. Both trained together for years in martial arts, but she struggled to keep up with Syaoran's growth. Still she pressed on because she knew that one day the spirits of the mystical Clow cards would to reawaken to ravage the world, and she would have to protect the one whom she loved most.
- When the time came that the cards should awaken, Syaoran was sent to Japan ahead of her. A bit of time passed since his departure before she, too, came to join the fight, but when she arrived, she found a rival. At the time Sakura and Syaoran were comrades but hardly friends, yet Meilin foresaw that her beloved might be taken from her. She began to grow jealous and competitive, but somehow she became more of a close friend to her rival rather than an enemy. Time and time again she would risk her life for both of her beloved friends. Soon though it became clear to her and Sakura's other friend Tomoyo (Remember Princess Tomoyo from Tsubasa Chronicle) that Sakura and Syaoran were growing closer and closer; Meilin still continued to fight, but in the scenes where she is alone, it is clearly expressed that she was in pain.
- One day, she received a call to return to Hong Kong. But she did not depart without settling unfinished business. During a sleepover at Sakura's both exchanged sentimental apologies as Meilin made clear to Sakura that since she would have to leave, Syaoran would need her by his side even though the prospect seemed to tear her heart apart. That night she fought alongside Syaoran once more. It happened then that she and Syaoran defeated some enemies without the help of Sakura. Before her flight home, she tells Syaoran that she didn't want to marry someone who didn't love her, unintentionally making Syaoran feel bad. As she departs, she waves goodbye to the friends she would leave behind, hiding behind the smile on her face as her ex-fiancee is left with a troubled heart.

I hope that background was accurate enough. I really tried.

My sister and I are still waiting for this girl to appear is Tsubasa Chronicle. Personally, I think that one of the most popular and important of all CLAMP characters should not have been left out in CLAMP's ultimate manga. Anyway, sis and I still think she's one of the prettiest CLAMP characters around.
