What Japanese Dragons look like
Eastern Dragons have a body of snake, Scales of a fish, tail of a fish, Antlers of a deer, face of a Kirin, (mythical animal of japan), two pairs of eaglefs talons, eyes of great and powerful demon that can see for miles.

How to tell Japanese dragons from Korean and Chinese
How to tell Japanese dragons from Korean, Indonesian and Chinese is that Chinese Indonesian have 5 toes, Korean have 4 toes, but the Japanese dragons have 3 toes. And there are myths that if a Chinese dragon travels to Korea it will have a loss of one toes and when it goes to Japan it will have a loss of 2 toes if it was going from the Chinese area. And it is said that if a Japanese dragon travels to Korea it will grow a 4 toe. And so onc The Japanese believe that all dragons of eastern culture came from Japan but ht e Chinese thing they are from China and the Korean believe all eastern dragon are from Korea.

Life stages of Japanese dragons

-(500-1,000) In this stage that dragon becomes like a fish because they have scales.
-(1,000-1,500) In this stage the dragon grows at rapidly and becomes a strong and power dragon. These dragons are seen as symbols of the wise man and beauty, and truth.
-(1,500-2,000) In this stage the dragon has a loss of scales and the dragon grows horns. The dragon also grows wing because they canft fly with out them in this stage. And this is the last of changing of the dragonfs life and the life of the dragon is nearly done.

Types of dragons

-Tatsu-which are Japanese dragons. They are a symbol of the Mikado. They are also looked upon as imperial and spiritual power, and they tend to live in lakes and springs. Tatsu is written like this in Japanese (Image hosted by Photobucket.com)
-Sui-Ryu- is the Japanese Dragon King. The Dragon King was in charge of all the rain, and he was sometimes known as "the rain dragon."
-Han-Ryu is a multi-striped Japanese Dragon. Though the dragon is around (or over) forty feet long, this dragon can never reach heaven.
-Ri-Ryu, this dragon has exceptional eye sight.
-Ka-Ryu was one of the smaller dragons, being that the dragon was only seven feet long. It is said, however, that the Ka-Ryu was fiery red.
-Fuku Ryu is a dragon of luck.
-Hai-ryo is a Japanese "Dragon-Bird". Said to be much like the Chinese Ying-Lung, this was the most "evolved" form of a dragon.

Colors of Dragons and what they symbolize

The colors of dragons are: white, red, black, blue, and yellow and they all symbolize different things about the dragonfs parents and symbols of Japanese culture.

Named Dragons found in Japanese Myths

-Blue Dragon-symbol of leader and protector of the year of the dragon.
-Ryo-Wo-King dragon god of the sea
-Kiyo-a vengeful people that became a dragon and it is horned and breathed fire.
-Seiryu-The seiryu is the god of the east and is know to make great stormsc
-Ryu-symbol of strom because he made stroms and he is the symbol of dragon power
-Uwibami-the sign of warning to look both ways went on the road.
-Yofune-Nushi-This dragon lived near the island of Oka and killed a beautiful maiden every June 13 and he was very evil a lot like western dragon are.
-Yamata-no-orochi-the dragon of 8 heads, Yamata made a deal with a family but the deal did not work so he ate them and he ate the sake and when he was drunk a man killed him and cut off his 8 heads and tails and the Murakumi no Tsurugi sword was found with in a tail. The great dragon had a fir and cypress growing on him. And like he is a lot like Western dragons is his evil ways.
-Benton-the symbol of good and evil for her tow form were kind and not as kind.
-Toyo-Tama-the symbol of great giving love.
