   Just Checking In
Alright, so I have to apologize for not posting for a while. I really have no acceptable excuse. (I realize that it's not like anyone's days are ruined by the fact that I don't post ;P, but still, I feel kinda bad.) I've been out of the house a lot with friends and stuff lately, plus I've been working (Oh gosh- and I've been spending so much money shopping. I need/want to save my money but there is sooooo much stuff I want! Why can't all consumer goods be ugly and useless? That would make it so much easier to save money! >_<). Sometimes I really have the urge to draw my next Inuyasha chibi character (Sango), as well as a pic of Rei (Evangelion) I have in mind. And that's not to mention the 3 unfinished pictures I have stacked up in a folder somewhere. But hey, the summer is a time for having fun, and that's what I've been doing. I just can't fit everything in. :) But more times than not, going out costs money. And pretty soon I am not going to let myself spend any more of it. So there! (That no-spending phase is not going to last too long, I'll tell you that right now. But every little bit helps. ;)) And when that happens, I'll draw. Now there's an entertaining no/low-cost activity!

Man, it's early. ...Ok, here's the deal: I don't really have anything new to say; I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be out of town (not far from it, but still :P) the next 2 days. In this case, that means that I won't be drawing or updating during that time either. :( Ok, just wanted to let you know.

   Weekend Report

Hey! Are you guys having a nice weekend? I hope so. I've been working. I also went to go see King Arthur last night. It was a good movie (action-packed, for sure), but I was so tired- I kept yawning and almost falling asleep. I went right after work to see the 11:30pm showing and I didn't get home until 2:00. And then I tried to stay up to watch Inuyasha at 3:00, but I couldn't make it. =( I barely lasted through Futurama. u_u

So, you may or may not have noticed that I submitted my Chibi Miroku pic. I'm happy with it, but for some reason it's just not nearly as cute as my other 2 chibis. Maybe it's because the actual anime Miroku isn't as cute as the actual Inuyasha or Sesshomaru. :-> Next I'll draw Sango. Like Miroku, this will be my first time drawing her, so wish me luck! ^_~

I have to work again today, so I might have to wait until Monday to draw again.

   Thanks!

[I don't know what relavance that^ pic has to todays post. I just thought it was funny. =P ]

Soo... I've gotten a lot of visits to my site this week, and a lot of votes on my pics (I'm back up to 80% overall- yay!), and a few new GB entries. Thanks a lot everybody! ;) Oh, and if you signed my guestbook and I didn't sign yours yet, I promise I will do that soon! I really appriciate you taking the time to visit my profile and sign, so I will return the favor. I've just been kinda busy/ preoccupied.

I like how my last 2 chibi pics turned out so much that I've decided to do an Inuyasha chibi series. =) I'm working on Miroku right now. The drawing is done and I want to start coloring, but unfortuatley I've got stuff to do today. When I get back home I'll work on it if I'm not too tired. Eventually I want to draw chibi Sango, Kagome, Kikyo, Kouga, and Ayame (in that order). Am I leaving anyone out (but not from too far along in the series- who I haven't even "met" yet)? But I might need to take some breaks from drawing chibis, so don't expect the series to be done all that soon. >_> ... ^_^

Oh- I got the CD I ordered of my favorite J-pop artist, Utada Hikaru yesterday. I had heard most of the songs on it before, but there's this one song... omg, it would be a perfect theme song for Miroku. lol. I wish you guys could hear it. I don't know the name of it cuz it's written in Japanese Kanji, and I don't understand most of the song (I don't know Japanese), but some lyrics are sung in English and they match Miroku perfectly. ^_^ It's so funny! And the song itself is actually really cool. =)

Ok, I guess I wrote enough for today =p. Thanks for reading!

   Cruel Intentions

Dang it- I'm back down to a 79% overall rating for my fanart, which means I'm off the top 10...and do you know why? All because of 1 person who voted that they didn't like my "Chibi Sesshy", which brought it's rating from 100% (with 45 votes) down to 98%. :( How mean! I wouldn't be able to break such a strong 100% on someone's art- even if I didn't like it. I just wouldn't vote.

But, that's all right. No hard feelings. ;) It was inevitable anyway.

Well, my true intention of logging on was to submit a new picture. It's a Chibi Inuyasha to match his brother. It's real cute, I think. But the reason why I'm especially proud of it is that I didn't have a reference for it. I did it all on my own (well, I had Chibi Sesshy for an example, but that's different than a reference, and it didn't really help anyway :)). This means I can draw Chibis of anyone now. ^^ Well, I dunno about drawing legs and arms actually >_<. Well, whatever. ;P

Ok, I'm going to go look at some of the new fanart now. ^_^/

   Yay!
Wow, I'm back on the top 10! (#10) I've been at 79% for the longest time and my latest Sesshy pic has pushed me over the edge. Currently it's got 41 votes and it's still at 100%- unbelievable. You gotta love those Sesshoumaru fans. ^_^ Hmm, I wonder who will be the heartless person who breaks my chain of "yes" voters. >:/ ... \;P

I just wanted to check in now to document this before I slip off the list. ;) Thanks to everyone who voted for my art!

   what's new

Yay, my good scanner works again! I didn't do anything to it, I just tried it and today it finally worked. :)

So, I submitted a fan art- it's another Sesshoumaru, but it's chibi. It's pretty cute I think, but not as cute as the original. I found this pic, from a doujinshi, online a long time ago. I have a print-out of it on my bedroom wall because it's soooo cute!

Well, you know how I wrote I was working on 3 pics? Well, that Sesshoumaru was my 4th, so I still have those same 3. I think I feel like working some more on the Naruto one now though, so maybe that's what you'll see finished next.

Ok, that's all for now. Until next time! ^_^/

   Hey
So the reason I haven't submitted a pic in a few days is cuz I've gotten into the bad habit of not finishing one piece before starting another. So right now I have 3 pics, all in different stages of the sketching/inking/coloring process. Hopefully I can get myself to finish these up!

I see that I currently have 299 visitors to my site. Hmmm, who will be lucky 300? If you, #300, sign my GB, I'll give you a fabulous prize! Ok, I guess I'm not fooling anyone. But you're still welcomed to sign. =P

Well, if I don't update again in time, I'd like to wish everyone a happy Fouth of July! And be safe! ;)

   Pictures submitted
So, I finally submitted the pics I kept saying I was going to submit (sorry for the delay). I was in no hurry to enter them because I knew they wouldn't scan very well. I've been using my new scanner/printer/fax/copier for these last few pics 'cuz my other regular scanner isn't working. I like my new all-in-one, but I guess it's not really made for detailed scans, seeing as how it won't pick up subtle shading or very light colors. I don't even know why my old scanner won't work, but I do know that this is fustrating! >:(

Didn't work on my Naruto drawing at all today, or any other drawing for that matter. I just didn't feel like it. `_`

But I did go to the library today and I checked out some art technique books. Most are to teach about using types of pencil. I'm a 100% self-taught "artist" (I wouldn't really call myself an artist >_<) and I think that limits what I can do. I'm not bad at copying pictures (I use a reference for just about all my drawings), but when it comes to creating my own art from scratch, my skills are pretty basic. So hopefully I can experiment with some new techniques and learn something from these books.

Another thing I'd really like to learn how to do is to color my art (or create art) using computer programs like Photoshop. I have tried experimenting with programs before, but it took so long to do the most basic (and amaturish) shading. I know there are tons of techniques and stuff that I don't know how to use. I have seen some absolutely amazing CG fan (and other) art, which makes me feel like I'm really missing out on a great new art form. I will definitely have to take a class for that someday.

So, how did you guys get your art skills?

Well, I'm going to try to go to bed earlier today. My sleeping schedule has gotten seriously skewed over the last couple days. But I actually have things to do in the daytime later this week :P, so I need to get back on track.

Geez, didn't mean to write so much. Gotta stop now. :)

Update

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was pretty non-eventful. I did see "The Notebook" though. It was a nice movie; made me cry twice. ;u_u;;

-------
So, as you can see if you've visited my site before, I've given it a whole new look. It's even more Dragonball-y than it was before. I know that not everyone is a fan, but hey, DBZ is what got me into anime, manga, and Japanese culture in the first place and it will always be my first true anime love. ^_~

Also, I finished coloring the Inuyasha picture I mentioned a few days ago. The drawing is good but I colored it with my new watercolor pencils and that part didn't turn out too well. I'm simply a bad painter. And it didn't help that I used the wrong kind of paper (it got quite soggy).=( But I tried my best, and it's only my first attempt with watercolor (since elementary school ^^).

I also finished another Naruto pic. I actually added myself into the scene, which I've never tried before. It's kinda weird, but I think the drawing itself turned out fairly well.

I'll be sure to submit both those pics tomorrow as well as re-entering the Rei picture that got erased.

Tomorrow I'll probably continue working on the (other) Naruto pic I started tonight.

Just thought I'd let ya know what's going on since I haven't updated since Thursday.
