We Are All Gonna Die
For centuries people have put forward ideas about the "End of Days", "Armageddon", The "Apocalypse". Call it what you will, evey society dating from the ealiest humanity have all had a concept of the coming of the end for all life. In this time of war and destruction many believe it to be now, but if one reflects they had many similar ideas back in the forties during this crazy thing call World War 2. This was a time of much greater horror and destruction then we have now, it's just more people are aware of it. But maybe I'm being ignorant, maybe we really are on the cusp of death and soon the skies will turn a shade of black velvet. Maybe soon our oceans and rivers will boil over and the beast of seven heads and ten horns will rise from the ocean. In the end the way I see it is, every society talks of it and they all agree on certain points, those being the destruction of the enviorment, natural disaster on mass scale, war. These three things are the ideas that appear most often in writings of the end of days. WE are currently in a time where all these things are becoming evident. For us in the US we only months ago saw the fury of hurricane Katrina, and for those over seas who don't know can look it up if your at all curious. Some blame this on the sin of humanity. Christian zealots like Pat Robertson say things like God let it happen. Now I'm not religious by any means, but I suppose this answers a question I've had for quite sometime "If he's there, what's the nature of God?" and now I know.... He's a prick. He let it a happen, a prick wow. I had heard good things but apparently not. In all seriousness though, do you really think we're that close to seeing our end. The Mayans sure seem to think so. Here's an interesting little factoid for you, according to the Mayan calendar the world will end on December 23 2012 if I'm not mistaken. Appaerently they think the end is near, what do you think? Is all our world on the brink of total destruction or is this all just one big religous, hocus pocus, boggey man show to keep us pure and kind and going to church.
