Hey people! Sorry I haven't written in a while... I'm still injured and haven't felt like doing much. I was also sick over the weekend, I guess this just isn't my month...

Hey! Turns out that I'll be out of running for longer than I thought... That sucks. Well anyways I thought I would update the dayly quote and poem.

"I have become death, shatterer of worlds!" -Robert J. Oppenheiner (after wittnesing the worlds first nuclear explosing)

Little Boy Blue by Eugene Field
The little toy dog is covered with dust,
   But sturdy and stanch he stands;
And the little toy soldier is red with rust,
   And his musket moulds in his hands.
Time was when the little toy dog was new,
   And the soldier was passing fair;
And that was the time when our Little Boy Blue
   Kissed them and put them there.

"Now, don't you go till I come," he said,
   "And don't you make any noise!"
So, toddling off to his trundle-bed,
   He dreamt of the pretty toys;
And, as he was dreaming, an angel song
   Awakened our Little Boy Blue---
Oh! the years are many, the years are long,
   But the little toy friends are true!

Ay, faithful to Little Boy Blue they stand,
   Each in the same old place---
Awaiting the touch of a little hand,
   The smile of a little face;
And they wonder, as waiting the long years through
   In the dust of that little chair,
What has become of our Little Boy Blue,
   Since he kissed them and put them there.

Hey! I'm just logging on to put up the dayly quote and poem... Not much new to me, but I'm still injured.

"Life is no life to him that dares not die. And death no death to him that dares not live." -Sir Henry Newbolt

The Shadow by Alfred Noyes

A shadow leaned over me, whispering, in the darkness,
Thoughts without sound;
Sorrowful thoughts that filled me with helpless wonder
And held me bound.
Sadder than memory, sharp as remorse, in ht qiet
Before I slept, The whisper I heard of the one implacable Shadow,
And my heart wept.
"Day by day, in your eyes, the light grows dimmer,
With the joy you have sung.
You knew it would go; but, ah, when you knew it and sang it,
Your heart was young;
"And a year to you, then, was an age; but now," said the Shadow,
Malignant and cold,
"The light and the colour are fading, the ecstasy dying,
It is time to grow old."
Oh, I could have borne the worst that he had to tell me,
Lost youth, age, death;
But he turned to breathe on the quiet heart sleeping beside me
The same cold breath.
And there by the throat I grappled him. "let me bear all of it.
let her dream on."
Soundlessly, shadow with shadow, we wrestled together,
Till the grey dawn."

Don't have much to report on just thought I would add the poem and qout of the day....

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." -Socrates

Charge of the Light Brigade By : Alfred Tennyson

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

Hey everyone! I just got back from my second race and it ran all boys together. I got 13th over all and 4th for my team (I'm a freshman and did the best out of my school's freshmen). I SHOULD have got 12th, but the damn coach from the other school gave it to the other guy (he even tripped before the finish line!!!!!). I'm pretty happy with my run considering that I'm kind of sick.

"God made men both a penis and a brain, but unfortuantly not enough blood supply to run both at the same time." -Robin Williams

"In the end we will not remember the words of our enimies, but the silence of our friends." -Matin Luther King Jr.

"I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" -Thomas Alva

   hey
Hey there! I had my first high school cross country meet today, and it was brutal! People were stepping all over others, because we were all freshman. I ended up getting 9th, but I could have gone faster... I was too afraid to go out too fast so I didn't do as well as I should have. I'm a little angry at myself , but I will do better next meet (I hope) I haven't been busting my ass for the last 3 weeks for nothing! 8 miles a day (or more or hill or speedwork) starts to make you sore after a while... Well I'm off for now!
