All the Things She Told Me (Part 1, Chapter 1)
The rain was pouring all over the cemetary. The people, dressed in black with their black solemn umbrellas over their heads. Everyone began to leave, but I...I felt the need to stay. Just little while longer. I couldn't leave Hisa's side, I never did. My mother's friend, an old woman of 72, came up to me. I saw her aging face and her wise eyes. She told me " A true friend is always there to the very end". It was true. Hisa had been my best friend ever. Now she was gone, and I had to confront my life as an adult without her. All the dreams we shared, the notion that we would someday grow old together and share our teenage memories while drinking tea where all shattered one night. What killed me more was to know that I had the power, the ability to prevent her death. If I had been there with her when it all happened...she would have been alive...and I wouldn't be here in the rain under the grey sky all wet over her grave.
