   Hello today. ^_^
"In the quiet hours, in the heat of battle, and through the hazards of the day; in times of temptation, of sorrow, of peace and of blessing, let us pray always, both alone, and with our families gathered around us, with gratitude for the blessings of life, for understanding of its problems, and for strength to endure to the end."
Heber J. Grant, in Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Heber J. Grant [2002], 174

Quite simply, we have trials in life, but the Lord will always help us to endure them if we have faith in Him. And we will be blessed both now and in the eternities. I believe in the eternities--it is either that or utter oblivion. I prefer eternity. In my Lord Jesus Christ's holy name, amen.

"Life has its share of some fear and some failure. Sometimes things fall short, don't quite measure up. Sometimes in both personal and public life, we are seemingly left without strength to go on. Sometimes people fail us, or economies and circumstance fail us, and life with its hardship and heartache can leave us feeling very alone.
"But when such difficult moments come to us, I testify that there is one thing which will never, ever fail us. One thing alone will stand the test of all time, of all tribulation, all trouble, and all transgression. One thing only never faileth--and that is the pure love of Christ.
"“I remember,” Moroni cries to the Savior of the world, “that thou hast said that thou hast loved the world, even unto the laying down of thy life for the world, … Now I know,” he writes, “that this love which thou hast had for the children of men is charity” (Ether 12:33–34).
"[...]Moroni quotes his father for any who will listen in some later (“latter”) day, “If ye have not charity, ye are nothing” (Moro. 7:46). Only the pure love of Christ will see us through. It is Christ’s love which suffereth long, and is kind. It is Christ’s love which is not puffed up nor easily provoked. Only His pure love enables Him—and us—to bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, and endure all things (see Moro. 7:45).
Oh, love effulgent, love divine!
What debt of gratitude is mine,
That in his off’ring I have part
And hold a place within his heart.
(“God Loved Us, So He Sent His Son,” Hymns, no. 187)
"I testify that having loved us who are in the world, Christ loves us to the end. His pure love never fails us. Not now. Not ever. Not ever.
"He Will Never Let You Down," New Era, Sept. 2002, 7

Fact of the day:
We interrupt the current, on-going fact of the day to bring you this message. That poison ivy has three leaves, and those leaves are reddish when young? And poison ivy will climb trees, looking like a giant furry caterpillar. And while not everyone is allergic to poison ivy, many people are. Its oily annoyance is secreted from every part of the plant, and it will spread through touch and even when the plant is being burnt. It seems to not affect animals (as far as I know) but they can carry the oil, too. So beware the poision ivy. "Leaves of three, leave it be." If you come (or may have come) into contact with poison ivy, wash it off with soap and water--never just water! Water alone will spread the oil. After it has been washed off, though, the oil is not present and thus cannot be spread. If the classic red bumps appear and produce their clear liquid, that will not spread the poision ivy. Spotted jewelweed, I've been told, will help against poision ivy, but I don't know the details.

And Did you know that mints have square stems? ^_^

(These facts of the day sponsored by training, reading, and some previous experience.)

Update

Equus: I know I haven't been on in a while. That's partly due to some Net trouble with pop-ups. But hi! How is everyone? I'm actually at home right now instead of at work because of slight illness. I was sick Friday night, not quite recovered on Saturday or even yesterday, and now a little sick again. Fun...but I get the day off. ^_^

Xihuitl: She's also going to try to make up hours later on this week.

Equus: True. Blegh.

Xihuitl: Otherwise, things are okay. We're looking forward to hopefully going to a Highland Festival next weekend, with friends, and

"There is need for constant improvement in all of our lives. There is need occasionally to leave the noise and the tumult of the world and step within the walls of a sacred house of God, there to feel His spirit in an environment of holiness and peace."
Gordon B. Hinckley, "Of Missions, Temples, and Stewardship," Ensign, Nov. 1995, 53

Peace and holiness. May God our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ be with you, and may you feel Their ever-abiding love. Love and hugs and pocket hugs. ^_^ Ciao for now!

For I the Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance;
Nevertheless, he that repents and does the commandments of the Lord shall be forgiven;

And he that repents not, from him shall be taken even the light which he has received; for my Spirit shall not always strive with man, saith the Lord of Hosts” (D&C 1:31–33).
And again, verily I say unto you, O inhabitants of the earth: I the Lord am willing to make these things known unto all flesh;
For I am no respecter of persons [not showing preferment to any social or financial circumstances, race, etc.], and will that all men shall know that the day speedily cometh; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand[...]
And also the Lord shall have power over his saints, and shall reign in their midst, and shall come down in judgment upon Idumea, or the world.
Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful, and the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled.
What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.
For behold, and lo, the Lord is God, and the Spirit beareth record, and the record is true, and the truth abideth forever and ever. Amen.
Doctrine & Covenants 1:31-39

Let's strive for His light, the greatest light and love of all! Hugs!

Behold, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers.
Doctrine & Covenants 2:1-2
