In my last post, for all those who thought that green beer for St. Patrick’s Day sounded disgusting well, it really isn’t. All they do is add green food coloring into it so it is green instead of brown but the beer still taste the same…at least that’s what everyone tells me. I hate beer. It tastes like crap.
And glad you guys agreed with me about the flammer. Drawing character’s however you wish is the concept of “FAN art” and people who flame others because of it are either a-holes or nimrods.
I played more Final Fantasy III on my DS Lite. Whee! So fun! I’m not used to giving my characters certain jobs though so they are more powerful in weapons, magic, thievery, etc. Well, except in Final Fantasy X-2 where you’d switch costumes on the characters so they had different powers. FF III is pretty similar except you have to build up on their powers more from scratch. Wow, do I sound dorky trying to explain it.XD XD

I watched more of the anime Kyou Kara Maoh too. Some people don’t like it but that’s fine, I can see why some wouldn’t. The story jumps around a lot and sometimes it’s hard to keep everything straight but I still like it. I pretty much concluded that it was definitely created for girls though even though it is an action anime. Many have asked me what it’s about so let’s see if I can make a little summary:
An average teenage boy named Yuuri is bullied by a group of guys and ends up getting flushed into the toilet and ends up in another world similar to old European times and he finds out that he’s the future king to this world where humans and demons are about to go to war. Except the demons look like humans but they have special powers and Yuuri meets Wolfram and Wolfram hates humans and he verbally bashed Yuuri’s mother and ticks Yuuri off so he slaps him across the face and apparently, one noble slapping another noble is a proposal to marriage so…yeah. Neither of them are too happy about that.^^ So yes, the show isn’t super-amazing but it’s still a lot of fun to watch.^__^
Here’s a piccy of Wolfram(the blonde) and Yuuri(the other…duh). I like Wolfram the best…he’s such a borderline snotXD:

So, I got a little flammer on my last drawing of Yuki and Haru. It was by one of those types of people who hate it when an artist incorporates their own style into a piece and because it’s stylized the characters look a little different compared to how the original creator of the anime drew them so yeah, she was mad because I drew Yuki different and because I didn’t have him smiling? What the? The character Yuki has a charming personality and he appears to be in good spirits on the outside but he’s an emotional wreck on the inside so I wouldn’t exactly call Yuki a “happy person” so I don’t know why the flammer thought he should be smiling. Made me laugh but I still reported and deleted their comment. I don’t tend to tolerate people who flame a piece because the artist tried to be creative. Feh!

So, St. Patrick’s Day proved to be an interesting night at my casino. Lots of loud people, lots of gambling, and lots of green beer. There was this one guy walking around quoting Larry the Cable Guy by saying, "Get ‘er done!" which wouldn’t seem too off I suppose except he was trying to balance 2 very full beers in either hand so he did a good job spilling it all over himself. Lol! Well, he amused me anyway.XD

And I had to close again with the female version of Ronald McDonald…and you want to know what makes her look even more-so like a clown? Our casino’s theme is the fair, as in the inside of our casino is painted and set up to look like a carnival…like the bar is designed to look like a carousel which is pretty neat but anyway, the cashiers I work with have uniforms that consist of black pants, yellow-orange shirts, and mutli-colored stripped vests so….haha! Yeah, she REALLY looks like a clown to me. I told my friend, Gavin about my clown I work with and his eyes just got all terrified when I described what she looks like…mostly because Gavin HATES clowns. He’s scared to death of them. He’s like Wakko Warner in his fear of clowns.XD

With my latest drawing of Yuki and Haru, I got a lot of people asking if I would ever draw a yaoi image. Lol! Well, probably not and it’s not because I wouldn’t want to draw it but more-so because if a family member or someone were to wander on this site or Deviant Art, that is *not* a drawing of mine I would want them to see.XD And if you haven’t seen my latest drawing, then please do, I’d be ever-so pleased:

That’s my last shameless plug for that drawing, I swear!^_^

So, we got a HUGE snowstorm today. Bleh! Our casino was so dead it was hardly even worth keeping open but, NY is a money grubbing state and so, we were forced open for the whole like, 10 people who were dumb enough to go out onto the streets and gamble at our casino. It was an easy day though but…ElvesAteMyRamen did a very stupid thing…I locked my keys in my car!!! *smacks forehead* I didn’t realize it till I was done with work and leafing through my purse and couldn’t find my car keys and I trudged my butt all the way though the parking lot in the snow storm to peek into my window and to find my car keys there in the ignition.>_< This is the first time I’ve ever done that and of course, it was during one of the crappiest days of the year so I called my dad asking if he’d bring my extra set of car keys to the casino. Needless to say, he was not happy but he did…took him an hour to get there though because the roads were so bad but once he did get there, he actually found the whole situation rather funny…but it probably had to do with the fact I was COVERED in snow and looked like a sugar-powdered cake.>_<
So yeah, rather then getting home at 7pm like I usually do, I didn’t get home till almost 9pm. Yeah…a 13 hour work day…not fun.

Quote of the Day comes from comedian, Jeff Foxworthy:
“If you’ve ever stared at a carton of orange juice because it said, ‘Concentrate’, you might be a redneck.”

What the crabapple?! The past few days, the weather has been beautiful and sunny and reaching the lower 60’s and then this morning, I was coming into work and it was POURING rain. That part isn’t too weird but about an hour later, I look out the window and it was SNOWING! And the snow is sticking!! *falls onto knees* NOOOOO!!!! The snow was finally melting and the prettiness of Spring was sprouting and now it’s all death masked by white fluff and we’re supposed to get a foot of snow tomorrow. Grrrr.

Anywho, thanks to everyone who commented on my new drawing! Seems people really liked the eyes which made me happy but it’s kinda funny because I always put a lot of details into the eyes but because my drawings usually show more of the body, you don’t really notice. Funny how being zoomed into the face can do that.XD Anyway, if you haven’t seen it yet, I do appreciate comments so please take a look? *puppy eyes*:

If I were to say the name, Todd Fox, would it ring any bells? Anyone remember the Disney movie, The Fox and the Hound? Well, the fox’s name in that movie is Todd and there’s a barback who works at my casino whose name is…Todd Fox! I asked Todd if he was named after the fox from the Disney movie and he laughed and said, “No, but you’re the first person who’s noticed that!!” Heh…yeah, I was in love with that movie as a kid and when I saw his name, I giggled inside but I thought it was quite a coincidence that his name was Todd Fox. And Todd Fox is also very cute so I didn’t mind the opportunity to chat with him.^_~

I finished my drawing of Yuki and Haru from Fruits Basket so if you could click on the thumbnail below and comment on it, I’d be very appreciative:

I like the way this one came out…probably the fact it involves my favorite characters helps…the colored pencils just blended so well for me on this one so they must have sensed these 2 were my loves.XD And I was shocked when I uploaded this drawing on Deviant Art and in the span from when it was uploaded to when I refreshed the page, which was less then a minute, it got 9 faves! O_O That’s a record for me with the speediness of people faving a piece and it made me blushy and happy.

So yesterday, I went out with my boys and we saw the Reno 911 Movie. I was laughing so hard throughout it and all of us are Reno911 fans so we enjoyed it. Anyone else watch that show? I know lordsesshomaru does but I didn’t know how many others did. For those who do, who’s your fave character? I love Lieutenant Dangle. Just watching him run around in those short shorts cracks me up.XD
Oh, and I bought myself a Nintendo DS Lite too! YAY! I’ve been wanting one forever and we were there at GameStop and Tyler pretty much convinced me to get one. I was lucky, because they just got a shipment of them in and I got the last pink one! Hey shuttup! I wanted the pretty pink one! I bought Final Fantasy III with it and that game is so fun. Go Final Fantasy!!

Quote of the Day comes from a random lame line from my friend, Gavin:
Me: “Yeah well, two wrongs don’t make a right, you know.”
Gavin: “Yeah well, two lefts make a U-Turn.”
Me: “……….yes, that it does.”

I’ve been thinking of holding a contest sometime in the near future. I had held a contest quite some time ago and it was a big success and I got a lot of people contributing to it. Probably because the winners got prizes like posters and keychains and such…I think people like getting anime goodies.^_^ I may wait until summer gets closer though when I know people may have some free time. So yeah, when do you guys start summer vacation so I can start planning?

I worked on my drawing of Yuki and Haru today and it’s coming along nicely. It’s mostly a head shot of the 2 and I already got the skin all done which is the most time-consuming part. I got their eyes done too…the eyes are the most fun.^_^ I hope to have it done in the next day or so but it depends since I’m supposed to go out with my friends.
Oh and a funny comment was said to me and a co-worker of mine yesterday while at work. My pal, Kelly and I were walking down the hallway together and Kelly is really short, at about 5’1” with bouncy curly hair and I’m really tall, with my shoes on I’m almost 6 feet and I have long straight hair, and we were walking down the hall side-by-side, and a barback walks by us and says, “Hey, who let the elf and hobbit out? lol! We both started cracking up because I never had even thought about it but we kinda do look like it…especially walking beside each other.XD

Oh, and sorry! These past few days, I’ve been posting images from an anime that I failed to ever give the name of and people keep asking me what it’s from! It’s called, Kyou Kara Maou and check it out! It rocks my socks! I like the blonde guy best.^_^

When I mentioned in my last post how I collect animation cels, many of you didn’t really know what they were! *gasp* Well, let me enlighten some of you:
When you’re watching an animated series, like Inuyasha, the show is made up of a series of drawings done in a sequence so when you see it on the TV, it appears as if they characters are moving. Animation cels are what cartoon shows are made from and to try and describe what they are physically, they are clear plastic sheets that are drawn on and painted on using special paints and inks so that the colors will be nice and bold for when you see them on TV. These plastic sheets often only have the characters drawn on them and then they are laid over a painted background and so the character will look as if it is in a landscape.
Here’s a picture of my fave animation cel I own that was used in one of the shows of Inuyasha and so you can see what I’m talking about:

I have it set in a frame but if I were to take it out of it, you’d see that Inuyasha is actually on a separate sheet then the background and yes, this is really a scene from the show and I have found the exact episode this came from. It’s pretty awesome watching a show and being like, HEY! I own that!! And since they only use one cel at a time each cel is literally one-of-a-kind hence why people love to collect them and since now, computers are taking over hand-done things, cels are becoming rarer. Inuyasha is one of the last animes completely done by hand. So yeah, I hope that helps explain what animation cels are.^_^

Last night at the casino, I had to close with a cashier that is….weird to say the least. She looks like a female version of Ronald McDonald. She has bright red short fizzy hair, and her make-up is so gaudy it makes you almost pity her but she thinks it’s hott. She’s one of those people that paints her eyebrows on but she paints the eyebrows so they start to go down the bridge of her nose.O_o And she wears loads of blush and BRIGHT red lipstick…yeah, hence why she’s the female version of Ronald McDonald.

For all those who asked how tall my Yuki statue is, it’s 6 inches tall and yes, I feel lucky I got one. I love collecting limited edition things. The biggest thing I love to collect is animation cels. I have a bunch of them from Inuyasha, Loveless, and Fruits Basket. I like my animation cels because animation cels from these shows are literally one of a kind and it’s cool watching an episode on TV and seeing the scene of the cel that you own and knowing that you literally, own a piece of it and no one else can. My fave cels are my full Inuyasha cel that has Inuyasha in it complete with the background, and I have a lovely Yuki cel and I have the scene in Loveless where Soubi kisses Ritsuka for the first time. Yosh, paid a lot for that one…but not as much as the Yuki one. That one cost me the most since a Fruits Basket cel is rarer. And I’ll shut up because I could go on for days about how cool animation cels are.XP

So, my PMS was better today. Lol! I love knowing the guys reading this are fidgeting in their seats. Hey, if you guys plan on getting married to a girl, our problems will become your problems so better learn to deal with it now.XP Man yesterday, holy cow, you’d think that an evil spirit had taken over my body because I was just…so…angry…at…EVERYTHING! I was at work and pissed off, I drove home and was pissed off, I dropped a pencil and was pissed off…just, oi. Darn these female hormones! *shakes fist at them*
I woke up sooooooo tired this morning too. At least I wasn’t crabby but I was as sleepy as Yuki in the morning…I even pulled a Yuki when I was walking to my bathroom and bumped into our stone fireplace. That felt good.>_<

Fact of the Day:
Consciousness: That annoying time between naps.

Oh man, I had such a crappy day and I’m PMSing so just about everything ticks me off. I think most of it had to do with that I usually have Wednesdays off from work but have to work overtime this week because another banker needed a day off so I had to work. Which usually doesn’t bother me that much but…oh man, I just really wanted that day off and things just kept escalating at work and then even on my way home and then trying to pick up a prescription and then roads being closed just…ARGH!

BUT!!! I then get home and am still moody but then…there it is…sitting gloriously on my steps…a cardboard rectangular ray of light….a package for me! And I knew what was in that package…my limited edition Yuki resin statue! I just about did a somersault in happiness because what better way to make ElvesAteMyRamen feel better, then an awesome Yuki-kun statue?! Nothing! That’s what?! So, I opened it and petted it and it made me giddy since I’ve always wanted a statue of Yuki but none have existed until now and when I read it was a “limited edition” it kinda made me laugh because I’m thinking, ‘yeah, limited to what? 3 million?’ but they actually only made 2,000 of these and I got statue #810. Here’s a small piccy of my statue:

I started my Fruits Basket drawing of Yuki and Haru and I’m loving how it’s coming out. I only have the pencil sketch completed so as long as I don’t screw up the inking and coloring, I should be fine. I drew them looking smexy…but Yuki and Haru together just naturally screams smexy.XD

I’m glad you guys enjoyed my little story in my last post…yeah, never a dull moment with Gavin around.^_^ I have another story to tell you guys that happened to me and it’s one that I can’t believe I’ve never told you all…nor do I know why I want to share this story because it’s something that happened a few years ago but Gavin has never let me live it down:
So, my pals and I were at the theaters to see, The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. We get out tickets, walk into the theater, and start getting our seats and let me just state right now, do you guys know that candy that’s called Cookie Dough Bites? They’re cookie dough balls covered in chocolate and they usually only sell them in the theater? Well, I absolutely LOVE that candy, so, we head to our seats and I look down at the ground and say, “Oh! A Cookie Dough Bite! And I reach down, pick it up, put it in my mouth and go, “EW! It’s a Whopper!! You know, those malt milk balls? I HATE those things! So, after I said that, Gavin just stares at me and says, “Wait, let me get this straight. You pick up a random piece of candy…off the disgusting, dirty, movie theater floor…put it in your mouth and proceed to eat it…and the first thing you say is, ‘Ew, it’s a Whopper?!?!’”I’m just… “Heh, yeah.” and Gavin goes into a WTF tangent about how backwards my disgusts were.
Lol! So yes, so to this day, Gavin hasn’t let me forget about that moment. Especially if I see him eating something that I think is gross, he’ll just look at me and say, “Ew, it’s a Whopper. And that pretty much shuts me up. And thus ends my story.^^’’
