A Vampire's Tale ch. 5

Once they were in the room Shael pushed Marlyk up against the wall, "What were you thinking?! Bringing her, a human, into a tavern full of vampires!?" Marlyk laughed, "Don't worry, man, they didn't touch her." Emily nodded, "Um, yeah, it's okay..um..Shael." He smiled at Emily and gave her a chair to sit on. She looked at the very depressing room. There was only 1 candle that lit the small room. Marlyk went and sat on a beat up couch, the opposite side of the room. Shael pulled up a chair beside Emily and faced her. She faced him as well, "So..why am I here?" she asked, confused. Shael chuckled softly, "You're here because I wanted to see you again. You seem like a strong soul and I'd even like you to join the vampire clan." he said, looking seriously at her. She hesitated, "I..um..I'm not..sure...If..you know.." she sighed, not being able to get the words out. Shael stared at her and there became a moment of silence. Marlyk stared at them and noticed all the silence. He became bored and felt as if he needed something to do. He took out his sharp knife. They didn't notice. He began to cut his long white hair. They still didn't notice. Once he was finished, his long white hair was short and kind of messy. Some of it went into his eyes. Emily looked over at Marlyk to say something then..."Oh my----Marlyk! Your long white hair! You cut it!" Shael looked over, "Marlyk..." he sighed. Marlyk laughed, "I got bored. You guys were so quiet. I felt like the world froze or something. Even the crickets were quiet!" he frowned at the expressions on their faces. Emily looked at his hair for a minute "Well it isn't that bad actually. I would say it looks even better than before." Shael looked at her with a are-you-just-trying-to-make-him-feel-better expression. "And I'm not just trying to make you feel better, Marlyk, it really does look nice." Marlyk smiled at Emily and smirked at Shael, "See? My hair looks nice. You heard the young lady say it." Shael rolled his eyes, "I bet she was just being nice." They were talking like Emily wasn't sitting right there. Actually, they had forgotten she was there. "Enough talk, we have to plan our attack on the 'Tech Angels'." Shael said to Marlyk. He nodded and took out a map of the sky ( o_O ). Emily stared at them discussing something about so called 'Tech Angels'. "Um..if I may intrude on your conversation. What are Tech Angels?" Emily asked as they looked at her, just remembering she was there. "Well...If you must know.."
