A Vampire's Tale ch. 4

A Vampire's Tale (ch. 4) "You know you have to come with me, right? Or...you could just stay here..oh yeah..they'll take real good care of you." Marlyk said sarcastically to Emily whom was still looking at his fangs. "Y-y-you're a vampire! I've always believed they were real!" she said, trying to poke one. Marlyk laughed and let her poke one to make sure they were real, and surely enough, they were! Marlyk, the fake doctor, had set this whole thing up in order for him to sneak Emily out of the hospital to meet Shael again. Could these last 2 days be any greater? Or anymore exciting for her? I think not! "Okay...okay..lemme get this straight..um..Marlyk..? You're going to break me out of a hospital to see the guy with ravenblack hair and yellow eyes? The one who saved me?...Shael?" Emily asked, looking into Marlyk's blue eyes. "Yes. I am." He answered, flashing a charming, fangy smile. "Well..um..let's go! You know..before the sun rises." Emily said eagerly. Marlyk smiled again and kneeled down, "Get on my back." Emily looked at him for a second, uncomfortabley. He looked up at her and chuckled, "Don't worry you'll be fine with me. I promised Shael I wouldn't lay a hand on you. Vampires keep their promises." Emily thought for a moment then finally climbed onto his back. He stood up and asked, "Comfy?" She nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck to keep from falling backwards. Marlyk started to walk towards a window. He opened it and looked down, from the 5 stories. "Y-y-y-y-you're not gonna jump are you?" Emily asked Marlyk, whom was looking down at the ground, not blinking. He flashed that same smile and climbed onto the window sill, Emily clinged tighter. She gulped, "You are.." Marlyk looked at the ground and then back at Emily, "Get ready. This is going to be a bumpy ride...heh." He said as he got ready to jump. Emily closed her eyes tight and once again felt as if she was in the longest second ever. While her eyes where closed, Marlyk had gone off the window sill and jumped building to building till he was on the ground...in a single second! "Heh..you can open your eyes now, dear." He said as he let her feet touch the ground. She opened her eyes and looked around, then down at herself, "Well atleast I'm in one piece.." She said looking up at Marlyk, "So..umm..where's Shael live? I mean where can we find him?" Marlyk laughed, "You ask so many questions, dear, just follow me." He said walking down a dark sidewalk and into an even darker ally. Emily wasn't so sure about the ally thing but she followed Marlyk anyways. When she caught up to him, she clinged to his arm. He looked down at her for a moment then shrugged, putting his pale hand on a weird looking brick. Emily jumped as the brick wall engulfed them, like it wasn't really brick, but instead, water. Suddenly they were in a poorly lit tavern. Vampires were everywhere...just staring at Emily. Marlyk looked around at all the vampires, "She's not free to suck upon. Go find your own food." Emily clinged tighter to Marlyk as they walked past hungry vampires, and into a backroom. The room was also poorly lit. In the middle of the room was a table. Ontop of the table was a red candle which was lit. Sitting at the table were 4 vampires. One was Shael, whom was looking at Emily and Marlyk. The other 3, Emily had never seen before. Marlyk high fived one of them, "Hey Deethan, haven't seen you in a while, where've you been?" The vampire with one grey eye and one black eye grinned at Marlyk, returning the high five, "Oh no where. Just hangin around. May I ask? Who is this young lady here? The one with the brown hair. I have never seen her around here before. Is she new to the clan?" Deethan asked, scanning Emily. Marlyk cleared his throat, "Uhh..no. Actually, Shael knows this young girl. Just so you know, Deethan, her name is Emily." Deethan smiled and stood up, walking over to Emily. He bowed and kissed her hand, "Ah, hello Emily. I am Deethan. Very pleased to meet you." he said, looking down at her. Emily, blushed a light red color, "Nice to meet you too." Marlyk coughed loudly and cleared his throat, looking at the 2 of them. Deethan laughed and sat down. "This one over here, beside Deethan, is Cryzed. The vampire who had been reading a book of spells looked up, his shoulder length, light black hair covering one eye. His grey eyes focused on Emily now. "Hmm. It is nice to meet you..Emily.." Cryzed said looking at her in a sort of disgusted but also suspicious way. She nodded at him, noticing his unwelcoming gaze. Marlyk whispered in Emily's ear, "Don't worry, he's like this with everyone. He is very nice once you get to know him." She nodded again and smiled at Marlyk. "And that one, curled up on his chair, is Sicem. We don't know his real name. He doesn't speak or eat. So we named him ourselves. I'm still wondering how he's alive. Emily looked at Sicem for a moment and frowned. She walked over to him. He didn't look up at her or even move. He was just staring into blank space. She kneeled down so she could be face to face with him, "Hi, I'm Emily. It's nice to meet you, Sicem." He didn't move so she stood up and went to stand by Marlyk. He looked down at Emily and then at Shael. They seemed to be sharing a glance that held a message. "Emily, may I see you back here? Marlyk you can come too." Marlyk smiled and Emily nodded.
