Naruto withdrawals...
*twitches* Lonnie just had to pick me up when I was right in the middle of chapter 64. Right smack dab in the middle of it! Now I don't know what's going to happen next and I'm so...irritated about it! Xio says I need to calm down and think about something else...but, I can't it! I told her at lunch that I'm having a case of obsessive compulsive disorder, heh. But being so obsessed with Naruto is a good thing! Yesterday, I received two new guestbook entries both of which were from others of whom like Naruto(and one who liked both Naruto and Metal Gear Solid(!!)). Both of which I swear I'll try to sign their guestbook entires ASAP!
Whew, yesterday was quite eventful(in my eyes atleast). We still had to play soccer, but thankfully the field was dry. It was just really, really cold so I borrowed Lonnie's sweatshirt and his ERT(Emergency Response Team) pants to wear during the game since I was wearing my soccer t-shirt and shorts. Brr...
Anyway, we lost horribly. We almost caught up but the other team was just way too good. It was the team that could sub the entire field and they're also the team with all of the best players in the Optimist league I'd say. But, the score by the end of the first half was 6-2, in the other teams favor.
I wasn't playing goalie first half, so don't blame it on me! =P I played defense for a few minutes before the fill-in coach(our regular coaches had CMU stuff to do that day, so one of the parents was called to fill in for them) had me switch to mid-field for the rest of the half. I played pretty well and we almost got the ball down to the goal a few times while I was on the field, but, no luck while I was out. I don't think we actually scored until somewhere near the end of the first half.
Then during the second half I went out and played goalie. I played one of my best games ever out there in the goal. I blocked all of the shots except two. One of my memorable saves was when the ball was kicked towards the side of the goal. I rushed over to it, slid across the ground, grabbed the ball and did a little roll so I would land back up on my knees. That was sometime near the end of the game, though...
I also braved getting kicked in the stomach a few times by rushing up to a player and grabbing the ball just before they kicked it. Its sort of an intimidation thing. You rush up there and dive for the ball and they're going to hesitate to kick it because of the fear that they'll hurt you in the process. I did that twice, the second time I did it the ball got away from me because the person actually got to kick it before I could snatch it, but luckily the defenders got it and booted it down the field to the forwards. The kids who played defense yesterday did a great job! *gives a thumbs up*
Ah, it was a good thing my mom wasn't at the game yesterday. She would have freaked during the first half but more during the second half. During the first half she probably would have had a heart attack if she had saw when I got tripped and fell onto the ground, only barely recovering by doing a nice little roll to stop myself from hitting head on with the ground. Whew...
She always freaks out when I'm playing goalie, though, because of all of the things I'll do like run up and grab the ball just as someone's kicking it or fighting over the ball on the ground with someone(that's only happened once, I swear!). Ah, well, she was a bit upset that she couldn't make it though. She was just too tired and I understand that. She's been working a lot lately to try and keep things orderly at work.
Gah, I can't wait until Wednesday. Mrs. Stratton finally got our Hero essays graded and she's going to be handing them back. She made us suffer by not handing them out today. >.> Today, instead of doing another writing assignment, we started reading The Outsiders. Its pretty good so far. We only read the first chapter, though. It sucks that along with reading the book we have to do other things, too, like study plot and character development...
Going back to yesterday...I started reading a book called A Stranger With My Face by Lois Duncan who I had heard, from Xio, was a good author. And indeed she is! I absolutely loved the book! I was almost completely done with it last night! I think I had about 20 pages left in it before I finally turned off my lamp and went to bed. Then I finished it today during Jumpstart, but didn't have enough time to take a test on it...After I do take a test on it and return it to the library I plan on checking out her other books, too. Xio said that Ransom was good(although she was pissed about the ending) and I've been wanting to read Don't Look Behind You since Xio started reading it and told me how good it was.
I watched Friday the 13th Part II to V last night and I've paused part VI momentarily today so I could get on the internet for a little while. I plan on watching the last three movies(or atleast try to) tonight. We'll see, though. I don't like missing Monday night TV on CBS...or Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or Friday. Er, well, I think I'll just stick to watching the movies when the soap opera's are still playing after I've gotten home (Arrival time at home after getting off the bus: 3:15 PM, Time the soaps stop playing: 5:00 PM, so its the perfect amount of time to watch a movie).
Xio's going to give me ten dollars so I'll go to Sam Goody and buy her Saiyuki #3. I told her it'd be best to give it to me on Thursday because I'll be in town that day for soccer practice or Wednesday depending on if my mom needs to go to town after she picks me up from Xio's house after Math Club. She told me straight out to: now don't you buy Naruto with this!(or if she didn't she sure was thinking it o_O) Of course, buying Naruto at this point would be wasteful. I'm so far into the series I don't even think they've released volumes for the chapters I've read. I think they've only released up to #4 over here and I'm way past #4...
Ah, well, I think I'll go return those guestbook entries and visit everyone's site(or atleast try).
