Updated: Fri. June 30
Mood: Enjoying the sun

AerithHoly crap, the crèche has its first padawan posted, check her out [here]. Heh, alright you horde of masters, don’t hurt the poor girl now. =P

What else? Oh yes, you graphically inclined people, if anyone would like to make and contribute banners, of various sizes to the crèche, please feel free. I’m making a banners page for it, so that people can display them for a little advertisement. I’ll host the banners for you, and you’ll get the credit for making them, of course.

----------------------------------

In other news, I’m so glad to see the sun shining! It’s been down pouring for days here. It rained 8.5 inches here in four days. Do you know how much frackin rain that is?? That’d be like, over 7 feet of snow. The rivers are starting to flood, people are dying in flash floods, and some communities have had to be evacuated because of flooding. The ground is so saturated. So finally, the sun! But it’s still really humid and hot, so it’s not helping to dry things out with all the moisture.

I was driving to work the other day, and there were a couple of inches of water flowing down the road like a little river, it was scary. o_O It really doesn’t take that much to sweep car tires out from under you.

I haven’t been around to sites lately either, cause my computer died for a while. The power source fried itself… and it was NEW, oaijfoewiddd.

Shadow: I was going to make your banner when I promised I’d do it, but the power source on my computer fried. Like literally, that was a little scary also. I bought a new one though, and John put it in. Thankfully, it didn’t fry my motherboard when it went, so my computer is back up and running.

Mood: Exhausted

AerithI should apologize for not visiting like, anyone but my padawan, over the last few days. I’ll try to get around to people today. It’s my day off! We love days off, yo.

More mentors have been added to the crèche. [View them], love them. But we are having a serious lack of newbies wanting to be padawans. Dany and I have padawans, two in fact, so I know there are new members out there wanting a master. So come on… fill out the form… join. You know you want to. =P Wouldn’t it be cool to have your very own myO guide?

In other news, Milky has asked me to build her a site to show off her art for sale. I’m honored she’d ask me, and I’m excited! Now all I have to do is, actually make it… heh. Shanny = bum. Yeah, yeah, I know.

Bannerage: In case the PM’s are being cockbites again, Jess, this is for you:

^^Click^^

Shadow babe, I was going to make yours tonight, but it’s late, and I’m tired and cranky. =P So I promise I’ll get it done tomorrow.

Hot, HOTAlright, alright, I have the crèche up and going, but I haven’t added all masters who sent in their form. I do apologize for being so slow the last couple of days. Hopefully I’ll get you up today some time. But we still need padawans! Come on new members, no newbies have filled it out yet. I know there has to be some of you willing to do it. Just click on the link in the box above the post for more info.

[My Padawan] - And then, take a look at my padawan’s page. Cause gosh, it’s just the cutest thing! Okay, its far more squealable if you are a Knight’s of the Old Republic fan, but still. Atton = love.

[Okita Tribute] - Then, here’s a great Okita (Peacemaker Kurogane) tribute. Man, him and Kenshin… prettiest samurai, ever.

That’s all the goodies for today kids. Padawan, I have something for you, but I’m short on time now, so I’ll have to PM you later.

Mood: Disappointed

Hot, HOTJust a quick post for today. It’s another early morning for me… not functional yet… urg, So… the crèche for the mentors program is up and running! The website is linked right above the post here. Which is pretty funny, cause even after I put that link up there early yesterday morning, I still got plenty of “when it’s ready you’ll have to link it” comments, and it’s right above the post, haha.

In other news, I’m very disappointed. The reason I am going into work so early today is so that I could have the evening off. And why was that? So the hubby and I could go see Cats. Shanny = musical fangirl. But alas, we will not be going to see it after all. Due to sold-out-ness and my retarded-ness, we won’t get to see it. And it sucks, cause I was really looking forward to going tonight. Boo!!

Packages still haven’t come either… yeah, the world’s hating me right now.

>>Dany - Your padawans have been bad. =P None of them have contacted me yet.

Mood: Tired

All hail AerithI feel lazy. It’s my day off, so I guess I could be lazy if I wanted, heh. Oh man, I was pretty sure I had something to post, then my mind just went sort of blank as I stared at the screen. o_O Um…

Oh yeah, I am working on a site for the mentoring thing; it’s going to be called the Crèche. Adoptions, crèche, get it, anyway, hopefully that will be up and running today, in the basic sense, just to get things started. Thank you Dany for brave.net! =P I am hoping that having something newbies can fill out without having to confront a master outright to begin with, will help draw them out. I know there are plenty of new members out there. o_O All you really have to do is step up and say you want a master.

Still no package, damn it. I want my cloak. I may have to kill a vendor or two.

There will be a music change on this site very shortly. Heh, and for Jason whose Miami Vice-ing it up… aaand a certain Ulric, I’ll do an 80’s flashback, yo.

Yeah, that’s really all for today. I’m not much in the mood to type out Celtic stories right now.

Mood: Extremely annoyed (I just spilt water ALL over me, gah)

HehNow to bitch about work.

I stayed after an hour and a half last time to help out. One of our girls had to go home early. Her sister called from Pittsburg (where the rest of her family is located), her brother was shot and killed. Isn’t that a horrible call to get? And I really stupid way to tell someone, if you ask me. They should have called her house first and talk to someone else, and had them come there personally to tell her. You don’t tell someone something like that over the phone when you can do it in person.

And… our assistant manager is quitting. Le sigh. Most of us hate the manager, and the assistant one was the really nice one to work under. The moral has dropped around work already, and she isn’t even gone yet. It’s going to suck.

I’ll talk about Celtic stories next time. Its like 5am, I’m not a morning person, and I have to get ready for work, blah.

Dany – Heh, if only the rest of us were so endowed, eh? XD Heh, and what can I say, there’s just something about us fantasy buffs.

Shadow – I’d SO love to take you with me!

Loni – It’s all about the cleavage isn’t it? I wonder how comfortable bodices are. That’s right, it’s MINE. =P

Updated: Wed. June 21
Mood: Still a little sunburnt from Sat

HehKilts, sun, music, and more kilts. This is going to be a long, rambling post about hawt Irish men, Scottish terriers, and clans, you have been warned. =P Oh yes, theme change to Faye-faye. And a music change, just cause I can’t get enough of that song. XD I'll complain about work yesterday, tomorrow... if that makes sense.

That about sums up the Celtic Festival. By the end of the day, is was almost strange to see a man not wearing a kilt. So yes, Loni dear, there were many cosplayer-ish like people. Some with the full Celtic outfits, and girls in bodices, and everything.

There where lots of Irish and Scottish clans there to celebrate the festival. They started the day out with like a mini parade. All the clans and their banners followed the piccolos, bagpipes and drums. Then they sort of went through a roll call where all the clans got to yell out their motto. Interestingly enough, clan Wallace was there (remember Braveheart anyone? William Wallace?). Heh, and of course their clan slogan was “Freedom!!!!” Speaking of which, I have never seen so many Scottish terriers in one place in my entire life. o_O

The dancing stage was cool. The first group we watched was a troupe doing traditional Celtic festival dances. They were awesome. A troupe of dancing gypsies followed them up. They looked awesome. I kept seeing them walk around the rest of the day in their flowing skirts and dangling jewelry. We even past two of the girls later and one of them was standing their chatting balancing her basket on her head. I am still mad I didn’t get a picture of her. -_-

The coolest band we saw was this band from Ireland called Grada. Oh man, they rocked. They did a mix of traditional celtic reels and modern original music. Their lead singer was a female and she had one of those cool haunting voices. They were so good, that I really can’t think of any other way to describe them. The standing bass player was pretty hot, and well, so was the fiddle player. Mmm, Irish men. All the poor Irish bands there were so miserable all day. None of them were used to the heat and humidity, and the poor bastards roasted.

I actually didn’t end up getting any Celtic jewelry like I wanted. Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty to choose from. But I got something cooler! Two things actually. One of them was a very pretty garland with yellow flowers and ribbons that wraps around your head. Like what people used to wear around their heads during weddings and festivals. So of course I had to wear that around all day. =P And then I bought a cloak! It’s a purdy pale forest green, with a hood, and a silver clasp to hook it together. Its totally awesome. Unfortunantly, due to the vender's fuck up and her giving people the wrong bags (she was holding mine for me) I must now wait for her to send it to me, so I didn’t get to take it home. Doesn’t that blow? But hopefully it’ll be here today. And who knows, maybe I’ll have to post a pic of me in it with the hair wrap. As well as some other festival pics.

I’ll probably think about more things from Saturday to post about later, oh like the black smith’s story, and about the Celtic storytellers, but we’ll end it here before it gets too long. Though I know some of you who visit me do read all of people’s posts, so thank you.

And last, but not least. The best three T-shirts I saw for sell at the festival.

Mood: Waiting

HehIf I had to wait on one more rude person at work, or deal with another foul mood co-worker, or read another snark comment around here today, I think I may pull my hair out. What is it with people that the nasty ones come out in droves? Bah, wankers.

Anyway! I am going to a Celtic music festival tomorrow! Or today, if you read this after midnight on Saturday. Which is most likely. So while you read this, I will be there. =P It’s going to be great. It’s supposed to have multiple stages for Celtic bands to play, storytellers, master weavers and craftsmen, the whole deal. And apparently is big enough to have shuttles to take people around to the different areas. I’m excited. I hope they have people that sell Celtic jewelry; I want something nifty, heh.

So while I am off listening to Celtic music, I’ll leave you with some as well. Another Clannad favorite of mine. Remember them? Enya’s family. This song was made while she was still with them.

Have a good day everyone! Cause I know I will. =P

Light in the DarknessAll the links in the side bar are now operational! The friends page is up and running. So again, if you’d like your button linked there just let me know. If you’ll notice also, the RFP page is now up and running as well. If you are pretty sure you commented to me that you’d like to rejoin and you don’t see your name under the members list, comment on this post, or PM me. Heh, sorry Sephy. =P

-------------------------------

This is going to be a personal rant:

My, there has been quite the bash fest going on around here lately. I will never, never understand why people must run others down to inflate their own ego. Is it something in their genetic make up, you think? I mean seriously, what a pathetic way make yourself feel better. Buuut, I suppose it’s a problem that we’ll never get ride of, mainly because people are retarded.

If you don’t know one of the problems I’m talking about, check [this] out. That’s right, as ridiculous as it is; they’ve formed their own hate club against our Milkycat. As for other problems, I have said my peace about them and I’m done with it.

As for this hate club, it’s the age-old question, of if they hate someone’s art so much, why can’t they just not look and leave it alone? This is another thing I will never get. As one of those, “brainless girly-man-lovin' fangirls with no eye for real talent,” I do want to clarify one point very well. Although I do love Milky’s art, and yes, am one of her fans, I have never defended her because of that fact. I defend her because she is my friend, my friend, you miserable, good for nothing bastards. She has been my friend for a good while now and has stuck by me during the worst of it. That kind of loyalty is irreplaceable. We have never went out of our way to push our preferences on others, so I wish they would all just shove off. But I realize, that would be far too hopeful.

As for other matters, Shadow, babe, is one of my best friends. She’s the nicest, sweetest person I know. She has stuck with me through a lot as well, and has always shown me loads of support. And I won’t let anyone run her into the ground for something she doesn’t deserve either. Check the myO rules and you’ll find flaming is not allowed on this site. If I see it again, I won’t even bother to comment, I’ll go straight to Adam.

HimuraWhere did these ratings of Otakuite, senior otaku, and so on come from all of a sudden? o_O And what exactly makes you what? Apparently, I’m labeled Otaku Legend, but I know people who have been here almost as long as I have that are senior otakus. That isn’t quite fair.

Anyway, it seems there are a few of you who’d like to be mentors. Which is excellent. So far we have…

Nightbeck
Shadowlight
Color Me Evil
burningdeamon

If I’ve missed anyone just let me know. Now the problem is, we need newbies, or as the site calls you now, Otakuite’s to be padawans. Come on, does it sound like such a bad thing to have a mentor to help you get started in this big ol’ community? I’m sure some of you out there would appreciate the help of a senior member. You can even have masters/padawans of the light and dark side, for those of you who prefer a touch of evil in your days, or the path of mister nice guy.

I have one of each. =P Jess is my light side padawan from the otaku, and Shadow is my dark side padawan off the O. So it’s up to you.
