HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Wow, this has got to be the latest update I've ever posted...

It's my brother's Birthday today! My eldest brother, Michael. *Smiles* I drew the picture above for him, but I didn't have any time left to colour it (but maybe that's a good thing, since I'm still unsure of where to shade and where not to...). I can't remember the last time I drew a cake... ages ago, I think. Man, I wish I could draw food like the food in Tom and Jerry. They never fail to make my mouth water. lol.^_^
If you're wondering who that is in the drawing, it's me. See the necklace? Yup, that's my name! And I'm wearing a Christmas hat since it's so close to Christmas, and there's a party hat in my hand for my brother's Birthday, so this is a mix. And I drew Kilala, too. She's kinda annoyed with me, because of the party hat I put on her head, but I thought it would be cute! Anyway, I hope he likes it.^-^
(You don't have to read this next part if it's too long. I don't mind.)
Guess what? Two of my "How to Draw Manga" books have arrived! It's going to be a big help with my drawings. They even have the proper way to do paneling, showing how square and rectangular panels are more commonly used because they make the manga easier to follow. It says that they frequently appear in shonen and seinen manga (manga for elementary school age to teenage boys [so it says]).
The shojo ("girl" [again, so it says]) and ladies manga have the panels in all different kinds of shapes, making it look a lot more complicated. It says that they allow you to produce "dramatic compositions", but to take care, because they can make the page difficult to follow for the reader. You got that right... *Mumbles*
Oh, and it says not to draw the characters' heads the same size in every panel, since it creates "visual monotony", making it boring to the reader. (I'll have to remember that...)
It also has different kinds of "Speech Balloons", for shouting or complaining; cheerful and excited voices; for expressing fear or weariness in a voice; and one for portraying loudspeaker announcements or emotionless voices. (You can tell I used some words from the book, eh? lol.)
And it has "Thought Balloons", but there's not much to say about them...
Well, I've talked enough about my manga books for today, but you will be hearing more from me very soon! I do have to post my drawing of Miroku and Sango, after all. *Smiles* I'm going to visit everyone today, and when I've done that, I'll go through your archives to catch up on everything I've missed. Sure, it's going to take a while, but I will do my best.
Bye for now.^_^
