[sleepy evening]
Hello again. I don’t know where my time goes sometimes, suddenly it is 10:40pm and I still have things to do! I got distracted making an eCard for a contest, and I was making dinner, then on the phone for a while, oh! I found this cute youtube video!
[youtube link] it is a song by a band named The Weepies and someone has put together a sweet little video using stop-motion, yay!
I had a day off work on Thursday, I had a good sleep through most of the morning X3 hee hee! Then Craig and I met up with Jacqui round at Paul and Emma’s new house [I used to live with Jacqui while I was at uni], which was nice as I rarely see her these days. The weather was lovely, so we just walked down by the river. There is an old shrine in a park there, just a worn carving in a rock face, but I’ve been wanting to see it for AGES. [Minerva’s Shrine] Days off are fun! I got out of work at 2:30 today, which gave me most of the afternoon to myself. I bought a game for the Wii – Lego Starwars! Yay! I had wanted to go to the library, but it was closed, so I just bought myself a milkshake and sat near the Cathedral for a little while. So relaxing. It looks like I’m in work every day next week, unless someone wants an extra shift… I’m not so hopeful of that! Ah well.
I have to go and bake Emma and Paul a cake, they said that they’d be willing to buy cakes off me, so I’d best get on with it. I’m making a Victoria sponge for them this week – one of those sandwiched together with jam and cream. It’ll be an effort not to eat it! I’m hungry…
*hugs*

My house was invaded by randoms today. I got home from work, jumped in the shower, and washed my hair. While I was drying off I heard my front door open, I assumed it was my housemate returning home. I soon heard a knock at the bathroom door, so I called out “just a minute!” and then heard retreating footsteps. When I was dressed I went downstairs to find three guys and a girl who I’d never seen before cooking dinner in my kitchen! My housemate wasn’t in after all! It turns out she’d lent some of her friends a key while she went to the shops.
I’m just glad that whoever it was knocked on the bathroom door rather than just walking in! >_<
Dearie me. Anyway, I get a day off tomorrow! Joy! I’m not so sure if I’ll get a day off next week as Amy is quitting her job at the café. That’s a shame as we’ll be one person down in the kitchen, and I’m not comfortable cooking loads of orders when it gets busy… Aiden is leaving soon, and Hannah is going to continue her studies at university, so she won’t be available so often either. I think this is stressing my boss out :S I just hope that I can have two days off per week, one for the charity shop, and one for me to REST! *phwoooo*
I do hope that the place in Manchester gets back to me. If I get to do some volunteering there is is likely to be during the week, which means i'll have to quit the charity shop on Sunday... Tricky, i'll feel bad for leaving as I know how busy they get, but this Manchester thing sounds like JUST what I am interested in... I suppose nothing has been decided yet, no point jumping the gun, eh?

Time to change the music

I feel like i've been away from this site for quite some time, even though I don't think I actually have. Work is keeping me busy. Work also makes me tired XD heh. I send everyone hugs.
One of our regular customers in the cafe complimented my cakes *is happy* she said that she'd even buy whole ones from me if I baked some around Christmas time. That's something for me to think about ^^ i'd need to buy some more cake tins though.
I still want to make that Haku/dragon cake [from Spirited Away] that Caprisha drew for me ages ago... I wanted put a link to it here, but apparently it has been deleted from this site... That's so sad... I think I have it saved on my laptop... I hope so.
On Tuesday I had a day off work [yay!] so Craig and I made chutney using the tomatoes and onions from our share of the allotment ^^ it tastes yummy! I've already eaten through half a jar. I should update my recipe world. I've left that place gathering dust for too long...
Letters are special, I wish I had the energy to write them more often. I'm feeling a little glum this evening. Ugh. Stupid Aunt Irma [watch this youtube video for an explanation of sorts XD

Desk!

I have a new desk! Well, new to me anyways. I’ve been planning to get one after having a little trouble with my legs, which I think is caused by sitting still for long periods of time, often with my laptop on my lap. Or perhaps it is caused by standing all day at work, I don’t know… I decided to buy a cheap desk for my room, because desks are also handy places to store things. I’d picked out one I liked in a catalogue, but I hadn’t had time to go and order it yet.
When I got back from work today I peered out of my bedroom window to see the state of my plants [most of which had died during my absence T_T]. I noticed the back gate had been left open, so I went to close it, and I found that a neighbour had left out a little computer-desk in the alley with the rubbish bags! Haha! Free desk! There isn’t anything wrong with it really, the front got a little wet in the rain, so there is a bit of water staining… But I’m thinking of using one of my tie-dye things as a cover, so that’s all good. *grins*
I seem to be acquiring lots of second hand items recently. I have my new desk, then there is the old table that Craig and I found a few months back [hopefully it’ll end up on the allotment as soon as I can find someone with a car to help us move it]. My sister gave me her Wii while I was home. I also have her old MP3 player as it doesn’t work on her new laptop – she did warn me that she may have damaged the battery, so I’ll have to see if it is still alive… But yes! I make use of other peoples cast-offs XD hurrah!
I am getting involved in a discussion course at my church house-group. It is really interesting, even though we have only started. It just seems to merge with issues I think are important, like addressing poverty, environmental damage, faith… So I am excited to actually have the chance to discuss things with others.

Thanks for all the comments everyone ^^ it is lovely to hear from you again. I’m still busy at work, but I’ll drop by when I can *gives hugs*

Tired...

Hello ^^
I got back from my holiday yesterday, I went home for two weeks to visit my family and take a break from work. I just wish it didn't take so long to travel down there, it takes me eight hours to travel from here to my parents house, tis a bit too long really. Sitting on a coach for that long is tiring, I can't read or play my DS as I makes me nauseous... Bleh. I end up just sleeping the miles away, for some reason being on a coach makes me sleep, I can't help it, I just can't keep my eyes open!
While I was home I caught up with a couple of friends who I hadn't seen in over a year, we spent an evening playing on Libby's Wii and eating tasty food :D good times. I'm hoping that she can come up and visit me sometime, but it depends on how much holiday she can get.
I spent a week with my family down in Cornwall too, we've been going there every year in the summer since I was about ten years old, it is a beautiful area. We even had enough sunshine for me to end up with more freckles XD I don't get a tan, just freckles, hehe. My sister and myself spent some time in the sea with our old battered body-boards -- fun fun! The waves were pretty decent the days we were there, and we went in during the evening, so we could enjoy the sun-set ^^
I'm back home now though, back to work too. I'm not sure of the whole situation, but my bosses are helping at some summer fete/charity... Thing. Anyway, the point is -- they want eighteen cakes and as many scones as we can bake by Sunday! I usually bake four cakes at once, but today myself and Dave were frantically cooking eighteen cakes! Ugh. Poor Dave had already cooked about five batches of scones that morning too. So, my turn tomorrow, trying to bake as many scones as I can O_O
Wish me luck guys...
<3 hugs to all~!

My new post box!
Ugh, work today was horrible. So busy! There were only two of us in the old tea-shop today, just me and Vicky. We got battered, there were plates and dishes everywhere, the kitchen was a mess. But we managed – just! We took nearly £400, now, that is as much as the shop would get on a Saturday – the busiest day of the week. Plus, on a Saturday there would be four people working, we only had two until Sarah managed to come over at 4pm.
I didn’t get any lunch, there simply wasn’t time. We closed at five, but we didn’t get all the cleaning done until quarter-to six. I got home just after six, and fell asleep for a while. Heh. I couldn’t be bothered to make dinner tonight, and as I have just received my wages I thought I’d get a take-away. Mmmmm Chinese food is good!
*is very tired*
I’m off home for two weeks tomorrow! Yay! I’m really looking forward to seeing my family, we are going to go to Cornwall for a week, it will be so nice to just relax and not have to bake endless cakes and scones XD These past few days I’ve been stuck in a hot kitchen baking, then working in the shop whilst it is busy, and then cleaning and closing down the shop. All I want to do when I get home is sit about, haha. It’ll be lovely to see some of my friends, I haven’t seen them for months! I just don’t get to visit my home very often these days.
While I was playing on Gimp I made this text box – isn’t it pretty? I’ve had the background image for ages, I found it a few years ago, so I decided to edit it a little, and made this! The code was originally one of those old Neopet boxes, but I changed the image link, and the box dimensions, etc. Now I just need to edit my myO background… I’ll do that when I get back off my holiday though, I won’t have my laptop at home
I hope everyone is ok. I know some of you are I’ll, tired, stressed… I send you all hugs and I’ll keep you in my prayers :3 Take care of yourselves, and I’ll be back… Later!

oooops...

I've been doing rather well at being forgetful, losing things, and generally being a twit lately. On Sunday I completely forgot about my volunteering placement. I didn't realise until after three pm, and I was supposed to be there at one... Feh. I've been going there for weeks! Silly brain. So for the rest of the afternoon I felt guilty for not going.
This morning I lost my house keys, which meant I was locked in, and so could not leave to get to work >_< I phoned my boss, and she was ok with it, she said she'd lost her car keys just the other day. I found my keys about ten minutes later, hiding underneath the shoe rack... I hate losing important things, I get really shakey...
Work was fine, i'm off to visit my family on Friday *dances* I'm really looking forward to it. Craig is all moved in to his new house, tis good that he is settled for once. We tried to make churros [Mexican snacks, similar to donuts] on Sunday, they didn't work too well, but they were edible XD I think the batter was a little too runny. Oh! I have made a challenge/contest for wallpapers, if you'd like to take a look then please click on this

I let my onions loose on the allotment on Sunday ^^ The weather was rather foul, but it felt good digging in the mud, clearing weeds, and planting things that I have been growing for the past few months. The allotment belongs to a friend of Craig's, she seems rather awesome. She also does some guerilla gardening - so I think we'll have to team up someday and go plant things *smiles* because I haven't done that for a while now.
Craig and I got some funny looks as we walked through the streets to the allotment *smiles* perhaps we did look rather odd with a large garden fork and wheelbarrow! Hee hee. I think this will become a regular thing from now on, as both Craig and myself have wanted an allotment for years, we put ourselves on the council waiting list, but we haven't heard anything yet... It doesn't matter though, as a patch of Cheryl's allotment is big enough for what we want to do, and to be honest, a whole plot would be too much work! I'm so excited! I bought some strawberry seeds, as they can be sown now to crop next summer. Craig went another stage up and ordered loads of interesting seeds off the internet XD including a purple chilli pepper ^^
Before we left Cheryl gave us a bag full of fresh veg, beans, potatoes, rhubarb... Yum! I think that i'm going to have to make a rhubarb crumble tonight! I love cooking with food like that, it just feels special after you have picked it that morning! It'll be a while before my onions are ready though, the largest ones are only the size of golf balls at the moment. I suppose yesterdays downpour will have settled them into their new home - I can't say it was settling for me though, I looked like a muddy half drowned hobbit by the end!
[PLUS]:[Two wallpapers on the way! Woohoo!]

Hello everyone! Thank you to everyone for the thoughtful birthday wishes ^^ I didnt get to read them on my actual birthday, but I saw them the day after, and they really made me smile.
[Reply Time]
Belovedseimei Yup! I have been to Liverpool many times. I love it there, it is nice to live nearby as it doesnt take too long to get there on the train, perhaps about forty minutes? Mmhmm ^^
Britty and Kelsey yes Craig is vegitarian, although he does eat fish, which I suppose is a bit of a silly thing for someone who says they are vegetarian. But Craig says that he eats fish because he is comfortable with the idea of killing fish for food. He went fishing with his dad a while ago, they caught a fish, and Craig killed it, then cooked it when they got home. Most of what I eat is vegetarian, but I do like meat occasionally, for example if I go out for a meal, like I did on my birthday. I dont mind eating a little meat so long as the animal gets treated well first, which sadly doesnt happen often, so I tend not to buy meat much. And nope, Ive never eaten deer!
Phew, long babble/reply there XD
I had a lovely birthday ^^ I worked for the first half of the day, then in the evening I went out for a meal with Melissa [my friend who I live with], Craig, Paul and Lucy [Craigs housemates]. We went to a Chinese restaurant, the food was nice, but I couldnt eat it all!
I really felt rather spoilt on my birthday; Craig gave me a pretty cake tin filled with butterfly cakes that hed made! They were very tasty, hes a good cook is my Craig ^^ Melissa gave me two rather pretty wooden tubs to grow things in, they look nice and clean at the moment, I almost dont want to put soil in them! Im thinking that Ill plant some lavender in one of them, then maybe some veggies in the other. Beans perhaps, because they have pretty flowers, and then I can eat them! Ill have to wait until spring though. Something to look forward to!
One of the perks of being twenty two is that I get bumped up to the proper minimum wage XD finally! Thatll be 5. 73 per hour [rather than 4.77 which is what I was earning until now]. Good good. My boss didnt seem to be aware of this until I told him, and he said he thought that the change happens at 23. GRR! WRONG! I double checked and told him that what Id said was correct, so hopefully hell amend my wages.
Thanks for looking at my wallpaper & eCards ^^ I think Im going to make a few more now *smiles* then I have a book to attend to.
TTFN :3 love to you all!

Seems a while since I posted here. Hmm. Ah well ^^ Ive had a good week, Ive been working and baking as usual. On Saturday, after work, I went to Liverpool to see Heartstring [my friends band] play. They were good, played a couple of new songs. They are making an album soon too. They arent a signed band, so they are doing it off their own backs. One of the band members is good at recording and sound engineering, that kind of thing, so theyve sorted the recordings and are waiting for someone to print out the album booklets. I was rather tired from work that evening though, I mean, it was nice to see people, but the volume of the music drowned out most conversation. If you would like a listen then check out hearstringtheband.com I think they have a free download there, and a link to their myspace. Yup, There was really only one other band I liked that played that evening, I have no idea what their name was, I just know they were from the Isle of Man, as their supporters were waving a flag ^^
On Sunday I went to visit Jacqui, which meant I had to skip my volunteering for this week, but they arent normally too busy, so I hope they didnt mind. I dropped by the shop to let them know I couldnt make it that day, before heading to the station with Craig. While we were wandering around Liverpool it started to rain, so we took shelter in a bookshop. Thats just a silly idea when it comes to Craig and myself, I ended up buying three books! One was for Craig as a very late birthday gift, seeing as the allotment never happened [there is a huuuuuge waiting list, it seems more people are getting into growing veg]. The other two were vol. 16 of Fruits Basket [because I have NEVER seen it in a bookstore before now, it is always missing], and vol. 2 of Alichino pretty pretty manga! Sooo There goes 20!! Haha.
When Craig and I got to Jacquis house we played Worms on the xbox360 with Chris [Jacquis boyfriend] and Paul [who ended up living at our house for a few months last year]. Id never played Worms before, so I wasnt very good XD although I did have a few good attacks but Id have to put those down to luck and wind direction. Paul then went to cook dinner, we had roast duck it was amazing. Ive never had roast duck before that, and Paul is a great cook, it was the best dinner Ive had in ages! Craig had salmon as he doesnt eat meat.
Id babble on for longer, but Im sleepy, so off I go TTFN ^^ *hugs to all*
