went walking in the lake district last weekend, it rained... lots... but we had somewhere nice to stay, with heating and a fabby kitchen and beds and stuff (not like the camping barn in Wales, was a little chilly was that). yeah, and we hiked up a massive big hill, man i was tired!

freezing too, my face was frozen *laughs* was fun though. And! And it SNOWED! only on sunday, but was terifficly purdy to drive back home with a nice snowy view out the window. rather windy though, but Al's old car made it!

hee hee

And, um, what else... *thinks* nope nuffin much else to post, just gotta grin and get on with all this work i have to do...

*attempts to look studious with pens and a pile of books*

Have a great week ^_^

   The Amazing Day
^_^ yesterday was fantastic! You know you occasionly get days where everything goes really well? That was yesterday.

Me and Craig finally walked to Wales! Thats quite a way from Chester...

Took us 8 hours! Well, that includes a couple of stops and lunch, soooo... 7 hours walking? ish...

Was sunny and quite warm all day really, but it took us quite a while to walk back, and we left the little village near Welsh border when the sun was getting near setting, so we ended up walking back while it was dark. But it is surprising how good your eyes can see in the dark.

Was nice having a stroll along the river, i love walking in the countryside.

We ended up wandering onto the Duke of Westminsters estate ^_^ Well there wasn't much of an option, thats where the path leads. And, well, the gate was open... and that particlular gate didn't have an obvious keep out sign... Sooo...We sat in a field and had lunch... Surrounded by deer! Ok, they were further away, but only about 50-100meteres!

Then as we were working out how to leave, we got stopped by some security woman who directed us to the exit, she was quite nice about it really.

Hah, so not only were we tresspassing, we had a picnic too! Oh dear me ^_^

And so the walk continued...

We ended up in some soggy field, without an obvious path to follow, so we decided to head for the church over the little hill.

We had to hop over a fence - and it was all going well, until i stepped on the wrong bit - and it snapped! Eeeek! I landed on my feet ok though (quite impressive i thought...!)

And then we were near the church, very pretty church, and the village was sooo cute! The houses are all old and made of stone, someone was cutting grass and it smelt so good ^_^

And then there was the tree... There is a grassy field just next to the village that we walked through to get to the church, and there is an old hollow tree there - but i don't think it is dead! Awesome! I've always wanted to find a tree like that ^_^ We sat inside and munched some food, then carried on walking.

We walked (squelched) around some big waterlogged fields, and got mud splattered up to our knees. We were following the river, but it turned out that the river meanders round in a big loop, so really we took the long way round, but distractions and diversions are more fun!

Oh, then we found a fridge ^_^ You probobly won't think that is very interesting, but it made us laugh, we'd traveled all that way - only to find a fridge! hee hee. We couldnt go any further, as there was a little stream in the way, and it was a bit to dangerous to leap across it (i didn't think i'd make it, and i didn't fancy landing in the grotty looking pool underneath), so we turned back.

^_^

We saw some people rowing on the river on the way back, it must be nice to do that at night, peaceful.

Took me ages to scrub the mud outta my jeans today, and my leg aches a bit, but it was worth it!

And then we got some chips and went to Als house for a while. Whooo did i need that cuppa tea!

I think we are gonna have to go back someday, i want to find that tree again, and show it to Jacqui and people. Hmmm, maybe later in spring, to see if it has any leaves and is alive.

I really hope it is ^_^

The moon was in shadow...
...and then the shadow dispersed...

OK, so who saw the lunar eclipse on saturday night?

It was beautiful, the shadow slowly covered the moon, and then it was just hanging there, like a big penny in the sky, it was kinda pinkish, and pretty.

Was nice cos me and Al were out delivering leaflets to all the student halls of residence at about 9pm, so we saw the shadow gradually move, then we met Joanne and munched pizza and watched a film ^_^

Then later on (at 3am - yah, i'm still semi nocturnal) the moon was back to its big, glowy, beautiful self. And cos it was full moon, the sky was all bright ^_^

reminds me of some quote type thingee...

...i do not fear the darkness - beause it helps me see the stars...

   i just wanna freewheel...
Have had that song in my head for aaages - i loves it ^_^

Have had a fabby week so far, well, a generally good time since i last posted anything. I went climbing last thursday in Liverpool, and got further than i normally do ^_^ we also ate GIANT choccie muffins, and tried to learn the odd random phrase in Welsh! But i cannot remember what the words were, and besides, one of the phrases was 'i do not like coffee, but i hate tea' - and that would be pointless for me to learn now wouldn't it!?

Erm, the weekend was good, Oh! Went to see my friend Al's band Heartstring play in Liverpool on friday ^_^ i think they are ace.

Should anyone be interested they have a myspace
band page if ya wanna listen!

www.myspace.com/heartstringtheband

(oooooooh go me! Advertising!)

Went to church in the evening on Sunday, was good to catch up with people ^_^

I Have worked out how to make anime video things with windows media player!

I have made a couple of my friends little videos using clips from Chobits and music they like ^_^

I was thinking of starting a Youtube account - so watch this space people! *laughs*

Unfortunately, i get too distracted, and end up fiddling with these videos untill the early hours, then screwing up my sleeping pattern... (Why have a pattern? Random is better! *laughs*)

Yah, so that has been fun. Oh, and i got the results back from my exams - i think i did ok *nods*, not quite as good as i wanted, but i passed everything ok.

Oh and i have been listening to music ^_^ i cant ope without it! i Love it too much. My friends have introduced me to new stuff, and i was showing them some of my fave songs, has been good.

(Oh yeah, Relient k are great, and Vienna Teng is fabby, and Duke Special is awesome!)

Been putting up posters and stuff around Warrington campus today, more advertising for Al and his student union presidency thingee. Was fun ^_^

Oh, and i clumsily smashed a glass earlier (riveting reading this is!) oopsie...

Hope everyone is good, take care!

   la la la
Ooooh whadda write today… Hee hee!

Have had a very long day, was up at 7:30, had to go and have my first batch of injections (I am off to Kenya and Uganda in May, for six weeks! Am sooo excited – and a bit nervous too…)

I have to go back for more injections next week, and the week after, and probably the week after that… Fun fun fun!

I am going to be out there with about 20 people from my Uni and we have to do all sorts of things, like eco tourism and conservation, and working with communities out there. I don’t yet know in detail what I have to do as the itinerary is still being set up, but it all sounds fandabbydozy (heh, I aint used that word in a while!)And we get to stay and camp in the Masai Mara game reserve! It is so AMAZING! I'v been hoping and praying i get to go to Africa for ages. I had the chance in college - but my parents wouldn't allow me... But now i get to go for 6 weeks rather than 2, for about the same price! *dances*

It’ll cost quite a bit, so I am going to try and apply for a bursary to get some funding. I thought I’d be ok, but a couple of weeks back the student finance thing (that provides my student loan) said they had miscalculated the amount of money I should be loaned, and they are going to take some back. But it’s all ok ‘cos my family are all being supportive ^_^

Must start to buy things like sunscreen and a mosquito net and cheap t-shirts… And try to learn a little Swahili... I think Jambo means hello...

Anyhoo, back to today, I then came home and went to check emails and the like, and did a little bit of reading about ecological footprints and global warming ( I think both of these are important issues – sometimes we don’t realise what tremendous strain we are putting on our planet… Thing is I am very conscious that I am going to have to take a long flight for this trip… Not doing too good am i? *sigh* But I’ve never been in a plane before, and I try my best to be environmentally friendly as much as I can…)

Then I went over to my friends house to sort out some application forms for the trip.

Spent the rest of the day helping him to print out posters for the students union elections (cos he wants to be the union president next year!)

Took ages! Nearly four hours I think. Was shattered by the end as I hadn’t had lunch due to trying to sort out the forms and what – not. I think I got a bit dehydrated too cos I ended up with a headache >_< Bleah! The three of us ran all over the place putting posters in halls and the lecture areas and chatting to people. But we finished eventually (YAY!) and now the front window of my house has big yellow posters on it! Lovely!

Made meself some food (man I was hungry!) And then had a chat with my housemates and on MSN.

Feel all tired now, but am very happy. Am sitting in my new Nintendo Hoodie (is awesome – but two sizes too large for me *laughs*) and slurping tea, listening to music. I think I will go to bed soon, I want to try and wake up at a reasonable time tomorrow ^_^
Oh pants! Is that the time!? Nearly 2AM eeek! Night y’all!

   springtime sunlight and smiles
"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud"

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Not that it is that near spring yet... but there ARE a few daffydills about, and i saw a tree with pinkish-white flowers yesterday near the Cathedral ^_^ and there are crocusses around too!

We did have snow last week, so this may be a random warm patch, but never mind - the poem is pretty and i felt all springlike - so it stays!

la la la!

Does anyone else find that it takes aaages to load an e-card to the otaku? Mine is still swirling about in the mists of cyber space... Well, one loaded, the other must have taken a wrong turn somewhere, or perhaps it decided to go exploring...

heh heh heh, whadda crazy couple of days ^_^
Heh, i am so shattered, so very very tired - but so happy ^_^

Had a panic yesterday - the fire alarm went off in our house, never happened before, and we were convinced they were broken as they never detected the burnt toast/sausages/steamishness that regularly permeates the kitchen...

>_< oooh it was TOO LOUD! And we couldn't make it stop... I tried pressing the buttons on the big box in the hall - and nothing happened. Our next door neighbour came over to check what was happening, he was ace, trying to help us switch off the HORRID HORRID nasty noise - but nothin worked.

I phoned the Landlord - only to get his answerphone! fantastic...

I had to go stand outside, just couldn't stay in the house >_<

And i was supposed to be going to my mates 20th birthday!

Arrgh! Heh, have to laugh though ^_^

We got it sorted after about 10 - 15 mins of the terrible din (poor neighbours, the guy who came to help has a young kid - i feel so sorry for then, the noise was blasting out into the street...)

And when we had all calmed down i had some of Jo's apple crumble ^_^ was nice.

Stupid steam setting off the alarm...Let that be a lesson to you kids - do not put very hot frying pans into a sink full of water...

***

Then finaly got round to my friends house, and had an ace time ^_^ lots of people turned up, was nice to have a good chat, spent most of the night laughing. Then we all couldn't be bothered to wander off home, so we all slept in thier living room. Well i say slept - chatting till 6am is more accurate! I didn't manage to sleep though. Heh, i loves my friends, we're all nuts ^_^

Then had lectures in the afternoon, but had the time to go home, have a shower and make lunch first, so that was good - i need food does me!

Couldn't keep my eyes open in the lecture, was sooo tired. Did try, i mean it really isn't a good idea to go snoozing through the first of 6 lectures on a new subjuct that i am worried about not understanding... But my eyes were plotting against me, i couldn't physically make them focus half the time! Man that was annoying! heh heh.

Then went to an optional lecture on Tibet, which was interesting.

I cooked a mahoosive stirfry for the first time in, erm, too long! *laughs* must be summut wrong with me, i cant usually get through a week without a dosage of noodles and beansprouts. Ooooh the noodles were goood - from the Chinese supermarket in good ole Liverpool.

Have also had chat with my sis over MSN, she makes me smile ^_^

And have Mochi to munch on and books to read, yes, life is good *nods*

Going to catch up on my lack of shut-eye now...

lectures tomorrow...

But i am sleepy NOW and i have to stay awake ALL DAY...

WHY do i do this to meself WHY?

On the plus side - i made a nice little thing with windows movie maker ^_^ just putting pictures to music, nothing too fancy, but i am quite proud of it ^_^

oh yeh, and my myspace profile is a bit mucked up... can't get anything to make my profile better - tis all out of shape >_< dang... *sigh* how utterly PANTS *sniff*

I am going to listen to the music from Amelie (Go and watch it! Such a great film).

*Hums nice pretty music...*

i'm the only ninja eskimo...
Alicia's magic quiz!

8. I begin this quiz feeling..
happy

13. Stick on your iTunes (or whatever) and put it on random, write down you're favourite lyrics that're in the first song that plays, providing there is any.

Well it is a Capercaillie song, so it is all in Scottish Gaellic (did I even spell that correctly?!). Very pretty though ^_^

2. What was your first thought of the day?

Oh pants, its late…and I’m sleepy

26. Why?

Well that’s what I thought when I woke up… I suppose the first thought of the day would have been just after midnight (I was more awake then), not sure what my thoughts were… something to do with tourism probably.

19. How does the bizarre ordering of these questions make you feel?
I like bizareness

10. What're you wearing?
Jeans, green shirt, t-shirt, my scarf.

22. What would you rather be wearing?
I’m fine ta.

5. What song are you listening to now?
Forward motion by Relient K

17. How does this make you feel?
hah, kinda fits my mood, part of the lyrics is ‘I struggle with forward motion, we all struggle with forward motion’ and am currently writing this – rather than revising… I procrastinate too much!

1. So, you're stuck in the Sahara (of course) and you actually have everything you need to survive. You've been there for ages though and it's getting a bit boring but you're over it really. You know you're gonna be there for quite a while too, but by some genius, a genie appears and tells you you can have one night out/away, anywhere in the world, to do whatever you like, however you've gotta go back in the morning. What do you do?

Visit a library and get out a biiiiiiiiig bunch of books. I need books…

Oh and grab some food.

Then go for a walk in the woods somewhere (with friends would be nice) cos I’d miss trees.

14. What colour would you absolutely never wear, and why?
I don’t really like pink much, I mean as a colour it is ok, just not too much on me ta!

25. Find the last person on your missed-calls list, and describe a meal you would make for them and why.
Oooh let me see, tis Al’s house (does that mean I’d have to cook for all of em? Right, no meat or milk/cheese then). well I’d cook veggi chilli in that case, cos I made some the other day and it was yummy ^_^

6. Where would you like to go in the world that you've never been before and why?
Only one place? There’s too much I haven’t seen…

I am going to Kenya and Uganda soon! Yay!
But I would like to visit parts of China, and Scotland, and Japan too.

18. What was your worst hair style like?
I think it looked silly when I was trying to grow my fringe out. But it can still manage to look messy quite a lot of the time!

3. What song are you listening to now? Give us some pretty lyrics that make you smile.
Shine (well it all makes me smile, so have the whole song!)

in this desert land
I know some rain must fall
see where we began
we've come so far
on this harbor shore
we hear the ocean call
in our minds at war
we have so far to go

shine with all the untold
hold the light given unto you
find the love to unfold
in this broken world we choose

in unending storms
we search for space to breathe
how our hearts are worn
we've come so far
in this desert
how we blossom and we cease
tell your story now
we have so much to know

(By Vienna Teng)

27. I see. Have your feelings to question 19 changed at all?
nah, tis all good.

11. Describe a bowl of spaghetti.
food!

20. Which Disney character would you be?
Quite possibly the dormouse from Alice in wonder land – just cos I spend too much time in the company of mad people (like myself), or drinking tea and sleeping (not at the same time!)

7. There are approximately 3500 members in the International Flat Earth Society (people who insist that the Earth is not round). What would you say to one of them?
Ask them if they have read any Discworld books.

16. What is your worst habit?
I procrastinate way too much.

23. Do you think you've ever bought something with say a 10p and maybe got it back 10 years later? How would it make you feel if you had.

I doubt that has happened to me, but it would be kinda fun.

12. Are you superstitious?
Nope.

4. Where was the largest crowd you've ever been a part of?
Probably at soul survivor, that was a biiiiiiig crowd!

24. Name someone you look upto who probably doesn't know it.
heh, I think I look up to lots of people really. But one person… Ok, Emilie, she works sooo hard, but she always seems to be happy, and she cheers me up.

15. Which question in this quiz do you feel was the best?
Question 1

9. Finish this sentence and put it as the heading of your bulletin.
I'm the only _____ eskimo.

21. I finish this quiz feeling...
like I should get back to revising… this was fun though!
