Echoes of a symphony, playing on your mind... I love these lyrics ^_^
Miricle of being... By Capercaillie...
But before that - I tried to submit a few more wallpapers, hopefully they will be up soon. These are still the early ones - hopefully it will be possible to see me improve as i go on!
Oh! And i have Bonsai seeds ^_^ they were a christmas gift and i am gonna try and grow them... It'll take years and years before the little tree looks like a bonsai - but i shall try anyway! In fact, i have several seeds, so i may try and plant some as 'normal' trees... One day... ^_^ They are Japanese maple seeds, the trees have such beautiful delecate leaves that turn red in autumn.
Here are the pretty lyrics to the Capercaillie song... And i hope people have good weekends!
***
Welcome Mother Nature
Welcome to your home
Welcome to the place you used to own
Decorations fading
The writing on the wall
Illusions of an era free for all
Your eyes will need a shelter
A shelter from the pain
Soaring smoke and burning drops of rain
And all around society
Is living on a prayer
Religion holding fort from despair
The heat wave of a thousand fears
Rainbows from a million tears
Echoes of a symphony playing on your mind
And even when the mornings clear
Its hard to find a reason for
The miracle of you and me
The miracle of being
Reflection on the water
Your face is still as night
Staring like a curse in the frozen light
The prince of hidden treasure
He's kissed the green above
And realised a ripple of your love.
Long time no see... I hope people had a very happy christmas ^_^
*hums jingle bells* I had fun, family came round, saw my granny and my great aunt.
The food was tasty - i've been trying to make myself useful and have been doing the washing up.
It feels good to be home again. What did i last write in here? Can't remember...
I managed to lose my bank cards while i was in Chester... I was ill and had had no sleep... so i dropped my wallet by accident in a shop and didn't notice *grumbles*
I canceled all the cards, and i am now recieving new ones through the post - woo hoo!
I did some last minute shopping on christmas eve, then went to a midnight church carol service.
The vicar guy spoke over a loud speaker after the first song : "please blow your candles out now" - he had such an odd voice, rather spooky... A little like the wizzard of Oz when he hides behind his curtain, and i wouldn't have been surprised if he hads said "this is the voice of the mysterons!" hehehe.
Anyways, it was nice to remember what Christmas is about ^_^ and even though i am too shy to sing at full volume, it was nice to have a little sing song.
Christmas day was good. I managed to call Jo on her mobile as she was all alone at home as she has to work over the holidays. we had a good natter.
I ate lotsa christmas pudding ^_^ and i have the most awesome present from one of my Uni friends - it is a colouring book! It is rather bizare, it is by Andy Sykes (also known as Hexjibber), i reccomend you take a lookie on google. He is obsessed with tea ^_^ it makes me smile.
My sister got me an Iona CD (beautiful celtic/irish music), and i have a box of chocs to nibble on while writing my work that i REALLY have to get done...
Other than that i have been making wallpapers - that one day i shall upload onto here!
I have submitted one new one that i made a couple of weeks ago. The new ones i made today are better (i think!) but i will submit them in the order they were created - or thereabouts!
*slurps tea* good grief that was a bit of a rant! *pats the head of whoever reads all of it* there there...
Not been here a while... Busy busy...
Only one week at university to go before i can go home, am leaving on the 21st ^_^
Handed my assignment in (after a night of no sleep trying to get the word count down), have been making dinner for housemates - is fun. Helen even asked for secconds! Yay!
I Made a veggie shepherds pie (i hate the smell of minced meat cooking...)
Ooooh i want to make mince pies! (mince pies, the raisin and fruit things - not minced meat pies... this IS rather confusing).
My housemates made christmas cookies ^_^ we decorated them (i nade the stars and holly leaves look Nintendo styled with smiley faces).
And i made paper chains with Craig ^_^ but they fell apart as we were using sticky things not glue... But we mended them the next day!
Then a couple of us watched The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe... I nearly cried when Aslan gets taken to the stone table... Even though i know what happens...
I've always wanted to give him a big hug ^_^ lovely lion... Comments (2) |

*makes a silly noise* Heh heh... Oh, ok... I'll be a little bit more sensible...
I've been staring at my laptop all day... I can't find the right research i need... I tried reading a book and fell asleep... Nnnnnnnngh...
I am listening to music from Lord of the Rings - it is so dramatic, i thought it would wake me up... But the music from the end credits to the last film starts by singing 'lay down your sweet and weary head'... zzz...zzz...zzz...
*head droops then smacks onto desk*
...Gah! Whazzat? Oh?! I am awake!
*cough*
Sorry ^_^
I spent yesterday evening trying to help cheer up a friend who is going through a rough patch right now, bless her cotton socks. I don't know what to say sometimes, and i feel a bit useless... All i can do is give her a hug and a mug of tea... i hope that helped...
Oh, and i rescued a potted plant from Tescos, the poor plant had been neglected, not been watered for ages by the looks of the soil. It was reduced to 10p cos it looked all manky, but i took it home, re-potted it and gave it some compost and a drink, and literally within hours it was all green and the flowers had perked right up! I must have a few green fingers ^_^
We watched Bill Bailey DVD's too - he is soooo funny! Ha, i love him, he is so talented, he doesnt just do stand up comedy, he sings and plays piano and guitar while telling jokes, in fact the music is funny itself, especially the songs. ^_^
On a random note, I came downstairs today and one of my friends had labeled EVERYTHING in our living room with post-it notes. Hee hee, the walls, the pictures, the tables, the windows, stuff lying on the floor, he'd labeled them all! Hee hee hee.
I really should do work, i only have to write 1000 words, but i cant find the information i need... Poopy... Oh well.
Oh! And i am off to see Capercaillie tomorrow! *dances* the last time they were canceled, so i've been looking forward to this for a month now.
" Sometimes you are not ready for something until you can be happy without it. " The title of the blog is something my sister said... It is making me think...
Anyways, Bonjour mon amis! Geneva was fabby - if a little cold at times. We went to meetings at the UN, it was bizare to be sitting in rooms where people regularly discuss world issues and pass laws or make suggestions that have dramatic global impacts...
The building itself is rather huge and easy to get lost in, most of the walls and floor were made of different types of marble or other stone - it must have cost a fortune to build!
We were shown presentations from different organisations such as the World Trade Organisation, the World Health Organisation, the World Metereological Organisation, and other people involved with peacekeeping or the trafficking of rare species (CITES).
We had the chance to ask questions, although i didn't think of anything good to ask... Bit silly of me really...
I did make lots of notes however, and i have collected plenty of leaflets and booklets about the organisations ^_^ They weighed my suitcase down quite a bit *laughs*
We had the lectures/meetings from 9:30 am - 3pm each day, it felt odd having to go through security every morning to get into the grounds of the UN. In the evenings we were free to walk around the city and get dinner.
I felt a bit bad as i had forgotten most of the French i used to know, but i tried to say what i remembered ^_^
I have decided i don't want to get on a plane for a while though... Partly for environmental reasons, partly for money costs... And partly cos the air pressure changes really REALLY hurt my head and ears >_< ouchie...
On a random note i bought Japanese rice cakes on the UN shop ^_^ very tasty snack, i wish i knew what the writing said on the packaging (i can't read Japanese at all), and they have cute pictures on the packets too!
And yay for Toblerone chocolate, mmmmmmmmm
*hands over a rice cake to everyone who bothered to read all this blabbing* hee hee Comments (4) |

***Added-edit***
Nnnnngh am a likkle bit stressed. Have to sort out the start of my dissertation, write a 3000 word literature review, and plan a questionnaire... Then travel home for my friends birthday (should be very fun, but also costs me £50 )... Then back to uni to do more assignments and then Travel home for Christmas (£50 train fare again).
Would be ok if i had a student loan or a job...
The year is gonna go too quick, then i have to find a job and somewhere to live...
Eeeek!
I apoligise for the rant, i don't usually like ranting... it can rub off on other people.
Besides i know i have much to be grateful for...
I just struggle to be positive sometimes.
Tomorrow is another day, no use worrying, it won't do me any good! In fact more the opposite i suppose...
Sorry, rant over...
I'll try to be happy next time *strikes determined pose*
Away for a while Yup i am off to Geneva (Switzerland) for a few days ^_^
My lecturer has organised a trip to the United Nations meetings. We get to interview people... Which should be interesting... But also means i have to sound intelligent... Yikes...
Aaand i finally went to the zoo yesterday ^_^ Was amazing, saw an orangutan, she came right up to the window, so we were inches away. Also saw elephants, rhino, jaguars, red pandas, penguins, and snakes. There was also an amazing ants nest, with trails of ants walking up to a pile of oranges and back to their nest. The weather was freezing though, brrrr *shivers*
I hope everyone has good weeks, take care, have fun, and don't step on the Mome Raths ^_^ Comments (0) |

Have had a restful weekend, after beginning to plan our group presentation about China and the issues about rural to urban migration (i can hear the yawns now!)
Saw part of the fireworks display on saturday, we had to run as we were late! But they were so pretty *smiles* then we came back and munched toast. I even managed to get some reading done!
Not a very happy book though, it is called 'Wild Swans'and is a personal history about a family in China from the 1920's until the present day. I was reading the early part of the book, which covered delightful issues like foot binding, concubines, war and torture. But its not all gloom and doom. i like books like this one because it gives history a human face, so i can relate to it better than a textbook.
Sunday, made and ate a mahoosive bean chilli with Craig, then we watched the anime film 'Millenium Actress' - tis very good, although i usually prefer the art of Studio Ghibli. Was a very pretty film ^_^
Jacqui came home, she brought back an amazing flower, i hope imageshack works because i have found an image of similar flowers on google...
*uploades picture on imageshack*
That had better work - the rose was all multicoloured. Beautiful even if it was done artificially ^_^
