I just... Had a thought [don't act so surprised XD] I was thinking how I don't actually say m'dears IRL. Then I pondered what you must think I sound like when I speak. Personally I think I sound dead odd! Why is it that when we hear recordings of ourselves we sound so different? Must be the way some of the sound we hear when we talk is muffled through our skulls rather than coming from 'outside'. Anyway, that was a bit of pointless distraction. Must mean I need to get something to drink, i've been a bit too dehydrated these past couple of days. Didn't sleep too well last night. Well, I slept just fine, but not for long enough. I went to bed late, then woke up early hoping to catch the post XD
I had a good night though ^^ I went out for a meal with my workmates + bosses. We went to an Italian restaurant, twas very tasty. I think Rachel decided one of the waiters was tasty too, haha. Rachel and myself were the only ones not drinking much, but then she is only fifteen. I just, well it isn't that I don't like the odd drink, but i'm not fond of wine, plus we were EACH given a whole bottle with the meal. If I drank that I doubt that i'd be able to stand... Especially as I don't often wear heels XD [I asked for a cork for the bottle and took it with me in the end, I gave it to Paul, no sense in wasting nearly a full bottle ^^]
It was a good night, and my bosses kindly gave me a lift home. Just before I reached the door one of my neighbours, Bill, came walking past with his dog Bruce. So we stood there for a while having a chat while I made a fuss of the dog, he likes a good back scratch does Bruce ^^ but I had to make my excuses as it was just too flipping cold to be standing on the street at 11pm haha. No sooner had I got in the door when Craig rang me, saying he needed his phone charger [he always leaves things here], so I invited him over. We ended up going for a walk down to the river, we sat near the bridge and watched the bats flitting around ^^ it was good to see Craig in such a good mood, i've missed his bouncy-crazy moods. It was nice to just act daft and talk about silly things, we've both been a bit stressed recently, what with having to find a house...
It looks like things have been sorted though :D Craig got a call today from the letting agents to tell him that we can have the house we want to rent! YESSS! That really put my mind to rest, I was worried it wasn't going to happen. All the paper work must have been ok [phew!] so we can sign for it and pay the fees on the First of July. Then We can move in! It is just around the corner from Paul and Emma, and closer to the allotment than I am at the moment. We even get to decorate the place if we like, so long as we don't choose silly colours. There is even a little yard out the back, it can't be called a garden as it is just a patch of concrete, but we can plant things in pots... I'm WELL exited!
Hello again my dears! Well, I had my day off today. I was hoping for a bit of a lie in, but I was rudely awoken at approximately 7am by this at the bottom of my garden. The blue machine CRUSHES bricks. That pile is now even bigger than it was when I took the photo. Noisy things. The house actually shook yesterday morning... Not good!
Never mind, I got to see Jacqui today :D she brought some awesome choc-chip cookies that she had made. We had a good chat, made lunch, then started to bake...marshmallow cupcakes! They were yummy. She also brought some plants over so we could plant them on the allotment, although we didn't go there today as there was quite a bit of rain and the odd roll of thunder.
After she left Craig, Melly and myself watched some stupid film. 'Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus!' It was ridiculous, but it was the kind of film you watch to laugh AT it XD some of what happened was outrageously daft! "two pre-historic monsters locked in ice for millennia are now free to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting world" etc
I've started painting a little Warhammer model because Craig has been doing some painting too, and it looked like fun! There is a website you can order individual parts from, so... I'm having a go ^^ It is a good job that Craig already has plenty of paints... Because now I want to paint more!
Thanks for all the comments on my eCards and such :3 I was making one for the flowers challenge, but photoshop crashed T.T *snivel* I'll try again tomorrow.
Ug. Photobucket seems to be throwing a hissy fit at the moment. I just need to clear out some old pictures that I don't need any more and load some new avatars I have made. Oh, wait, it seems to have worked, i'll add a link at the end. Feel free to have a browse ^^
I finally admitted something to myself... I think I may be allergic to cat fur. I went around to look after Paul and Lucy's cats today, as they have gone away on holiday. We ended up staying for a while, Craig had a play on the XBOX and I had a nap. By the time we left I had itchy, watery eyes and my skin was irritated from laying on the sofa... This sucks. I've had my heart set on getting a cat in the next couple of years, once Craig and I are settled somewhere... Boo. I've always had a cat while I was growing up at home, and I've always been prone to hay-fever, or dust allergies. Perhaps i've had cat allergies and never realised? I don't know, i'm sure I sneeze more than the average person anyway XD so I don't think this is all that serious...
I have to actually GET a house first. I'm hoping to be able to leave work early tomorrow so that I can go and show my forms and I.D. to the people in the letting agency. The rain will either bring people in to the cafe, or drive them away. I'm hoping for the latter. *twiddles thumbs*
I shall distract myself from all this by reading ^^ have a read yourself if you like! [click-here]
OOOH. Kelsy -- sorry it is taking me so long to reply to your letter...
Well, I have a spare half hour before I have to be at work, so I thought i'd post something here. Sheesh I need to get back into the habit of posting here... My poor li'l neglected myO *pets it*
I hope you are well ^^ How's things?
If you notice the previous post you'll see i've finally got something sorted for my honeymoon :D booked, paid for, all we have to do now is organise how we are going to travel down there. I've always wanted to stay in a Yurt...
Talking of staying places, I finally put some of my Kenya+Uganda photos on facebook I think if you use this link you can see them even if you are not a member
Aaaand I have been to look round a house with Craig! We are planning to rent one, and we are looking at the cheaper places, but we found one we quite like ^^ it seriously needs some work doing to it though, as in re-plastering a couple of the walls, repainting, and fixing the roof! The landlord will mend the roof [and I don't think we'll move in until that is sorted] but we have offered to do the decorating ourselves ^^ hopefully that way the price will stay down, and he may even accept our cheeky offer of 450 per month rather than 495. There is another flat we want to look at, but I don't have time until next week... Exciting times!
Right, i'd best drink my tea and go get dressed XD
[EDIT] Have any of you not been able to sign in to theO recently? I couldn't last night, or this morning...
Heya ^^ I'm beginning to think that perhaps it is a good thing that I don't have my laptop back from Paul yet. See, I am borrowing my house-mate's laptop, I have a day off tomorrow, and it is 1.30 AM... Silly me. Still, I did try to do some job hunting. My Mum said she had heard about something that may interest me, so i'll give her a call tomorrow.
See, recently I've started to feel less stressed about work, I've actually enjoyed myself there, even when it is busy and stressful. I think the trip home has done me good. My boss seems to appreciate me more too. But it is still mainly a part time job and I am going to have to find something different. The thing is, soon after I stopped fretting and getting upset about it, things started to take a turn for the better. So, here's hoping i'm on the up, eh? Perhaps I just need to learn to quit worrying... But i've had a fair bit of practice at being a worrier... Still, a habit can be hard to give up, but that doesn't make it impossible!
I got paid today for the last five months of baking i've done :D that was a good feeling. With the baking I get paid per cake/batch of scones rather than for the time I work [silly system indeed] so it can end up with me earning less than I would if I was just working normally. Feh. Still, it averages out at £90 per month for baking, so it all helps. I've been asking for the money for a month or so now, so it is great to finally have it. Off to the bank I go tomorrow!
My boss mentioned she was thinking of buying a cake machine... I'm not sure I like that idea. Seriously, first they joke that they don't need to bother buying a new dishwasher because they have me to wash up, then they think of replacing my skills with some strange contraption! Hmmm. If that happens i'll feel like i've lost my role, but perhaps it is time for me to move on anyway.
I'm sorry if I get too negative here sometimes, I just end up venting or rambling on, but I don't want to wind people up by going on about things that, really, aren't all that bad. I do appreciate all of your comments and kindness. I don't know what i'd do without you guys *hugs* seriously, I don't feel like an Otaku in the sense of being anime obsessed [although I do like some of it] but I love you lot!
Hello there! I hope this new year is going smoothly for you, whatever you are up to. We have had temperatures below freezing all this past week, so the snow that fell on Tuesday last week hasn't had the opportunity to melt until today. The canal is slowly thawing now, so I am sure the ducks will be glad, poor things.
On Sunday Craig and I were invited to share a meal with a family from our Church, it was good to get to know them a little better, they seem very supportive and friendly and they joined the church shortly after we did. We ended up spending most of the afternoon with their little grand-daughter, Caitlin, as she was so insistent that we play with her rather than talk to her grand-parents. So, I read story books, gave piggy-back rides, and then played 'sleep over' - which involved pretending to sleep while Caitlin acted as Mum and told us to get out of bed. Then shortly after making sure we'd tidied the blanket, she'd announce that it was night time and we should get back into bed! Haha.
Later in the afternoon Caitlin decided I was a polar bear, as I had a white, fluffy hoodie on. I was trying to have a conversation with her family and Craig at the time, so I apologised for not telling her a story at that moment because Polar Bears can't read. She replied that she was going to catch a fish to eat instead, but only if Craig cooked it, as she wouldn't eat it raw! Bless her. [QUESTION] What is the strangest thing you have ever used as a bookmark?
Hello everyone! I hope you had a fantastic new year, did any of you do anything special to celebrate? New year was never really anything special to me, but this year was perfect.
It was a really pretty night here, very calm and clear, with a hint of frost in the air. I stood with Craig on a bridge over the river and watched fire works light up different parts of the city. Well, we couldn't see all that many but it was enough to add some sparkle. A crowd of party-goers were happily shaking hands and offering out Champagne while a family were sending sky lanterns floating up into the air, I was impressed at how far they flew [I really want to try that myself sometime!]
But the best part of the night was the news that I mentioned in my last post...
Just before we were planning to leave my house to go on a walk Craig told me to close my eyes, then he placed a blue feather in my hands. Now, I don't know how many of you have played the Harvest Moon games, but if you have then you know what it means!
Craig asked me to marry him!
I am a very happy Anna-person ^^
Hello dear things, I hope you are doing well and that your Christmas plans are going smoothly. It is the shortest day of the year today [well, it is here at any rate], no wonder it is so cold! The canal froze over again, but there has been barely any snow. Pah. Ah well, tomorrow each day gets a fraction longer, and before you know it, it is Pancake Day! I'd miss the seasons if I lived elsewhere, I like the change.
I'm going home tomorrow though, I'm not organised yet, I prefer to leave things to the last minute. Which is good, as last minute packing always seems to be a regular occurence when I travel home. I don't need to take much, so it won't be a problem ^^ I'm getting excited now *skips around* even the thought of an eight hour journey isn't putting off my anticipation of visiting my family. I hope the roads aren't too frosty...
I found myself wishing to be a student again on Sunday, Craig and myself were in Liverpool waiting to watch Avatar, and we found a fantastic cafe/tea shop named Brew ^^ They have bundles of speciality tea there, some of which I have read about on Sherr's tea review blog, yet never had the chance to try. So, we sat down on a comfy sofa, browsed through the books available to read, drank 'Christmas Tea' and decided that we could both happily spend far too much time in that place if given half a chance *smiles* It would be a perfect place to relax and catch up on some study reading if I were still at uni. Although saying that, being a student is expensive, so I most likely wouldn't have the funds to spend on fancy teas...
Oh, on that note, has anyone watched Avatar yet? I was fortunate to watch it in all its 3D glory on Sunday *was stunned* I loved it! My friend described it as a mix of themes from Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke, and I think she had a fair point. To be honest I got a bit too into the story, I was practically shouting at the screen at some points, and getting all teary-eyed at others. <333 Superb film. Too pretty. I want to take my sister to see it. If you get the opportunity to see Avatar you should go! I'd advise you not to watch too many trailers though, some of them contain spoilers. I hate spoilers! ACK!
*hugs* Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, filled with good food, friends, and time for peace. I may have time for a little[ lurking on theO before I get back next week, but i'm not sure. Take care everyone, each of you is a blessing, thank you for your friendship over this past year, and for some of you, for your friendship for the past three years!
