A Night in Paris
Titled because our Prom theme this year was “Moonlight in Paris” or something like that. They even had little Eiffel-tower lamps on all the tables. And the gift was an Eiffel tower figurine with a little plate with “Skyline Prom 2009” embossed on it.

So, Thursday… all I remember, I think, was that I went over to Rae’s house (unless this was Wednesday and I have my facts mixed up, but I think it was Thursday). She bugged T to put a movie in, and we watched Atlantis for what to me was the first time in for-EVER. So many things I didn’t notice before in that. Like how Milo and Kita technically only knew each other for less than a day. Quickest Disney hook-up ever next to maybe Sleeping Beauty.

Friday, we watched .Hack//ROOTS in anime club, to which hardly anyone showed up, and Caruso read our voice writing assignments aloud. Mine was overly obvious – because I mentioned my glasses, my sketchbook, and I pretty much facepalmed when he started reading mine. And then later I finished chapter two of A Tale of Two Doctors for Rae, so Goku’s back. After that, we had another movie night at Rae’s house – this time watching Beauty and the Beast because they had a preview for the special edition when we watched Atlantis on Thursday. Yet again, caught things I wouldn’t have as a kid – like how Gaston’s a partial suck-up, at least around Belle. (“Don’t talk about my father that way!” Immediately after laughing at him earlier, to Lefou: “Yeah, don’t talk about her father that way!”) And that lasted so long that I ended up sleeping over at Rae’s. And I started and finished chapter 3 of A Tale of Two Doctors that night after the movie and in the morning after getting up. But apparently it’s not enough, because much as Kana denies it’s Rae, SOMEONE kidnapped two others Sunday after church… two that appear in these posts a lot more often than Goku does normally. But I’ll cover that later.

Saturday after rushing home from Rae’s house to take a shower, Mom drove me over to Missy’s place, and we went to the mall so she could get her hair done for prom (she did ours at the house later while her friend Jess was in charge of makeup), we drove back and got ready, ate dinner, and Kyarri’s mom picked the three of us (Kyarri, Kana and I) up for prom – Missy and Jess drove there, I believe.

As for Prom itself… well, I can’t say how the dancing was – we didn’t dance. The school made a wonderful mistake of booking our prom at the Arizona Historical Society Museum, and the museum was open for students to explore. And explore we did. Pictures up the yin-yang were taken (but all on Kyarri’s camera because I was too scared of mine getting stolen to bring it), and new inside jokes were born. They actually had FOOD at this prom, whereas last year there was just water. This year, lemonade, mini-cheesecake bites, and miniature key lime pies and brownies. I didn’t try anything but the key lime pie and the lemonade, but meh. The lemonade tasted weird… I sure hope it wasn’t spiked.

Goku: it wasn’t. Tail and I drank plenty of that stuff and we weren’t any more drunk off of that than we were off the food.

CCR: the fact that you refer to you and Tail as if you two had gone as a couple scares me…

Tail: gosh no! Goku and I are just close feasting buddies! ^^

Goku: exactly!

CCR: feasting buddies who attempt to sabotage proms…

Goku: sabotage?!

CCR: every time that I was alone with Ren and/or Ed for even a smidgeon of a second while Kyarri and Kana were in the bathroom or something, you tried to pull something. -////-

Goku: I wasn’t sabotaging, seriously – I was trying to get one of the guys to make a move.

CCR: that would count as sabotage, would it not?

Goku: no. Sabotage would be if I were trying to do the opposite. I was meddling! There’s a difference!

Zelgadiss: all reasons listed above are why I’m glad I stayed at home.

CCR: oh, it wasn’t that bad. Goku and Tail were just being idiots is all.

So today, I almost missed church. Andrew knocked on the door five minutes before 8, and I threw on my prom dress with shawl and ran out the door. Mom and my brother couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed. I ended up spending Sacrament meeting in the foyer, we were so late. But ah well – my soul was still fed, that’s what matters. I went home with Rae’s family along with Kana and her siblings, where Shana inquired what Ren and Ed thought of how I looked (give her a break, she’s eleven). And I don’t know if Kana said this to get Shana off my case, but apparently the latter two were kidnapped – not by Rae, but by someone who had apparently gotten Kana to swear secrecy – she kept saying that telling me would “compromise their location.”

Fai: so that’s why they didn’t come home with you from church…

CCR: you just figured that out?

Fai: was too busy picking on Kuro-rin over the phone when you first got back.

Tail: still, even I noticed something was up when she got back… she went and slept until four in the afternoon.

CCR: that was likely because I was out until midnight the night before and I had to go to church at 8.

Tail: ohhhh… But Mara’s gotten a lot less sleep before and has still been able to tell us which way the Yellow Brick Road went. Abee had to carry her ‘cause she was too tired to walk, but she still stayed somewhat awake…

CCR: but see Tail, there’s a difference: I’m not Mara. Mara’s the heroine of a Korean manhwa (of which you are a part) parodying The Wizard of Oz. In our reality, people need sleep.

Tail: then you guys must get utterly exhausted at you get older. Your mom sleeps whenever she gets the chance.

CCR: can you blame her? She works twelve-hour days - … that is THE stupidest commercial ever. Who would keep nachos in a sphere beneath their shirt, thus making them look pregnant?

Goku: hey, other than the pregnant thing that’s a good idea. Endless nachos… *drools*

Tail: ooh, that does. But how would we store them other than by those means?

Goku: we hail from the realm of manga, manhwa, and anime! We have never-ending pockets and bags!

Tail: oh yeah, huh…

CCR: ANYWAY, now I need to figure out a) if Kana really meant they were kidnapped, b) if they are how to get them back.

Goku: why get them back? I call free reign on his private milk and peach stash while Ren’s gone!

CCR: *facepalm* this is gonna be heck. Rae, if you have them, give them back please. I’ll try to update ATotD on a timely basis from now on, just give them back!

Why Doesn't Anyone Like Pickles Anymore?
Seriously. They’re good. D:

Anyway, I pretty much had a free day today – ‘cause I talked Mom into calling me out of school, and also the reason for that: juniors and their ACTs (for some reason our school had them take it part of today and the sophomores and seniors only had to be at school for 5th and 6th hour – both of which I knew we didn’t have much of anything going on, at most an intense rehearsal in 6th hour. And honestly, my voice still isn’t quite where it should be yet, or at least my throat isn’t, so I needed a bit of a rest I figured). And I got something done at the same time – I got a jacket to go with my prom dress so I’m not as exposed, and… erm… yeah, about the FAFSA…

Ren: your mom just filled out the whole thing, didn’t she?

CCR: it’s not like I would’ve known what to put down half of the time anyway~ but yeah. At least it’s done though, and I have my scholarship acceptance form plus my student info form for CAC in and envelope and ready to go! >D college, here I come! … Wait, Ren, weren’t you sick earlier?

Ren: not anymore. Besides, with the craziness you put us through half the time, I can’t afford to be sick for longer than a day.

CCR: true… but hey, remember that time you got the flu? You were out for almost a week! Heck, what you caught from me almost lasted a week on me! How did you…?

Ren: pardon me being cliché, but that would be an “ancient Chinese secret.”

CCR: … Jun just told you to say that if I asked, didn’t she?

Ren: pretty much.

CCR: well, I pretty much covered the events of today so far… what to write, what to write… hmm…

Tail (Dorothy of Oz): CCR CCR CCR!

CCR: *sigh* what now?

Tail: it’s terrible! Horrible!

CCR: what?

Tail: we’re out of ham!

CCR: …. Ham? You mean that Easter ham from over a week ago?

Tail: T^T *nods woefully*

CCR: if you’re as picky as you were at that one town in volume 1, how could you stand leftovers that are over a week old?

Tail: when it comes to ham, food is food.

CCR: where have I heard this before…? Rae, you missed one on your ransom note.

Tail: hey!

CCR: by the way, why ARE you still here? You’d think Mara would’ve come looking for you about now… (heck, how you got here from Oz is a question yet to be answered). *lightbulbs* oh yeah! I forgot to mention that since as it is my sketchbook at current is being taken over by Randomosity comics and the current finale project therefore, I think I might also start working on a manga version of one of my old mini-fic arcs, and one of my favorites at that: The Budokai Wars.

Ren: the Budokai Wars? Those were back in ’06, weren’t they?

CCR: I know. I was reading my ’06 archives the other day and came across the earlier chapters. It was an interesting fic, having the characters go against each other in a fighting game.

Ren: but that twist you threw in at the end! -_____- I’m still leery of Itachi on that, and he isn’t even around here anymore!

CCR: what twist? The one with – oh, you mean Jun.

Though on second thought… Ren does bring up a good point. Most people here wouldn’t even remember the Budokai Wars, so I might just rewrite it in a different format and upload it to YEAH TOAST! For now, kinda how Refi (tiggerola) reposts her best older posts from myO into her Castle world. So those who are interested may want to keep track of my updates on that World.

Well, I think that’s it for today – sorry for the random cameo thrown in there, but meh. Saiyuki Goku’s been kidnapped by Rae until I update the fanfic she requested after The Deal, and DB Goku hasn’t appeared in my fanfics in forever – so Tail had to be pulled in. Until next time, ja ne~!

Recovery: Almost Complete
My singing’s still a tad shaky on higher notes, but maybe it was because I was half-doing it. Or the effects of those pickles Rae and I ate were only temporary.

But yeah, other than that I have my voice back though. Seriously, I hope I didn’t develop vocal nodes from the entirety of the incident… that would suck.

The school day went okay-ish. In Econ I spent the class period trying to write the notes down from the overhead faster than Mr. Johnson could finish a topic and move it up on me, we had another student-lesson in Seminary, this time on James chapter 3 (and I’m closer to being in the 3-minute club! I think… I hope). Choir both 3rd and 6th hour I had to just mouth the words to the songs we were rehearsing (it. was. TORTURE. And tori-sensei, as we’ll now call her because of Kyarri’s nickname for the student teacher, seemed less than enthusiastic filling in for me on my solo part. I’m sorry, honest~ if anyone’s to blame for my lack of voice it’s my brother for getting me sick in the first place~ T^T ). In French… the dialogue was FRIDAY. So I think I pretty much flunked that. And Jiao cut his hair! D: so now he’s only our France in personality. And our next big French project is doing a report or powerpoint on a region or cultural/historical aspect, just something that has to do with French culture, en Francais. And since I couldn’t get into anything else that was listed (the catacombs would’ve been interesting, but she limited to about two to three people per topic – catacombs were the most popular in that case, so yeah…), I’m covering the region from which my French ancestry (which may be more German, considering) stemmed – Alsace-Lorraine. I look up more info on it, and it turns out it was part of the Holy Roman Empire at one time.

To an ordinary person, this would seem of little consequence. Heck, most people outside an AP world history class or isn’t majoring in world history at a university in this country wouldn’t know what the HRE was. But then there are the weird people: Hetalia fans like myself. Now think about this: as it is I’m ¼ English, ¼ French (those two in one gene pool makes me a bi-standard in and of itself, just from the historical bad blood between the two), and the other half save for the 1/16 Cherokee Indian is German and Italian – from what my mom says, North Italian. Moral of the story, my random phrase of the day - “Hetalia: Making genealogy that much more interesting (if not stranger at least)”

Ren: you do realize out of your readers, Rae and Maki are the only ones likely to read this who would even have the slightest idea what you’re talking about…

CCR: I know, but it’s something interesting that occurred in my day other than everything turning out awry.

Lunch was the usual randomness. What more is there to say?

And English… I just worked on the vocab packet we got Friday the entire time (since I wasn’t at school on Friday, that is) and turned in my essay. Easiest class period of the day.

Well, that’s all folks! Unless you want me to elaborate on some of the stuff that went on at Rae’s house… which wasn’t much except for the mindless consumption of pickles, a pasta dinner and Shana making me “guess that Poke’mon” from pictures she took very pixilated excerpts from and pasted on Paint – many of them my own drawings. Until next time, ja ne~

Better Yet?
I wish. Well, the fever’s gone at least… let’s see how long it’ll stay that way! The last three days I’ve had to sit at home and do just about nothing (unless reading Hetalia counts as doing anything productive – that reminds me, Kyarri, did you get my e-mail?). Ah well, I don’t think my brother was sick for only a day or so less than this, so I guess my immune system’s not as strong as I thought or this is one chauvinist bug. And on top of that, two lovely new symptoms have popped up, one of which is gonna kill me tomorrow if I go to school.

Ed: how will having lost your voice kill you?

CCR: I’ve got that French dialogue tomorrow for starters, second, I’m one of the Seminary class presidents so I probably will have to start class when I get back, and third, I’m in choir. All of which mean my voice is an essential part of my school day – I cannot get by without it.

Symptom # 2, which Mom swears up and down is because we’re too cheap to have Kleenex and thus I’ve been using toilet paper to catch what my nose decides to protrude in this time of sickness… I’ve got this scab/sore/thing around both my nostrils and on that little strip between my nose and my upper lip. See, that I can deal with to an extent. I just wish the congestion could stop so I can breathe through my nose instead of through my mouth all the time! For all I know my vocal cords might be chapped too, and when that heals up – will I even have a voice left?

Ren: -_-; and now you’re just overreacting.

CCR: yeah, I guess I am a little…

Ren: a little?

CCR: okay, make that a lot.

But yeah, just thought I’d check in, confirm to you guys that I’m alive and have not been strangled by the snot monster that is taking refuge in my nose and drooling all over the place. Since it’s likely I’ll be well enough to go back to school tomorrow (aside from, you know, the loss of voice – which I hope also is cured soon), I probably ought to go to bed now since even though it’s only 6:30 pm over here, I’m so tired it’s not even funny. But thank you all for your comments on the last post. Until next time~

Sick as a Dog and Absolutely Hating It.
The last two days I’ve been suffering congestion, sore throat on and off, and now I have a low-grade fever and am wrapped up in blankets and my newly obtained Class of 2009 hoodie (which is surprisingly comfy, by the way – Hooray for Balfour Graduation Goods!)… and my shoulders feel like I’ve been doing heavy lifting for weeks on end without sufficient rest.

Ren: might that be your backpack?

CCR: hey, it’s lighter than it’s been in the past! … Kinda.

Ren: exactly. And if you’re so sick, why aren’t you asleep?

CCR: because I haven’t posted in days, that’s why.

Ren: they’ll understand, you know…

CCR: I know, but as it is if I can at all move tomorrow I might still try to go to school, fever or not. Mom’ll be working, she can’t stop me.

Ren: okay, now you’re just speaking crazy talk!

CCR: no, I’m not. It’s Thursday – Kyarri might be there to rehearse the flute part in I am the River with us, and Mrs. Parrot never assigned alternates for soloists in the event of either Sam or I being absent.

Ren: it won’t be the end of the world – you were absent for a rehearsal of Marchin’ On Up on the same day that your alternate was and they still managed!

CCR: they had a sub that day too.

So, the week in a nutshell…

Monday, we watched more of Dead Poets’ Society in English – and now that we’ve finished it, I’ve got a reflective essay planning the next five years of my life due Monday. If I really am catching what my brother just got over (he had the same pre-symptoms as me before the fever hit), I’ll be out until Sunday morning, maybe not even then will I be better. On top of that… Tom’s coming soon. If he comes while I’m sick – ARGH! That’ll be freakin’ annoying! (In case you don’t know who Tom is, look at it as though it were a set of initials: t.o.m. Tom is also known as “Mother Nature’s –“)

Ren: TMI! T FREAKIN’ M I! (too much info)

CCR: what?

Ed: *unplugs his ears momentarily* is she done yet?

CCR: *sigh* yeah, I’m done talking about it.

ANYWAY, the rest of the week so far… gah, I’m starting to see Thoreau’s point. I hardly remember what happened two days ago except for key events and my ailment of the past two days. But how to “suck the marrow out of life…” hmm…

Ren: I think this post is done for now. You’re sick, so you shouldn’t have even posted in the first place.

CCR: okay, fine… until next time, ja ne~ *falls asleep on bed, hoping she doesn’t feel like crap again in the morning*

EDIT: WAIT! I do remember something! Today we were drawing the backgrounds and props and such for our RP day in French next Monday. I drew a hyena! =D and it actually turned out pretty cute, too. Hopefully Sereno will permit us to take home the stuff we worked on, as Kassi put it. Speaking of which… gah! I HAVE to go to school tomorrow! They might color my poor hyena and mutilate the thing!

Ren: *sigh* here we go again… CCR, relax! So long as Kassi isn’t sick too, she’ll supervise the coloring, if she doesn’t do it herself.

CCR: I sure hope so…

Of Pageants, Show Choirs, and Alchemists
You know that choir that I said was coming in on Thursday from Utah…?

Turns out they were a show choir – they choreograph their performances, in other words. And boy did they put on a show! They went and performed songs from various musicals, including our choir’s final concert finale (For Good from Wicked), and even a few songs from Les Miserables and Enchanted (considering her negative opinions regarding the musical, I wonder how Mme. S reacted to them singing Les Mis). And now I am really glad Dodie went to Red Mountain – they sang Sieze the Day from The Newsies. She’d be going super-hyper-mode and be singing along if she was there…. But then Rae would’ve done the same thing if she was there during the 5th hour performance, which was when they sang Les Mis.

Ren: there are plenty of other things for you to post about over the past week – why did you choose that as first and foremost?

CCR: because I want to hurry up; and buzz through this – there’s a part of the post that’s just itching to be written right now!

So anyway, we also went and saw the Easter Pageant on Friday, I didn’t stand a chance with this month’s Fast Sunday being on Easter, and Sweet Tarts’ Gummy Sour Bunnies are phail. Yet I bought two bags of the stuff… why oh why? Oh, and the anime fest was awesome too! =D I got a new manga (or rather manhwa) there, titled Dorothy of Oz. Great humor, interesting twist on the Wizard of Oz universe, and cute artwork that somehow reminded me of Disgaea (don’t ask me how – it was mostly the author’s self-portrait character that sparked the resemblance). But be warned for any guys who decide to read it: Tail (the lion-chimera who’s anything but a coward), feminine as he looks, appears to in fact be a male.

Now… For what I feel so inclined to write about…

I’ve finally gotten around to watching the FMA series two premiere (through FUNi so I’m legally in the clear). So far, it is awesome! So much so that I almost wish I could write commentary on it as the episode runs… but meh, I’ll go with this little thing for now. By the way, Edo-kun I must say you’re as awesome as always.

Ed: ^^ of course, that’s because I trump Tao-baka in just about everything.

Ren: ^+ say that again shrimp?!

Ed: *anger mark* WHO’REYOUCALLINGATINYMINUSCULECELLSIZESHRIMPFLEATICKTHING?!?!?!?

CCR: *fryingpans Ed again* phew. I gotta stop doing that. Wonder if Liet or Veneziano have any “secret weapons” I could use instead…

Ren: other than pasta and failure to stand up for oneself?

CCR: answer me this: who would WANT to stand up to Russia? Aside from, you know, America, but that was what the Cold War was basically all about. Anyway, I just named off those two because I’ve been placed as the Liet in our group/partial Veneziano. Just how Rae is Russia and also splits the part of Romano with Kana because of their mutual love for tomatoes (unless Kana wants to be Spain, but that might be kinda creepy… *shudder*)

Anyway, back to watching the episode! (I’ve only seen a few minutes of it so far because of buffering*

… Antiestablishment movement? Did FUNi translate that wrong? (Thankfully they have a subbed version of the episode available. So to boycott Vic… >D sub it is!)

Ed: you’d have to read more of the manga – it must be mentioned past volume 14, considering that’s where you left off.

Ren: keep in mind though, this seems more like a pre-series filler. They won’t get into Lior until ep. 2 or 3, I’ll bet. Keeping closer to the manga my eye.

CCR: “my eye?” That’s a French expression of disbelief, equivalent to “my foot” or “my a**” in English… how did you know that?

Ren: *shrug* I felt like saying something different – it’s mere coincidence.

CCR: ah well. *continues watching* Ne, Edo-kun…

Ed: what?

CCR: I’m not gonna question the “extra pounds” you seemed to have gained in this series, since I know it’s merely an adaptation to Arakawa’s style even closer than it was before, but your hair isn’t quite as bright a yellow as before either…

Ed: probably another adaptation.

CCR: yeah, I guess you’re right. Gah, Hughes is awesome! Too bad he’ll be killed off sooner in this season, probably, to keep in line with the manga…

Ed: why did you have to bring that up….?

CCR: oh… ack, I’m sorry Edo-kun! *hugs Ed*

Ed: > //// > you know all that’s gonna do is get Ren mad, right?

Ren: with all the attention you’re getting, I almost wish she’d have read about my revival after watching this. At least then the attention would be drawn away from you.

Ed: you’re just jealous that she likes me better.

Ren: -///- lies.

CCR: *skims through post* gack, this is getting kinda long… guess I should continue this another time (or not at all if you prefer.) Until next time, ja ne! *to Ed and Ren* break it up guys, or I’ll make sure Dad doesn’t leave any leftovers for you and you’ll have to scrounge up an Easter feat yourself!

Goku: what?! That’s cruel and unusual punishment~ You’ve been associating too much with Sanzo!

CCR: blame Kyarri for that one.

Stop in the Name of American Squeamishness
Today, I bring you a random quote from The Simpsons Movie. Because I happened to use that quote in my English essay…

Which I think passed with flying colors! ^^ he read it right there in class – not out loud, thankfully. And I was panicking that he would hand it back to me because he had just introduced the essay prompt to the class (we had a sub who did it Friday, which was why I was in such a rush to get it done over the weekend because our instructions weren’t clear). But he didn’t – so I guess I’m in the clear.

But in other news… DANG IT SJ, HURRY THE FLIP UP WITH GETTING THE SHAMAN KING VOLUMES OUT HERE IN THE US!!! I’m so tempted to read from where I am online so I can catch up and read the actual ending to the series (it just came out this month)…. But I mustn’t. Keeping the Lord’s law includes keeping the law of the land – that’s why I intend to buy those Lucky Star DVDs the minute I find them (since it was licensed right after I started watching it), that’s why I bought that Haruhi DVD and still need to buy the Ouran ones too – and why I intend to buy the Soul Eater DVDs when and if they come out. That’s how I work. I’m afraid that if I start reading the manga online… I might forget to buy the books every two months when they come out. As it is with anime DVDs as expensive as they are, there’s a dang good reason I hardly ever watch fansubs anymore without good reason. And Hetalia… somehow I doubt it will ever come to the US, but if it does, same basic principle. But then the spoilers – and almost ALL of my dA friends within the ManKin fandom have read the ending already except probably the NSers because most of them have fallen out of the fandom and probably don’t know about it! All I know so far is “Hao gets happy ending” but then “It’s not fair! He deserved to see his mom again!” As far as the US releases are, we’re not even in Mappa Douji yet, so I know very little about his relationship with Asa no Ha in the first place! So frustrating… *continues muttering random jibberish in midst of her moral conflict and curls up into fetal position*

Ren: since she’s freaking out here, *points to CCR* I’ll take over.

She found out that he 6th hour choir isn’t performing with that guest choir coming in from Utah because as it is they have enough material for TWO different concerts. She already has this week’s Randomosity finished and hopes to get it up sometime before her dad gets home in the event that he might not permit her to scan it Thursday or Friday due to his presence in the home. She made a tye-dye shirt in mutual tonight with the rest of the girls, and uploaded a new fan art. The Prom Dress Rental has been officially called off and they’re going to try to attempt to sell them instead – if that doesn’t work, they go to Goodwill. Speaking of Goodwill, she finally has her wig and skirt for her Tamao cosplay, even if the skirt is a tad longer than the Kokkuri Angel outfit dictates, but she figures it gives the costume a flair that more suits Tamao’s character in the first place, so hemming will not be in order. The wig just needs some hair gel in the back and it should be ready.

CCR: the way you say it all, it sounds so… bland.

Ren: it’s more interesting than your moral conflicts over what you believe is right or wrong pertaining to scanlations and the like.

CCR: true, but you could at the very least have put some degree of voice in typing that.

Ren: but keep in mind, English is not my mother tongue.

CCR: I’m pretty sure the Six Traits of Writing are universal to any language, Ren.

Ren: the same could be said about run-ons and yet you ragged on me for being a grammar Nazi on one of my secondary languages when I corrected you on a run-on!

CCR: that’s not the point!

Ed: whatever, my turn now.

By the way, CCR, you do recall starting Thursday the new FMA series starts streaming on FUNimation.com, correct?

CCR: you bet I remember! *total change in subject* So I wonder if they’ll offer it just dubbed, or if they’ll have a sub or dub option… maybe they’ll even have the option of watching it raw – that would be -

Ren: can I duck tape her mouth?

Ed: I wouldn’t. And just why are you two bickering so much of late anyway?

Ren: ask her. Probably has to do with one little aspect of some of the spoilers, though…

Ed: Visionz?

Ren: *nods* the colored versions were leaked recently, and it just opened up that can of worms again like no tomorrow.

Goku: maybe you should have her sit down and re-watch the anime – after all, doesn’t it follow a different plot and thus the Visionz thing is of little or no effect?

Ren: like we’d have time to do that. She’s got papers to fill out before the end of this month so she can get into college – there’s barely even any time to post here.

CCR: actually, that sounds like a good idea. I’ve gotta unwind a bit anyway – I’ll just bring my portable DVD player with me to school and watch it in the hallway and during lunch.

Ed: … see, no excuse Ren.

Ren: *face palm* fine, that’s your choice if you choose to take that path.

CCR: yay! =D

Anyway, apologies for… well, the majority of this post. Just yeah… I looked in my dA inbox recently and saw a pic from one of my friends/watchers there who’s read the ending already. Some of the comment exchanges between her and others who read it were spoiler-ish and got that temptation stirred up in me again. But either way, the main bulk of what I was gonna discuss today did get covered, can’t argue with that. Until next time, ja ne!

And We're Back to School Again
Every weekend it’s like that – why? I dunno.

Ren: you should be in bed right now.

CCR: I know, I know, but I gotta let my laptop charge~ unlike my phone I can’t just charge it overnight!

Ren: well you’d have gotten this post at least out of the way had you not gotten caught up in reading Hetalia and working on that abysmal OC-fic.

CCR: what? I just had a lot of ideas for the OC-fic.

Anyway, moving on! Today had its moments – first there was the Conference overview in Seminary…

Goku (note to my new subs who didn’t know this already: pretty much always, unless otherwise referenced or stated, the Goku that shows up in my posts is from Saiyuki) : yeah, no fair by the way! You guys got a whole bunch of grapes I hear!

CCR: that was only three people per class period that participated in the grape-stuffing competition – most of those grapes were upchucked because they couldn’t hold any more of those things in there! I’ll bet even you wouldn’t ever want to see another grape for a very long time after that. Which is why I didn’t volunteer myself.

Second, in French… I brought my Victor Hugo collection to school to read during our 10-minute reading interval if I got artist’s block. I took it out at the beginning of class since that’s the hour that the reading interval was – Jiao (a.k.a. the official France of our group because he’s… thankfully not as perverted, but still – if you’ve read Hetalia and knew Jiao, you’d get my drift) showed it to Sereno because of its pretty hardcover and gold-leafed pages and everything… I had it on my desk, someone asked if it was a Bible. Of course, everyone in the class knowing I’m LDS, Sereno jokes, “No, it’s not the Bible – it’s the Book of Mormon!” *rolls eyes* the jokes that come up because of my religion. But yeah, I cleared it up that it was just a fancy collection of French literature.

Choirs – 3rd hour was just a run-through/attempt at energy-building on Thanks A Lot, but No Thanks. In 6th hour… solo auditions. And I GOT THE FEMALE PART! But then this is the second solo I’ve gotten in a row… Mrs. Parrot made the decision because she’s directing the piece in which the solo is performed (I Am the River), but what if Mr. Jeff objects?

Ren: you’re still freaking out over that? I doubt he’d override a student-teacher’s decision unless he truly believed it was a bad one.

CCR: that’s the thing – what if he views a two-in-a-row solo as a bad decision? But then more importantly, even if he does accept it… what if this has come at the cost of the choir’s respect for me? What if I crushed someone’s dreams with my obtaining the solo?

Ren: what if you’re thinking about this too much?! The best singer for the part gets the solo, that’s how it works, does it not?

CCR: but at the expense of another…?

Ren: *face palm* I can see now why you used to like Yoh – the two of you are far too alike.

CCR: wha?

English – turns out WE HAD SKIPPED A PART OF THE MOVIE! But I already wrote my essay, and the part we watched today didn’t help me all that significantly with the subject matter, so I think I should be good. And in Econ we just worked on the vocab and questions for chapter 12 – nothing special there.

Well, it is getting rather late. Until next time, ja ne!

Of Ice and Literature
My birthday party in a nutshell. XD;

Well… kind of. Allow me to elaborate.

My grandparents arrived during the last talk of the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference, and shortly after the girls started to arrive. While I wasn’t really expecting gifts, I got a lot more than I ever deserved: assurance that I’ve still got friends that care about me, both IRL and on here. Oh, and there were a few things that I got too. My grandparents gave me $50 for my birthday, and an extra $25 for Easter; I got a giant posterboard card from Rae and the rest of her family, as well as three books (a combined edition of both of Victor Hugo’s novels, and a “complete guide to Japan” – good thing I didn’t buy Les Miserables, huh?)… and a really sweet normal-sized card signed by them all that I didn’t find until this afternoon. Thanks guys, really. ^^ and from Kyarri, a sketchpad and colored pencils, and a Japanese-English dictionary from Kana. Andrew arrived with his girlfriend, my brother with his friend, and we had come cake and ice cream and went to Cici’s.

Goku: all-you-can-eat pizza… that was the best part.

Ren: you know, until I met you I thought monkeys ate bananas.

Goku: … you haven’t been hanging around Gojyo at all, have you?

Ren: why would I associate with that lecher?

Goku: he’s used the same thing on me before.

CCR: *sigh* moving on…

Well, we had some extra time after eating, so the girls and I went and walked to the dollar store on the same street – crazy times, crazy times. And randomness. Mom called us up, we piled in the car again and went to the rink. At the rink… well, as you can see from this week’s Randomosity, there were varied results. Mom looked like she was on the brink of a comeback to her career (but of course, that’s about as likely to happen as me going to Japan and staying longer than the allotted 2 weeks of the tour), poor Shana was terrified (but we did eventually get her off the wall), and Kana… nearly froze. I’m sorry guys – next time we’ll pick something better, promise. But overall I think we still had a good time… right?

Ed: at least it wasn’t like that drawing Shana gave you… *shudder*

CCR: do you honestly think that would happen? Well, aside from the fact that it’s physically impossible on numerous levels…

Ren: -////- why. The. FLIP did you have to mention that?! At least Rae’s wasn’t as… as… insane! Geh!

CCR: -A- good evening to you too, Lord Grumpy Butt.

Ren: -_-; “Lord Grumpy Butt?”

CCR: *shrug*

Today, we watched the last two sessions of Conference, and I wrote my essay and finished this week’s Randomosity comic and got that up. Been kinda hanging and watching TV with Mom since then – hence our current family activity at the moment (well, family as in me, mom and my bro): Madagascar.

Ren: the first movie you watch in your adult life and it’s a kids’ movie.

CCR: so?

Ren: earlier you were freaking out because of the whole “turning 18” concept. Now you’re just – you’re you again.

CCR: yeah. I figure I can still be young at heart – besides, you’re only as old as you feel. And Mom wants ramen, so unless she makes some, I guess it’s my treat. Until next time, ja ne!

THANK YOU!
Just a random (and semi-loud, considering the caps) shout-out to certain people. Seriously, I really appreciated the gifts (and the card).

In other news, since I didn't post last night...

Dad took me to Borders (but that meant I didn't get to getting my cosplay stuff with my mom, but meh, that'll come sometime over the coming week... it has to, that's the last week we can do it). We went thinking I was gonna get Les Miserables, but the only version they had there was unabridged (or very lightly abridged - the book was almost 1200 pages). I would've had to start from the beginning! And, much as I would LOVE to read an unabridged copy of Les Miserables or The Count of Monte Cristo (some here might know the latter by its anime counterpart, Gankutsuou), unless I spent a good chunk of the summer reading it, I don't know if I'd ever find the time to finish it -- as it is the book Kana got me last Christmas has for some part been sitting on a shelf except when I make time to sit down and read it. So we looked around the store, I at first avoided the manga aisle at all costs (and I saw my old Biology teacher. ^^), but then towards the end Dad was rushing me, so I couldn't resist... and it was there.

Shaman King volume 21.

And Ren's ALIVE! ^0^ oh gosh, you should've seen the look on my face last night! I was just giddy as could be! Dad threatened to take the book from me a couple of times though... > . >

Ren: ... why are you posting? I thought you had Conference this weeke -

CCR: REN-REN! *glomp* ^^; sorry, couldn't help it.

Ren: meh, I figured that would happen.

CCR: and Conference isn't for another half an hour or so, so I thought I'd check my e-mail and do this.

Ren: directly into the posting box?

CCR: meh, I'm being semi-lazy. I'll copy and paste it onto Word later.

Though I probably should be going in case the broadcast starts early or anything like that. Until next time, ja ne!

EDIT: though technically the whole "18" thing doesn't go into affect until 7:15 tonight my time... I still don't feel any different.

myO Comment response!

Xaos - no, unfortunately I don't speak Chinese. I was just using it as an example... ^^; I almost took a class for it online this year though, but me taking French III this year my mom said no.
